One thing I used to do on 2 lakes during the airborne meta was to give up the town but contest the flanks around the town instead. The low hp infantry only need to hold the outskirts buildings to lure enemy into ifv and tanks fire. They would usually try to use air on the heavy stuff out of the open which starts the RNG game of trading AA vs air. Not the best strat because by the time you clear the town, the forward deploy guy could be up 300-900 points but it's way more consistent than trying to do inf fight.
That was going to be my suggestion too. You can also work on obliterating the town with Grads while it is surrounded, and with stress on miss you have a better chance of holding off the opponent's air power. But inevitably even if you eventually get the town you will end up a fair way behind on points. Rather than improving optics, which might make it too easy to clear entrenched/ambush positions, I think the scoring should be adjusted. I would favour making all the zones (on every map) worth zero points until five minutes into the game.
You should have rushed in the other side. Taken the left part of the city Keep going down in the road and reach the other point. No fighting in that city in the opener, just retreat and destroy the enemy in the open field maybe. Another good video Hippie 🫡
Biggest issue was fighting in the middle of the town. Fight on the edge, use BMP-2, send in your meat first,THEN specialist anti-inf. Grad everything. Build up T-80BV. I used to main 39-ya on the ladder for like 30 games or so. It really really suffers but it can work if you're not up against an AB dive.
Yup. You attack too early and too much, 39-ya needs to just accept that you lose ground, build up until you've got a good blob THEN attack. It just has no ability to contest the early game (except for helo rushes, which are easily countered/predictable). So you need to accept you eat the point tick until you are ready to push with arty, air, heavy aa, inf, ifvs etc.
Exactly what I was thinking the entirety of the match, I was waiting for him to push the sides of the town and fight from the outskirts with supporting elements, instead of facing the meat grinder 😅
The EW plane is exceptionally awful now because they've added suppress on miss to SAMs so it now flies over an enemy kub, assuming the ECM works and the kub misses, it still just gets immediately routed and goes home and can't cover your other planes. This is sort of a problem for the other SEAD planes as well but they can at least shoot back so it's not as bad.
I think you seriously underestimate auto cannon spaa in the game , they will provide better fire support than any existing ifv… I’ve see them shredding a Full hp SAS squad in less than 10 seconds
You’re not supposed to break through, push through and clear the sides of the town and lock down the roads feeding into it, while using that middle ground to attack with your ~combined arms~ elements.
