i was tempted to get 1.6 mjet engine but due to widespread weak clutch (no problem for gearbox) and timing belt need to be replaced at 120k km (soon on a used car), i instead get the 1.3 mjet due to adequate clutch and timing chain, of course an used one
Yes definitely. Bought with 16.000 kms, has now 60.000 kms done. Till now no repairs done, just normal service. Performance and Interieur quality is considering the price, absolutely okay😃
Thanks for the video, well done. I'm considering the same model, but I still hesitate. Is it loud from inside/outside, and would you recommend the manual or automatic gearbox? Also, if you have the choice, do you prefer any other model from other brands given the same price range when all are new. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!
In my opinion the car is not louder than any other car in the same category after it reached its working temperature. In fact the diesel engine seems to be very quiet compared to e.g. BMW 4 cylinder diesel engines. I‘ve driven cars which are much louder at 180 km/h +, so I guess overall loudness is okay for this specific model. Since I‘ve only driven the manual one, I can‘t give you any advise here. All I can say that the manual gearbox is really nice. Shifting gears is super easy and makes a lot of fun. No problems so far with that gearbox. My advise to you, test drive the cars you are interested in and decide for yourself. The Tipo is definitely worth the money, it feels fast, is very fuel efficient and is also quite robust (had no repairs for 50k kms).
Car has now done around 60.000 kms. Has still the first clutch and does not slip at all. How often it needs to be replaced depends on your driving Style😅😂 Guess around 50.000 kms to 300.000 kms😅 Costs I guess between 500€ and 1000€ (in Germany). Highspeed is steady yes, but not as steady as a premium car like Audi, BMW or Mercedes 😀
@@DignitasCars Yeah, but just one car is not enough to prove anything here. I agree that the condition of the timing belt depends very much on how you use it (city vs highway), but the question still remains: would you risk a complete engine failure to save few hundred euros per 6 years? Timing belts are made of materials, that are not supposed to last for a long time. Also for that reason you should always check the manufacturing date when you put the new one. And by the way, servicing has nothing to do with the lifetime of your belt, it is you, as a driver that can make a difference. Some carmakers ask to change engine oil every 30000 km. Would you follow this type of recommendation too? This is all to save the cost of maintenance of the fleet, for companies.
The best Company which provides you the easiest maintenance is Ford. In the old days there was a saying about Ford: "You almost only need a hammer and a screwdriver to maintain a Ford".
Since I've never driven a Honda Accent, I unfortunately cannot answer this question.😅 But all I can say is, that this car is quite decent. When you take also the price into account, then this car is really good, for what you have to pay😉
I quite enjoy the engine "growl" when I kick the foot down. It is definitely a family car, but with some spice though. Hint: it's ok for testing purposes once in a while to try the 100-200 in 6th gear, but don't do it too often since the clutch is a little undersized for the massive torque this engine is able to deliver. Clutch failures are perhaps the only Achille's heel of this car with the 1.6 liter diesel engine.
Thanks for the advice :) I really love the torque of this engine. It feels sooo damn fast! How much miles did you already put on your engine? Is your clutch still in good condition?
@@DignitasCars Mine is brand new, just 1500km to date. I read more than a few complains by owners on forums and groups, yet I loved the car (for the engine, and its overall design also) and bought it anyway - with a juicy extra discount since MY2020 was being discontinued. I started paying some extra attention on correctly using the gear shift, basically avoiding kickdowns while on high gears and low rpms (you can believe me you're tempted to do so!), to preserve the clutch as much as possible. Easier done than said, I'm doing this without even thinking anymore.
@@signorfrank6779 So yours is basically brand new 😃 Is it only the clutch which can't handle the torque or is it also the gearbox? Because my gearbox is quite loud, after a coldstart and makes some, lets say, not so nice sounds... 🤔 The discount on those in general is amazing. I got mine with 10.000km, 2 years old with a discount of 65%. I hope you can enjoy your car for many years 😃
@@DignitasCars more specifically many report it's just the clutch bearing pilot, but when they replace it replace also the entire kit. Gearbox is generally considered good, mine is just a little stiffer when I shift to the 1st gear, otherwise it looks perfectly fine.
@@DignitasCars It’s illegal here too believe me 😂 but the way they do it is remove the dpf cut it open knock out the insides and weld it back up so when it comes to inspection the tester sees the dpf is still in place just doesn’t know it’s empty 😉 how is your C30 CDI coming along ?
