Cordoba...the reliable ukulele! I had a Cordoba when I first started. Certainly, for the price, a great beginner uke that you can grow with. Have a great week off, Baz!
Thanks Baz for review. Sounds and looks lovely for the money. It seems that some manufacturers have great ukes that are solid top with laminate back and sides. Cordoba have joined that club for me. Probably wouldn’t even consider them before without seeing this review. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Baz. I admit I’d always dismissed Cordoba as a brand. I also can’t help comparing a spruce top concert to the aNueNue UC10, which is a really high bar. But the review has still made me consider Cordoba again, which is helpful, so thanks again.
Yep - fair point - those UC10's are a bit of a standout on good value. But plenty of solid toppers around this price too. That Snail i compared it to is £60 more!
Thanks for the review. It compares with my own experience, I have the Tenor version, purchased 2 years ago as a beginner. I love the spalted maple on yours, mine is nice but not as dramatic as yours! But it appeals to my taste. I also love the satin finish, it feels very smooth, so nice to hold. The tenor has a wider nut than the concert, which suits my fingers. The sound felt good at the time, sustain and volume seemed good compared to others of a similar price. Hence overall it made me want to keep picking it up as a beginner.
A Córdoba CM-15 was indeed the very first ukulele i bought. That is exactly 13 years ago. Ev’rything has changed drastically ever since. The sides on this particular instrument are cool.
I know the model - back in the day they were a solid alternative the the limited usual suspects. But I don't think they really developed and kept up since then leaving me feeling a bit flat about them. Saying that, I love this one!
I really like the look of this one as well. Very different. From here it looks very well made. The price is right here in the US. I like the sound and most everything about it. Finger picked a little boxy. Thanks for another real nice review….DOC
I have a few Cordobas. They are decent solid instruments. Like most of my ukes, I immediately change them to Worth Browns. I have a strong dislike for those Aquila strings. They can make a nice uke sound plasticky and plinky. Though I do have one Cordoba with Aquilas set with a low G. I figured good enough for now. Some songs require a low G and everybody should have one uke tuned to low G. (Ever try to play “Sound of Silence” with a high G?) 😬
It seems to be a fairly ok uke, even though spalted is not my favorite. A bit expensive too. 190 pounds? One pound is 14 kronor in Sweden...definitly too expensive.. Thanks for a good review! Take care ❤
Sorry - have a policy of never recommending strings - not to be unhelpful, it's just a totally subjective thing. I've seen people argue about the same string set - one saying they are bright, one saying warm - yet they are both right (we all hear and play differently). My advice is just to buy a few sets and trust your own ears as to what you like
I have that Cordoba in Baritone strung strung in Low G - one octave lower . . . gives it lots of character
Nice
Enjoyed the review as always. I’m learning so much from you about how to evaluate a ukulele.
Glad they help!
It's quite good value, considering it includes a Rorschach test on the back of it 😂
Enjoy your break, thanks for all your reviews.
Thanks for watching!

Reliable, but I have found just a bit... boring. Until this one!
Hi, spalting looks very nice, indeed. I've got a Cordoba guitar - also good instrument. Thanks a lot for a great review! 👍
My pleasure!

Thanks Mike!
Great review, as usual. Love the look of that thing: looks, almost punky with those 'ripped' sides!
Thanks! 👍

@@GotAUkulele yeah, I’m not saying this is bad value at all - and as you say, the spalted maple looks really good.
Great review as always. Have a wonderful week 😊
Thanks Lorraine!

Love it, l like the binding on the finger board 👍
Thanks for a great review Barry
Very welcome!
That burning man figure on the back us a bit freaky but I do like the sides
I saw a human with the head of a cat!
Enjoyed the review!
Glad to hear it!

Thanks mate
I like Cordobas and have a few, and for the price point IMO they are great.
No, nothing wrong with them. Reliable too. Just never yet set my world alight.

Thanks Doc!
Love the looks. But it sounded rather”tinny”. A unique sound. Given that you have previously rated Cordobas as average, this is a nice change.
I rather liked the sound myself - not as bright as expected.
Can I just ask? Is that last jingle you played taken from “Ride On” by Christy Moore?
Know that song well, but no! The very last bit is the melody to 'Here Comes The Rain Again' by Eurhythmics

Cordobas are good, for the price. But the spalting: Is that Sauron or Batman on the back?😂
'Safe' for the price. Not particularly exciting though. Until I saw this

Nah - think the price is bang on compared to alternatives. The Snail version is £60 more expensive
Had your initial pictures shown more of the spalting, I bet it would have got more views.
Unreelated topic. What is your go to supprano strings?

Not my cup of tea but as Baz would say “It’s alright”
Fair enough!
@@GotAUkulele that’s why I leave the reviews to the experts Baz your jobs safe with me as competition 😉😂
