- Just sharing some thoughts on my new Schwinn IC8. After weeks of being asked for this bike by my Wife, I finally caved in. Overall, it’s a great bike with some awesome features. I love the bluetooth app connectivity, it makes indoor cycling so much more fun! What do you guys think?

nice video! thx for the details. one tip: you need to adjust your saddle height! ur sitting way to low- this way you'll end up with knee injuries. best you watch a video on how to adjust your saddle height properly. keep it up
Thanks for the tip. A lot have been saying that. I should’ve mentioned all the cycling done in the video was just for show haha! My wife mainly uses it so it’s at her height by default.

Unfortunately no. Unless there are third party hardware solutions.

Thanks for the video, just ordered mine! Maybe as a short comment, since you state you are not a cyclist - the saddle needs to go a bit higher. There is various formulae for this, but basically - the knees should be slightly bend at the lowest point of the pedal stroke - and the tip of your knee should line up (looking from the top) with your pedal when the pedals are in level position. That way you are not over-straining your joints.
Thanks for the tip! I should’ve mentioned that I didn’t really set the bike up for the video because my wife uses it more often (shorter than me).

Thank you for the review, Ariff. I bought the IC8 about 5 weeks ago and totally agree with you that it is an awesome bike for a reasonable price. It just has 1 serious disadvantage when connecting to Zwift. I’m not sure if you have noticed that the power (Watts) indicated on the Zwift-screen is unrealistically high. I had to increase my body weight from 79 up to 88 kg to get a nearly realistic average speed (and Watt/kg). I’ve read somewhere that you’re not allowed to take part in Zwift races with an IC8. I don’t understand why they haven’t fixed this problem yet.
Hello Andreas! Thank you for watching my video :) I’m very new to cycling so I’m not too sure what’s a high power output for a bike. I do realise the numbers on the IC8 display are a little off compared to what’s on screen. But thanks for bringing that up, I’ll pay more attention to it on my next ride!
I have the IC8, but this problem has been around since the beginning. One of the reasons i don't use swift. They advertise it, but it doesn't work properly. Check the forum of swift: forums.zwift.com/t/schwinn-ic8-spin-bike/171514
For me swift is just biking. Better go for spinning classes, becaus on a spinningbike you stand most of the time.
I recommend using Assioma Favero pedals and this way you can get realistic watt output! It’s the best way to get accurate zwift data with IC8

@K B I don't know. I haven't used swift. I knew this issue before i even bought the bike. I just turn on a YT spinning video couple of times a week and i just start riding for 30 - 60 minutes. Every bike has his flaws. So far the bike is still fine for me (have it for a year now).

Ariff, how to connect to smart tv.?
I believe only Apple TV has the Zwift app. If not you’ll need to connect it to your phone or tablet and can consider casting the screen to the TV.

I actually just follow Apple Fitness rides now. But Zwift is a great interactive options for this bike.

Nice review. Very straightforward and informative. I bought one of these bikes about a year ago, but never really used it. I was excited to try some apps with it, but then I always use my old airdyne instead because it works upper body too. The IC4 looks cool in my living room though. This video has resparked my interest, so I will sign up for Peloton and Zwift soon. Hope you have good luck with it long term.

getting mine in next few weeks so thanks for this was in two minds life fitness ic6 or Schwinn ic8 which I both love due to using them in the gym in spinning classes in the pas, as long its super quiet while riding its what I need as I live on the second floor.

Hi, How long after purchase that you need to do maintenance?
It’s between 6-12 months depending on the frequency of the usage.

Was this maintenance expensive? Did any parts need to be replaced?
Yes some minor parts were replaced and it was free because the first two services for me is free (part of the package). I think pricing will vary depending on the country and store selling it.

Hello! Thanks for the review. I brought an IC8, 2 months ago, and I love it. But I have a question. Few days ago I started to feel at low speeds, a little skipping at the left pedal. Should I adjust drive belt tension? If yes? How? Can you tell me or upload a video how to do it?
If you just bought it then it should be under a year of warranty. Get the store to send someone to look into it. I just serviced my bike recently.
VERY GOOD and well explain no worry : i am in Switzerland planning to buy one this week, after like you visiting others brands, true this one seems to be real quality so the price should not be a problem. Just one question Q: is their a way to have connection by Bluetooh or a longer cable to connect ?? - All the best and Good ride and thnks for this Vid !!
Thanks for watching and commenting! The connection to the App is wireless (Bluetooth). There’s a USB port on the bike but that’s for charging devices (like your phone or tablet).

Ouupps just saw another Vid ....the guy seem angry against Schwinn ic7 an 8 says much to noisy and he had returned after some troubles with retailer but 3 months after it broke and the noise was the same during the 3 months.... What is opinion about this noise thing ????
I had a bit of squeaking in my chair after like 6 months, but it’s covered under warranty. So they came and replaced the loose parts. Just buy with warranty and you should be alright.

Just some cheap ones off lazada haha! It’s like 100+ only but I needed to order the cleats separately (from decathlon). You can use normal shoes too.
how's the bike after a year? and what is the clicking sound at the start of the video?
I believe that was my shoelaces, didn’t have proper cycling shoes at that time haha. Anyway it’s still going well, definitely something you want to do annual maintenance on. I’ve done mine since it was included in the purchase. We don’t use it so hardcore, just casual riding.
Someone is selling Schwinn elite for 150$ dollars. Im wondering if I should buy used or new one. The new ones cost so much. Any advice. Like your review, your bike looks very good.
That’s a normal bike right? It depends on what you’re looking to get out of it. The IC8 is an indoor spin bike. You should be able to use it anytime but it’s never gonna physically get you from Point A to Point B like a normal bike (Schwinn Elite).
@@AriffSuffian my goal is to cut down and running is good but with three knee surgeries, it's hard to do all the time without some soreness. Would you say the IC8 is better to get. The elite i think may not have as much resistance.
I think the IC8 might be the better and safer option for you in the long run.
Hello how much durability is that bike have? I want to ride 1 hour everyday. Is that a good option?
So far it’s great. Make sure to get it serviced (Once or twice a year) since you’re using it daily.

Yes, very! Especially during these uncertain pandemic times, nice to have a home cardio option. It’s a great value bike.

I like zwift. If there’s one way to get my riding, it’s definitely zwift haha. It’s awesome to be surrounded by so many petiole virtually. I even get very competitive when I see someone cutting me, I’ll try to cut them back! I haven’t been using the bike everyday because I’m quite busy with a running program. Also, you have to set the resistance manually. But zwift is mainly flat and inclines. So just set the resistance to what you feel it appropriate for the terrain.

Yep I still have it! Everything is working fine except that there are some squeaking here and there. I’ve called in for a service.

Noise is none to minimal. There’s some slight squeaking as mentioned before but that’s gonna be fixed with the servicing. My wife actually uses this more than I do, it’s great for her! I will be picking up cycling again soon once Apple fitness launches here!

It’s a mixture of crazy heat and heavy rain 😂 thankfully the bike is indoor!
what mat do you use for the bike?
It’s just a generic gym mat provided by the store!
When you use zwift can it affect power resistence so you can feel differences when you climb or ride on flat terrain?
Yes you can set the resistance but it’s done manually.
@@AriffSuffian so zwift calculates everything based on power data it receives from bike? And then mix it with virtual elevation and other data like biker weight, so then zwift can calculate speed so you can race with other people? I'm just curious how it works if zwift cannot control bike resistence.
Yes that’s right, Zwift only receives power data.

Nope! Although your local store might have a bundle option. By default it doesn’t.
@@AriffSuffian OK... yes my IC8 had no weights, no heart rate bracelet and also no wall-wart 9v power supply. I think the IC4 comes with all these. Perhaps Schwinn do this to make it easier to export to other countries, ie: less shipping weight and no need to cater for different ac power supplies.
Power supply should be included! Yeah that makes sense, logically. However I’ve seen some retailers make their own bundle with weights haha.
How does it work with Zwift? Are you happy now after using it for so many months. I don' have much budget so I am thinking to buy this. let me know
It connects via Bluetooth. Yep it’s a solid purchase. I think if I went for those cheaper OEM branded ones it wouldn’t have lasted.

I’ve seen it but never had a chance to try it. It’s cool with smart features but for a quality bike I think the more prominent brands will last longer with better quality.

I’m 1.8m plus. It’s fine for me plus you have various points of adjustments to make it fit you comfortably.
From where did you sync that power wattage figure?
It’s from the bike to the zwift app on the Apple TV. You can do it to any other smart device too.
Does the bike keep spinning if you stop pedaling, like, can you coast like a real bike?
Nope, it’ll follow what the pedals do :)
Is this the same as IC4?
Yep! IC4 and IC8 are the same bike but for different wattage (region),
I have the same one here in Singapore. Do you have a seat height number indicator? Cos I don't. And schwinn said it shouldnt be the case and i should get a replacement.

Hello, it’s a great bike. The pedals are on a chain and the resistance is using magnets.
Its worth it to buy ? Is not to laud ?
It’s a good bike that’s not too expensive. It’s not loud, not like an Assault Bike.
is this has micro resistance?
Do you mean small resistance changes? It’s a twisting knob for setting the resistance, so I think you can make very small adjustments.
