So Zomom is ugly, stupid, and a glutton? Well, that's not a dated stereotype at all (sarcasm). Unfortunate negative depictions aside, this game has been pretty good thus far. Sure you have to hold down a trigger button just to get Sonic to run but that's not really a problem. Yes, it borrows a lot of elements from Mario but the platforming genre itself has used many things inspired from Mario's existence.
Whoever voiced as Zomnom, Laxus' VA, it just... voicing as Zomom seems somewhat...off. Like his VA does an even more awesome job with bad-asses such as Nekomaru Nidai.
That was kinda random to me; they kinda did do the same thing in Super Mario 3D Land, where the levels are randomized (there's a bubbly cardboard level in World 8, which is supposed to be Dark Land, Bowser's home turf!).

It’s still very much a kids game in that nothing sticks, but decent enough for a platformer. But in Colors the mind ray runs out in twenty sends and such without sonic/tails doing anything. In hindsight it tried to be Colors but tenser. Well it matters little in the end, quality is a bit similar in this point ra. Now frontiers is also trying the high drama endangered friends angle yet again so jury’s out on that too…

9p051aff Depends on how you see it; in my opinion, if there's any form of violence and the possibility of a character dying (including due to faults from the player), that's not kiddy. You don't see that stuff in shows like Dora the Explorer.
9p051aff...? I don't see it... Are you talking about the dust clouds he kicks up while running? You almost always see that included in running animations, more so for Sonic because of how fast he runs.

The real charm of sonic games is in replay value.
