Sadly this isn't about war per say. When she wrote this she was talking about the conflict that happened between Britain and Ireland. Hence why she says "1916" That was the rising that happened in Dublin. The song is exactly about that. With him changing the lyrics it was disrespectful to the meaning of the song and to Dolores beliefs in the Irish Republic
@@matthewfox3163 I see how it would be disrespectful but they were gonna do the song together until she died. I sure that they approved the lyrics with her before that day
Miss Strange what meaning. What exactly is he saying about what issue? The original is very clearly about The Troubles and how both sides pretend they're fighting for the very people dying in crossfire. This version is about nothing.
What is the message? They have changed the lyrics and that changes the message. In the original an Irish person says an Irish civil war where both sides claim to be fighting for the Irish people does not represent her or the people she knows. It questions why both sides say they are fighting for her when she's caught in the crossfire of both sides. It says "since 1916" because the war had been going on longer than the lives of anyone involved in it has been alive and makes the conflict seem endless. This one says "in 2018" which just says kinda vaguely that there is some sort of vague conflict in some vague location. The message is lost entirely when you remove any specifics. Do you think the Purge movies have some great message too? No, they don't and neither does this trash. It's no longer a protest song, now it's just a song hoping to honor a band they liked.
Douglas Paulson So the original song is directed more towards a specific conflict while this one isn't directed towards any conflict specifically. It's talking about war on larger scale. Being vague on what conflict they are talking about is the whole point in my opinion. I bet a lot of people during the Crimean war or the Syrian civil war feel/ felt the same way she did. Also I haven't seen the purge movies so I can't say anything about that.
"Its the same old theme in 2018, in your head, in your head, they're still fighting, with their tanks, and their bombs, and their guns, and their drones". Powerful words.

I love it too. It doesn’t hold a candle to the original. But it’s still great. Even the music video is wonderfully done. Imagine if they had gotten the chance to record with her. It’d be even more amazing. The day of....its so heartbreaking.
For the brothers out there struggling with coping from fighting the good fight, a battle buddy is only a phone call away. You're never alone. Army Strong. Hooah.
This, without a doubt, is 100,000 times better than the original. Much more Emotion. Dramatic suspense. Distraught was captured. The point of this piece of art was much more grasped than what was originally intended. As someone that served, you all, want to post your opinion stating your case, you cannot. You haven’t been there. You haven’t seen the only people you’ve been affiliated with become corrupted from all of the bad in the world you can’t see other than a post noting a death of an American soldier. You see nothing. You see, at least; The bare minimum.. you see on social media. Fox, ABC, Facebook, yahoo alerts. You all know nothing.. Most will never be able to grasp what goes on. They know of it. Not what it is. Bad Wolves, made this relevant again with their efforts. Much love.
Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence causes silence Who are we mistaken? But you see, it's not me It's not my family In your head, in your head, they are fighting With their tanks, and their bombs And their bombs, and their drones In your head, in your head, they are crying What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh Another mother's breakin' Heart is takin' over When the violence causes silence We must be mistaken It's the same old theme In two thousand eighteen In your head, in your head, they're still fightin' With their tanks, and their bombs And their guns, and their drones In your head, in your head, they are dyin' What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh It's the same old theme In two thousand eight-teen In your head, in your head, they're dyin' What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie What's in your head, in your head? Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, Oh oh oh oh Ie-ie, oh
This is only as amazing as it is because you can feel the emotion he's having while he sings it, this is personal to him and he's going all in because can feel and resonate with every word. I do not know who sings this, but you can feel it. He deals with this, he almost sounds like he's about to break down and that's exactly the kind of emotion a song like this needs. Thank you.
When the singer mentioned 2018, only then I realized the power of this cover. Even though it’s just a cover, its message of war and devastation continues to be true no matter the attempts to end it.
I grew up with Dolores and the true original greatness that was her! I have heard many people try to cover this song with terrible results but the bad wolves not only do a great job but they also pay the song much respect!!!!!!!
As far as I know they didn't end up doing the cover without Dolores, according to Octane from sirius radio these guys covered this song way before her death and that they were indeed going to meet with her a few hours after she ended up dying, but I don't know if they went ahead with the new cover of this song or if this is actually the old cover that they did years earlier, or however long it was that they did it.
The cover has been mixable for a while, but she passed about 7 hours before the studio time to add her part. Was going to be on the album I assume, but the passing pushed it out as is in tribute. A tribute well done I say.
Gives me chills every time I listen. Such a good song with so many deep meaning that could describe so many moments in history, both worldwide and individually. So sad Delores couldn’t be here to make it even more amazing. RIP to the legend.
DanDanMusicManUK are you FUCKING STUPID???? I can't believe Dolores actually agreed to work with these jokes. AND I can't believe she would of actually liked this version. This is a disgrace. This atrocious. In my head (and on the outside) I'm crying myself over how ruined this is. Bad wolves should of NEVER went through with this.
Oh yeah, I forgot how mature shitting on people's ideas was, I'll try that one next time! I'm sure you're one of those 16 and preggo kinda people too lmao
How the fuck can anyone possibly give this a thumbs down?!?! The original has been one of my favorite songs since it came out in the 90s when i was a kid.. Just heard this on the radio while i was driving home from work and i literally had chills listening to it.. soon as i got inside i went straight here to listen to it again.. and again. So fucking good
Joe Chill Eh ? Was she really what ? Was she really going to do vocals for it ? The simple answer is yes, she was going to be doing a version of Zombie with Bad Wolves so she definitely knew who Tommy Vext was. I saw Tommy Vext do a song with Five Finger Death Punch a few weeks ago. It's no big secret. I knew about it before Dolores died. Why the fuck would I pluck that nugget out ma arse ? If you know who Bad Wolves are, or just know about current rock music then you might not look like such a twat. Just go and Google "Bad Wolves Zombie Dolores" and even little sites like Rollingstone, Revolver, Metro, Team Rock etc all cover the same story. Now that she's dead, Bad Wolves are giving all proceeds for the song to Dolores's children. It's not hard to do some homework or do you like looking like a muppet ?
Joe Chill man wake up she was suppose to record with them hours before she died. Get your head out of your ass. They even talked about it at octane sirius xm
It's really heavy the meaning behind this amazing song, makes me think about all the victims around the world who lost their lives in mass murders, shootings, bombings... The violence needs to stop. Zombie sent a powerful message and still does until this day, Dolores' legacy is alive!
How extremely sad that we never got to hear the version of this with Dolores signing. I can see why she was taken back with this version, it's incredible and gives the song a different dynamic. Heartbroken 💔
...and yet I think they did a great job of making it feel the same with all of the differences to the original. I with you, I wish we could have heard what lovely Dolores wanted to do on it.
Jacqueline B So stupid to cling to an artist only after they are dead. You get all misty eyed over Allen Vega too. Oh wait you don't know? Did you always love David Bowie too.
People get misty-eyed over dead artists because, in one way or another, they've interacted with us and changed us whether you realize it or not. Be it through their music, things they say, things they play, even something as small as signing an album a fan bought or as large as saving a life without realizing it. I don't care who you are, couldn't give less of a shit but, always think things through before you spew it out of your mouth or your keyboard as hateful vomit. Otherwise, you seem like an ass and an idiot.
Michael Pollard We're fully aware of the meaning of the original, what he means is they made this cause she died on the way to the studio to record this version of the song with Bad Wolves. She was actually going to be the lead vocals and shes the one that updated the lyrics to fit the times, they only went ahead and released the song to pay tridute to her and to give every bit of money that they made off this song to her children which they recently did
They almost didn't release it when Dolores died before the premiere. She was supposed to be there for it. And every penny made from this song now goes to her kids.
@Michael Pollard I bet you're the one that disliked it, right? Well, I didn't know that it was Doloer herself who altered the lyrics to fit in today, but personally, I found this still the best cover ever made. Yeah, original can't be beaten, but Bad Wolves actually paid respects to original and released a cover that was originally planned to be collaboration. They almost scraped it, but then decided to record it and release anyway, to pay tribute to her. Not every rock and metal guys have stone hearts...
@Michael Pollard I guess that you missed the point completely. Their goal wasn't cover the song with an original taste. Their goal was indeed record a collaboration with Dolores and these lyrics are her own. Or, which is more likely, you're just trolling, in which case this is my last word!
Josh Metheney In the original they said "Since 1916" and in this cover they say "In 2018" making it a limited timeframe, while the original was ongoing.
TheBlackKnight1o1 I guess I heard 1908. But should also note that the original lyric was specific to Ireland, the NRA, and British military, which limits it even further.

Referring to the 1916 Easter Rebellion in Ireland. An attempt by Irish Republic Rebels to overthrow British rule by force.
This version states a sort of "Well, nothing has changed since then" message in its lyrics:

Stay HOOAH, brother. You are never alone. IGY6 to all those of my brothers and sisters who took The Oath. Till Valhalla!!
@@erinrave1748 did you seriously compare fortnite to the military
Much love.
Beautiful cover.
Wck Production 🙏
Wck Production indeed
Great cover, bad wolves did a really good job with this.
never heard of the band tbh but I might have to check out their other stuff
I didn't know she died.

Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence causes silence
Who are we mistaken?
But you see, it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head, they are fighting
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are crying
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
Another mother's breakin'
Heart is takin' over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eighteen
In your head, in your head, they're still fightin'
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their guns, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eight-teen
In your head, in your head, they're dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie,
Oh oh oh oh
Ie-ie, oh
Why?
Thx dude

Jokes on you i already know the lyrics
This song reminds me of the demons I fight in my mind everyday!! Overcoming is the key. Try as you might and hopefully you will win!!!!
Thank you.
It's the same old theme, in 2018, in your head. Amazing
Anxious Collective that's what I thought when I heard it on Sirius XM the other day.
I had to replay that part a couple times to make sure I heard it right
Anxious Collective 1916 - cranberries
Anxious Collective I am the Bad Wolves Zombie. 2018!
I’ve listened to it a few times and that part is fucking awesome
This song isn’t getting the recognition it deserves
It's 2023 and this song still is one of the coolest music
When the singer mentioned 2018, only then I realized the power of this cover. Even though it’s just a cover, its message of war and devastation continues to be true no matter the attempts to end it.
I grew up with Dolores and the true original greatness that was her! I have heard many people try to cover this song with terrible results but the bad wolves not only do a great job but they also pay the song much respect!!!!!!!
Rick Middleton YES THEY DID AND DOLORIS WOULD BE PROUD OF THIS COVER THEY HAVE THE RIGHT PASSION AND EMOTION WHEN THEY DON'T THIS SONG
Miser did a good one
Oh. It breaks my heart to know that she would have sung in this cover 😢💔
We may only suppose what a harmony with beautiful and high Dolores' voice there could be...
She was actually planning to sing on it before she died.
P3RSY, just a guess, but I would think she'd have sung on backing vocals, maybe?
The cover has been mixable for a while, but she passed about 7 hours before the studio time to add her part. Was going to be on the album I assume, but the passing pushed it out as is in tribute. A tribute well done I say.
“When the violence causes we must be mistaken” that touch my heart
The only cover that conveys the pain and worry. Loved it❤
Gives me chills every time I listen. Such a good song with so many deep meaning that could describe so many moments in history, both worldwide and individually. So sad Delores couldn’t be here to make it even more amazing. RIP to the legend.
"With their tanks, and their bombs, and their guns, and their drones"
me too!!
and their drones. Lol I like that one.
The first time he said it he said ‘bombs’ twice instead of saying ‘guns’
That's true of the original as well if I'm not mistaken Orthrus.
Yeah and she doesnt say drones
it touches your heart. We knew dolores a little
it hurt when she died she was an angel
RIP
Righteous tribute
I never knew too much about The Cranberries or their singer, but this take on the song is just beautiful, and a lovely tribute to her.
RIP Dolores. Lovely version.
DanDanMusicManUK this is as far from lovely as you can get
Shouldn't you be listening to country music?
countrygirl countrymusiclover alright "country girl" whatever you say 😂😂
Oh yeah, I forgot how mature shitting on people's ideas was, I'll try that one next time! I'm sure you're one of those 16 and preggo kinda people too lmao
Honestly the greatest cover i've ever heard.. i can't help but get emotional
In my opinion disturbed sound if silence cover is better but this is so good as well
This guy is an amazing singer.
How the fuck can anyone possibly give this a thumbs down?!?! The original has been one of my favorite songs since it came out in the 90s when i was a kid..
Just heard this on the radio while i was driving home from work and i literally had chills listening to it.. soon as i got inside i went straight here to listen to it again.. and again. So fucking good
James Porter DUDE almost same story with me WTF lol
James Porter me too! That's how you know you made a good song! When everyone who hears it gets chill bumps all over!!!
Awesome version. Gutted that Delores died just before she was due to record her vocals for it.
gareth milton ask yourself. Was she really? Does she even know this band? No
Joe Chill
Eh ?
I read the articles. Still skeptical.
Joe Chill man wake up she was suppose to record with them hours before she died. Get your head out of your ass. They even talked about it at octane sirius xm
what a good reason to get my head out of my ass. because they talked about it.
Bad wolves did this song justice for sure. Song hits different when you're grown up and realize how cold and hateful this world really is.
Rip Dolores 😢💔
This cover is you in a form of a perfect song ❤️
This is fucking incredible.
RIP Dolores 💔🖤💔
Kristen Lee you're fucking right
Love it! I usually hate remakes but they killed it!
That could not be any more true for disturbed's covers, i hate those!
just sum guy Yeah but they fucking killed sound of silence
Yha
Stratigan Games bishhhb
Huuuuukojiuhjijjjhjjjj
It's really heavy the meaning behind this amazing song, makes me think about all the victims around the world who lost their lives in mass murders, shootings, bombings... The violence needs to stop. Zombie sent a powerful message and still does until this day, Dolores' legacy is alive!
There's so much emotion in this cover and it's so amazing
The guitar killed it!!
I am happy you made this song because it was her song and she passed the day she was going to record. Rip
Beautiful remake she would be proud, the sky belongs to the stars we miss you!!!!!!!#godblesstheirish
I saw this live yesterday and was blown away. Amazing cover, you could tell the audience was deeply moved by it. Well done :')
It's been a long time since I've seen a heavy metal song make the Billboard Hot 100. Congrats!
“It’s still the same old thing in 2018” that hit me hard.
The Dopeland the correct lyric was 1916
Chris Cobb They purposely changed the lyrics to reflect modern times.
Dani O no, 2018 is more meaningful because it's been going on ince 1916.
Oh. Learn something new everyday.
I like both but the new IRA still fights which gives it today's meaning
The violence causes silence.
Never a truer phrase has been spoken on the nature of war. It's my favorite line of the song.
my moms listened to the cranberries when was a kid this cover is done so well
rip doloris you are missed!
Delores actually heard this and wanted to do a duo with Bad Wolves. Unfortunately she died on the day they were supposed to start recording.
GanGreenSkittle that's so sad
The released their version the day she died in memory of her. The official music video brought a tear to my eye.
Noooooo
Actually she was supposed to do a duet with them, this is her song. It would’ve been amazing but sadly she died the day the wanted to record.
GanGreenSkittle that's sad
When the cover rocks harder than the original
I love how they did this song. Its just as perfect as the original.
Not even close
@@thedutchmaster225 I know, it's better.
Beautiful cover!! Dolores will always be in our hearts!!

So stupid to cling to an artist only after they are dead.
Abutosin aww poor wittle baby. Did I disrupt your fantasy that I might give a fuck?
No. But, I think it's hilarious that you think you can trigger me. Just shows who's actually an adult here.
You are pathetic mate, thinking you can trigger people with those comments XD
Tommy could cover a Hannah Montana song and still kill it.
Atarioo I wish he would!
R.I.P DOLORES
Saw them live yesterday it was awesome
Where at bruv?
@@gameslaver5082 white river amphitheatre in Auburn, WA. if you care to know this still. (Never had a notification for this.)
love the inclusion of "drones", makes it all the more relevant today
Yaxley it makes it a remake and not a cover you can't just change that shit
It's still very much a cover. Modernizing a couple of lines doesn't break that.
T Alexander yes it does
Great! Drones is like a little renuing .. such a good band, great tributute!
...The 2018 part also makes it more relevant today.
Gentlemen, you nailed it.
This song is so moving it actually brought me to tears. It has so much meaning and goes so deep.
"WHATS IN YOUR HEAD!!!"
um... this song!!! XD
For real though!
One of the most relatable comments on this website imo lol
TF2 Scout ssssaaaammmmeeee
All the way
Lmao
Covers usually annoy me...but not this one. I can imagine why she loved it so much❤
I’m sorry but the people who disliked this must not know the story behind why they did this cover and it got released
@Michael Pollard And it is still protest song. Bad Wolves turned it into protest song against war in Middle East that takes way too long...
Wonder if i'm the only one here who had listened to Tommy Vext's voice when he was back in Divine Heresy... He's come so far from those days.
This remastered version is so underrated.
Great cover, it's cool that they updated it to be more modern but it kinda dates it in a way.
TheBlackKnight1o1 No more than the 1908 reference in the original.
Josh Metheney In the original they said "Since 1916" and in this cover they say "In 2018" making it a limited timeframe, while the original was ongoing.
TheBlackKnight1o1 I guess I heard 1908. But should also note that the original lyric was specific to Ireland, the NRA, and British military, which limits it even further.
also says drones
It dates it, but also points out that it's been a quarter century since she sang about it, and still nothing has changed.
gave me chills. RIP Delores..
Aqua Henry it's r.i.p. not rip
yes you are correct it stands for rest in peace what's your point grammar Nazi?
Have decided to put together a playlist for when I’m going through my depression era(s) and this is definitely going in for sure 😢🥲
I am so saddened that the one who original singer passing. She really made me feel like I wasn't alone in the world.
