No problem. I disagree, but okay. Write story without core conflict. Bonus points for no conflict story, no obstacles for your main character/characters. Bonus points if it will be interesting for more than 2 people.
I started writing a historical fiction story over the summer, my first time really delving into the craft of writing. I quickly realized that Jack and Squat were my two best friends when it came to what I knew about it. Needless to say my first drafts will never see the light of day - utter rubbish. Thanks for this and your other videos. I'm learning as I'm going and trying to enjoy the process of getting better.
You got this! Most of us (all of us, probably) have cringe-worthy first drafts. But you have to start somewhere. This is totally normal! The final draft will look completely different.
You can definitely learn techniques that will enable you to write a coherent story or novel, with a beginning, middle and end, but will you write a story that another person will want to purchase from you? Probably not.
@@bymegangrant I love your channel. Continue to speak your truth no matter how much people disagree with you and try to shut you down. You have a lot of smart ideas, which your followers, including me, appreciate.
Thank you for watching "Can creative writing be taught? My opinions might be controversial (not all authors agree)..."

I like the new angle for the background 😊 tons of depth. Also, yeah, I’ll just keep going, hopefully getting better and better. Cheers.
Thank you so much! And yes, keep going. You're getting better every day.
Agreed!
xoxo
I appreciate your insight!
BTW I just completed a manuscript for Archway. May I call myself a published author if I’m only hybrid-published writer?
To me, you're an author! And once it's published, you're a published author.
@@bymegangrant THANK YOU. Awaiting the green light now that I sent my manuscript. BTW, I love that Archway is owned by Simon and Schuster. 😎😂

But everyone has different tastes! :-) What you hate, another might love, and vice versa.
Your opinions are reasonable, not controversial
I appreciate that!
