Fumbled my way through this program on my own before finding this video. You cleared up some questions I had as for what each setting did so thanks for that. My one question that I’m having a hard time getting an answer to is how to get more cohesive results whether from stills or animations? Everything always seems so abstract but I see people pumping out videos where there is multiple objects in frame that each are doing something separate. I’m also seeing animations that make more sense in general and I’m curious if you can shed any light on settings to play with to get away from the abstract

I can't seem to find a good tutorial on that.
You're welcome! I'd recommend running a batch upscaler like Gigapixel and when you have your upscaled frames, import them in Premiere as an image sequence. Just remember to interpret the footage as the frame rate you worked with.
I've been upscaling from 382x640 and and 512x832 using the Extras/ Batch from Directory using just Lanczos as upscaler 1, very clean upscales as far as I can tell

Thanks! And yes, it will. Each image saved will use up Google drive storage. But you can move these out from your Drive and use a local storage when you've finished rendering.
Is it possible to set a second image for the interpolation, so that you not only set an init_image but also the goal image for the interpolation. So you could precisely end at a certain image instead of working with the animation_prompts?

You said the strength schedule was the most important setting for animations but you didn't explain it very well or in depth. What are the useful value ranges? What does entering a lower or higher number actually result in practice? Why did you enter in the (Steps) x (Strength) calculation and then half the result?
Sample steps - (sample steps*strength_schedule) = subsequent frames number of steps. I'd play around with 0.4-0-7 and learn from that. Low value = higher subsequent steps ie. more changes to your images.
great tutorial ! I am not sure if the model downloaded properly for me, it does not look like the same type of file as in the video, it just appears blank with the same title. I can not enter it as a file like you do in the tutorial

As with all things AI it generates almost random stuff and you pick and choose till you get what you want or just stick with what you get. It will be so much better when these things are controllable by better means than text prompts. What needs to be worked on now is the human to machine interface so that you get what you have in your head from the AI and not the pick and choose you have now. It's great what it can do but it's still early days and still very limited in someways and at the same time explosive

This animation runs so quick. 8 min for 500 frames. I spent once 11 hours for a 8sec animation and best couple hours with s colab pro+ account. How come? Is it because you skip steps in the middle. Which setting was that??
hey! i was rendering an animation on deforum, until frame 1200 all ok, but when i resumed the animation the last time i had an error because I typed 3 in spite of .3 on the rotation so it was so trippy from frame 1200 to 2400 (ending of animation). is there any way i can delete the frames i dont want and resume the animation from an exact frame? i tried to remove the frames i dont want from drive(so i deleted frames 1200 to 2400 in the drive folder)The thing is that when i try to resume the animation again there is nothing rendering. Any idea? this is the message I recive: "Saving to /content/drive/MyDrive/AI/StableDiffusion/2023-03/StableFun/20230315110619_* " but it never render the animation just says that message and gets de green tick without any render any help pls? thanks!
I can't get deforum to generate images at 16:9 (640x360). Even when I change the settings in the google collab for image output to 640x360, the images still come out 640x320, and so when I go to upscale the images, I can't get true 16:9 unless I have horizontal black bars running along the top and bottom of the video.
The reason is because SD needs resolution to be in increments of 64....if you render larger images, you can get closer to 16:9 aspect ratio, thereby needing to crop less
I have a RTX 3080 12.0GB and I have a hard time with the 3d animation if I go beyond 896px X 512px. Does anyone know what would it take to run 3D at 1280X720? Thank you!

In the Automatic1111 Colab Deforum shows error "No Module Named py3d_tools" , Please fix this. I have even asked to deforum discord help but no results.

If you're running Deforum in Google Colab, then you are using Google's hardware and not your own so your computer can rest easy :) You can run multiple instances of Google Colab, but Google might temporarily (hours up to a day) but you in Colab jail, preventing gpu access :)

Now I want to do animations like you do but this tutorial starts off with deforum in Google collab which I have no idea about. i have this issue.. where it just becomes plain with no detail for a while in... zoomed in too far or something I'm not sure. Im using the Audio Zoom frames also.

I wouldn't really call this one outdated as 0.5 just added some settings. So all this is still correct and valuable knowledge. But I understand your sentiment and it's wild trying to keep up! 😅
have you considered taking images from these animations, then upscaling with img2imgHD for the traditional Stable Diffusion? 🤔 Have had trouble getting Deforum to work consistently also get this error most of the time. TypeError: Object of type set is not JSON serializable
It really would make more sense if you could draw something meaningful. If there was a way to produce animation of character jumping, fighting or doing anything in-place - that would be valuable. This... well, it is sickeningly.

you can do a composite of different animations with after effects for example. just render some animations out of this and create a montage there
use chat gpt to help you write improve your prompts, make them long and accurate, keep testing to the desired preference.
I've managed to get better results with increasing strength to 0.5 or more in init settings under Run (where you change to W and H and so on)

I believe only 1 init image is possible now, but you can prepare what images you want interpolated by testing out the prompts preemptively.

There's only the option to start with an init image. However you can interpolate between images but it's not as good.

Check strength_schedule settings. It is explained in the guide. 99% that's the issue.

Depends on your gpu. But can easily run and upscale to get full hd and even 4k. You need to accept the license in Huggingface for the model.

If you're not saving the model, you can get it through Huggingface. Check the settings and create your Write access token.

Should work just deleting frames and resuming. I have done it multiple times.
I can't get deforum to generate images at 16:9 (640x360). You need to run with lower resolutions and upscale in another software. I usually run something close to 640x320 and then just upscale afterwards.

i have this issue.. where it just becomes plain with no detail for a while in... zoomed in too far or something I'm not sure. Im using the Audio Zoom frames also.
it shows my subjets for a bit and then goes plain for awhile then someone pops back out again... its not detailed the entire time.
@@mahmood392 Probably too much zoom. Try to stay closer to 1.
@@sebastiankamph im using the audio frames for zoom.. the power is set to 4. this is usually always the case. i have even done 1.02 and i still get this blank empty places often..
@@mahmood392 How high and low are your minimum and maximum zoom values?
@@sebastiankamph the height iv seen is 1.04 and lowest is 1.00. And I set my strength at 0.65? 🤷♂️
where can i find a vid on v0.5 by chance? i cant find the one your using on this video i can only find v0.5
99% is the same. Some new options in 0.5 but this is still valid.

I wouldn't really call this one outdated as 0.5 just added some settings. So all this is still correct and valuable knowledge. But I understand your sentiment and it's wild trying to keep up! 😅
have you considered taking images from these animations, then upscaling with img2imgHD for the traditional Stable Diffusion? 🤔 Have had trouble getting Deforum to work consistently also get this error most of the time.

It really would make more sense if you could draw something meaningful. If there was a way to produce animation of character jumping, fighting or doing anything in-place - that would be valuable. This... well, it is sickeningly.
