You just saved me so much time! I've unlocked all of the diagnostic tools, but never think to use them. Every time I would run into a "part not discovered" I'd just end up tearing everything down, whether it be suspension, engine, etc. I can't tell you how many engines I've torn down to the block to see if the one thing I'm missing is a set of piston rings. I never thought I could just use the compression tool to tell me. Mind you, I like doing the tear down, but when you need to get jobs in and out to make money, time is everything. Thanks for this video and reminding me that there's an easier, more efficient way (plus you get XP).
Haha I remember doing the exact same thing on the 2018 version. But hey it's not all a loss of time... tearing everything down, now that's a great way to earn XP.
When using the shopping list it is wat faster to use the keyboard controls instead of the mouse, whilst in the shopping list and on the correct store, PRESS TAB to bring up the list PRESS ENTER on the first part PRESS ENTER again to purchase PRESS X to clear the part, if you want multiple parts use the RIGHT AROW on your keyboard, you can rinse a shopping list very quickly like this although it does take a few goes to get it quick, but way faster than mouse clicks. USE BACKSPACE to go back to the main store menu and USE ARROW keys and ENTER to navigate. Try it you will not be disappointed once your brain has the keys down. ALso PRESSING X whilst removing parts also adds it to the list. Pressing and holding X whilst in the shopping list clears the whole list. Pressing X after purchase clears the search.
@@krazypotatoe4207 I tried to hold off and just do jobs with oil changes for a bit. which i had some success in, but I just got fed up and restarted. now doing much better.
If that happens again you can get customer cars and take the wheels off them and sell them, then buy the cheapest and smallest rims and tires possible and replace them and just finish the job unfinished. Works best on high end cars. Costs about 300 for all 4 wheels and tires and you can sell a lot of the high end wheels for £400 each
And also if you replace parts that are originally fine and doesn't need replacement you can save money for the more expensive parts. E.g. Job A Car - Remove Brake Calipers (89%) Job B Car - Remove Brake Calipers (10%) Swab both of them and finish Job A Car Job which only requires oil change. And finish Job B Car Job which requires new brake calipers. Cheers!
I like the shopping lists but with tires, you have to make sure to read the size before you get them because they don't transfer the same size over when you're shopping for tires. But otherwise, this game is amazing.
Diesel you the man!! I watched your stream on this yesterday and you’re uploading videos today!! I feel like you’re under appreciated but you’re doing an awesome job brother!!!
Once you have like $6k... Go to the junkyard and inspect all the cars for quick XP, then buy a car, wash it, and replace all the exterior body parts. You can sell it for a few thousand profit, rinse and repeat. It's kinda boring but you level up quick.
I restarted three times already cos I'm running out of money and screwing up. Lol. Thanks Nard Dog. I'm still waiting for the mod where the female customer can't afford to pay for the repairs so we have to figure out some other arrangement. 😏😂
Id say people need to run the tests then. Purchasing them will be well worth it but aswell it would be good to upgrade your examination rate. This, if im correct actually gives you an xp for each part on the car. With all of the examination tools and max examination speed, you can get around 100-200 xp reallt fast... for each car. Could literally call in customers, check their cars and send it back LOL
You know, trying to drink coffee and what UA-cam i am surprised i have not had to replace many keyboards. Blinker fluid that's funny. Especially for me as i am a mechanic. Guy its a good thing i keep paper towels near my desk. keep up the good work.
I just bought the 2018 edition. Didn't know there was 2021 version on the way. The new features look nice, but personally I would be a bit worried that the extra details/tasks could make the game cumbersome in the long run. I basically just want to level up to the point where I become a custom shop restoring barn finds instead of taking jobs. What's your experience of the game so far? Is the new features a nice addition, or are they an unnecessary annoyance?
Funny how that green car had perfect paint and rims before you ran all the tests, and then right after it was covered in rust from bumper to bumper.. Testing makes the cars worse.. lol
In the 2018 version an oil spill would set you back 100 credits. I guess they lowered the price because of the additional fluids in the 2021 version so you don't ruin yourself when you forget to empty the containers.
Fastest way to level up, for every car that comes in the shop. Use your scanner, compression tester and all your diagnostic tools. Keep doing it for each new car and you will level up fast
Doesn't come out until around my birthday? Sweet. That gives my birthday some meaning now, its no longer just my "I'm officially a year more ancient" day XD
@@DieselDesigns Thanks, i will keep watching this series. Always enjoy your presentation and hope to master this game when i get it. It always seems to be a well made sim.
Does this game expect you to have car mechanic knowledge? The first car was easy enough, there was a tutorial about it in the game. But then I got to the green Mini Cooper and I am supposed to repair all of these parts I haven’t been told about yet. Belts and such. I checked the tutorial menu and don’t see anything about belts. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I just started disassembling the engine because I think there are belts in engines. When it was totally taken apart I noticed belts on the fan. Did I waste my time and totally mess things up by taking apart the engine? Would I know how to even put the engine back together? I know the game shows a ghost image of the next part that needs to go on when you are assembling but When you are deep down in there, it’s hard to see what is what. I eventually just reloaded the game to before I took anything apart. Some parts of the car are completely red I don’t know if that means those are the ones that need repair or They are red because I can’t access them yet. The only way I was able to dismantle the engine was to move my cursor over everything until I saw something with a green outline. But that’s time-consuming and I can’t remember what I took apart and in what order. And this is just the third car!
It does require some mechanical knowledge but once you take certain jobs over and over again you’ll know the parts that are necessary to replace. Suspension= tie rods, end links, or shocks. Timing = Transmission problems. Gotta take a look at the gearbox and it’s components. Brakes= well brakes. Easiest job. Once you see the rusty damaged parts once, twice, you’ll know what they mean when the repair comes into the shop. It can be frustrating if you have no car knowledge but this is a very basic mechanical simulator that can get lengthy if u don’t know what parts they’re referring to.
@@DieselDesignsThank you. As I’ve played more I also see you can highlight certain parts in the jobs list that have grey stars that become light blue when you select them, and then that same light blue color outlines the part. @@firstpersonlooter not sure about why they’re not in your inventory. Only thing i can think of is maybe it’s too damaged? You can’t repair items that are damaged below 15%. They won’t show up for you to fix at all.
wow your not cheap with the fluids you better not come to my shop i just fill it till it tilts the can back the first time and it is perfect most of the time between min and max as it should be.
