- Hi guys happy sunday! just sharing my thoughts on my goyard st louis tote. i have had this bag for almost two years and thought this would be a great time to do an update on the wear/tear.

I have three of these bags. A red, a gray and the classic black and brown, which I just received for my birthday last July. My first one was the red tote and I used it to DEATH! The corners started to develop little holes and also, the pouch became detached from the leather. I took it to Bergdorf's in November of 2017 and they said they would have to send it to Goyard to see if they can fix it. Which they did. They BEAUTIFULLY repaired the corners with red leather and white stitching. It looks AMAZING. They also reattached the pouch. In all, it took until January of 2018 for it to be returned to me and a total of $150. I think in retrospect, they should automatically put this leather on the corners since it's prone to the small holes. But then again, I'm just a consumer:(
So, Goyard will fix it for a fee and some wait time? I'm curious because I have the black monogram with black leather which I've had for a couple of years now. I don't have any significant wear yet, but I want to be prepared when it gets to that point. I love mine so much, I've taken it on all my vacations or when I need a large tote to carry all my junk. I purchased mine at the Goyard store in San Francisco. Any further information you may have I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your comment.
I purchased all three of mine at Bergdorf's Goyard boutique. When I went to buy my gray bag, I mentioned that my red bag started to develop these holes. The SA told me to bring it in when I could and they would send it to Goyard to see if they could repair it. I asked her if Bergdorf's repair team did the repairs, the SA said "no" we send it to Goyard and they will determine if it can be repaired or not. If it can, then Goyard repairs the bag. If I can upload a picture of the work, I'll do so. It did cost $150 and about a month and a half to get it back, but the work it top notch!

Love the St Louis GM! I carried the bright red one around in Europe and it was such a lifesaver. I kept the sides tucked in when out and about, but it really is an awesome travel bag. It's possible to overstuff and make it super annoying to dig for anything, but, again, great for travel. My only gripe is that the stitching on the leather strap that attaches to the pouchette has started to come undone (where the strap attaches at the handle) which I think is totally unacceptable for a $1700 bag. Still love it though as it beautifully stands out in a sea of Neverfulls :)

I saw in someone else’s video regarding repair, they can replace both handles for $250. The bottom corners for $250 as well. I’m not sure if prices have changed but you can call Goyard. The repair can take up to 4 months though….

Great video! You've captured the faults perfectly (which they are... but who cares... it's Goyard!) The thing is... if you want a work horse then get a Neverfall. However if you want a cool designer bag where you can just check your stuff in casually, then the Goyard is for you. I have one and I totally love it! However, I'm not going to be chucking my MacBook Pro in it everyday and expect it not to have an effect. The Louis is not for that. You don't see the Parisians nor celebrities putting their notebooks in theirs. It's an IT bag, and that it does very, very well. And for security, I always put a heavy scarf on top of it so if any nosey people want to have a 'look' in it, they'll just see the scarf tucking everything away :) New subscriber - you're doing a great job!
I totally agree about your review of this bag. I bought the grey color and while i totally love the bag it certainly isn't worth $400 more than a classic color lol! The corners on my bag on the bottom also have a lot of wear and tear and they did very early on. It might be more noticable on the grey as it is a lighter color. Mine is only two years old as well and I did end up ordering a samorga insert for it more recently, to keep it more organized which I love. The samorga is made of felt so it is super lightweight xoxo Michelle.

Thank you so much for the honest review! I’ve always liked the look of this bag, although I prefer structured bags as a whole. I was thinking I would get one and put a purse organizer inside of it, but it now seems like it’s not for me.
I wish the canvas were thicker and sturdier, me it seems like it’s not worth the high price tag. I have my Givenchy and I guess that’s that.
Hey love. Been wanting a grey goyard tote so bad.
That’s why I sold mine to FP and it was just less than year old, I didn’t want to deal with this situation. Still got my Lv NF’s and I know for a fact that LV can fix or replace them in the future in case of any problems. Goyard is still beautiful though, I just wished consumer gets their money worth more when they buy this tote
I love this bag! I used it as a diaper bag, but it started to get some wear on it and on the little pouch that it comes with. I sold it to fashionphile and made close to retail on it. I would buy it again.

Ugh! I wish GY wold fix this issue. I love this bag WAY more than the neverfull (for the same reasons you mentioned in your video) but I want it as my everyday work bag. I feel like you can go to the grocery store and guaranteed you'll see at least one neverfull. That's what is making me not want to get one but I need a tote!

It's NOT supposed to crack like that! The older bags never did that! The quality has diminished over the years since it became more popular. It's a shame!

LMFAO I saw the title and couldn’t stop laughing!! I have the black on black one and my boyfriend and I literally call it a trash bag tooooo!! 😫 or he likes to call it my $20 bag 🙄 hahah
Love this bag but looks like the strap drop is too short. I don't think it would fit over my shoulder with a coat on comfortably.
I tried these on in Bergdorf and the PM size strap drop is way smaller than the GM. I'm 5'6 and the PM looked ridiculous on me. That said the strap drop of the GM is comparable to the neverfull MM which I have and love. The bags are about the same size. The straps on my neverfull are peeling after 4 yrs of constant wear. Also I have zero prob with the wear at the bottom of the bag. This Goyard is NOT a winter bag IMO. The bag is flimsy and thin, depending where you live but I wear a huge puffy coat and this would just look stupid. I will be buying a goyard GM soon.. hopefully I'll get a chance to review it by summer =) I do see women use it on the beach in the Hamptons thrown on the sand.. I wanna cry lol
It is! I wish it was as long as my Neverfulls! I have thicker arms so it's a struggle getting it up there! 😩
Great review! I live in west palm beach area and have considered driving to your area to purchase this bag but have heard they don't hold up very good! Love the look and style tho so still thinking about it!😊
I have the PM size in blue and I’ve had it for about 2 years now and I do regret not getting the GM (didn’t do much research on the size difference 🙄) I use it as my work bag/travel bag/beach bag... and I feel like their quality is trash. I never let it touch the floor like EVER and there is corner wear 🤔 like how. Oddly enough I don’t have strap wear issues like you do tho, I do agree with everything u said tho .. quality is trash and you deff pay for the name but it’s goes with everything so overall I do like it
