oo ABOUT NICK MASON AND THE SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS oo
Nick Mason, Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken, aka Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, came together with the simple idea of playing some early Pink Floyd - the songs pre ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ - that had not been given a live outing for decades! This was the first time Nick had played live since Live 8 in 2005! “Why don’t we get a rehearsal room and play some things and see how we feel about it?” Nick suggested...
A few months later, on Sunday 20 May 2018, Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets took Pink Floyd’s drummer back to the clubs for the first time since 1967 - Dingwalls in Camden, London. The performance was met with huge adulation across the board**.
Three nights at the Half Moon in Putney followed that same week before announcing a theatre tour through the UK, North America and Europe from September, and they promptly sold out! A handful of extra UK shows were announced for April and May 2019, including two nights at The Roundhouse - the venue where Pink Floyd first played on 15 October 1966, at the International Times launch party.

THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN le 1er 33 tours du groupe sorti en août 1967 un des piliers de l'histoire du rock ! c'était aussi le rappel lors du concert GAMES FOR MAY au QUEEN ELIZABETH HALL le 12/05/1967 (un vendredi ! je le sais même si je n'étais pas né 😂) écrit et chanté par 🥰 SYD 🥰 que du bonheur ! d'ailleurs les mecs ! la version est sublime ! 👌à l'image du concert ! NICK on sent ton kiff grave ! tu me fais trop plaisir à prendre justement autant de plaisir ! tu peux être sûr et certain que ce petit bijou (CD ET DVD donc je me suis rencardé !) va bientôt être acheté et atterrir dans ma collection ! excuse moi pour toutes les années ou je suis passé à coté je suis impardonnable en même temps j'écoute beaucoup d'autres groupes aussi ! par exemple GOMINA (INTO THE SUNNY GRAY/PRINTS/WHENEVER YOU GUYS ARE READY) je me permets cette audace c'est de l'autoproduction et j'ai les droits 🤣😂(au moins pour la recommandation ! je les connais et ils ont pas le choix !) 😁cela devrait plaire à quelques personnes (ils y ont mis toute leur âme !) c'est le petit coup de pouce pour que tu puisse au moins les découvrir ! c'est cool ! aprés le reste à dire vrai on s'en moque un peu tu sais ! 🙄 voila prends cela comme un petit partage artistique et musical ! 👍👌✌🥸

It’s funny because these old toons took their songs from this type of music.
It does have that Dick Dale style. The dark weird orig was better. It's like they're making fun of the tune.
It was written to be a theme for a cartoon which was dropped but they decided to stick it on the album anyway.

Très bonne initiative de Nick masson, d'avoir pris les premiers titres le Floyd, d'abord pour les plus jeunes,et certains qui n'ont pas connu, avec de bons musicien sans prétention, Nick le seul musicien de floyd qui a joué fans tous les albums du groupe je dis bravo 👍👍👍

Also, the song isn't "ruined". I guarantee if you go listen to Piper right now, the song will sound exactly the same as it always has.
