    The best I can say is that the Arctic Cat 'may' be more reliable, but a used ATV really depends on how it was treated, maintained, and cared for. Typically the Japanese brands hold up much better over the long haul.

    Radial tires are great. I switched the stock bias-ply tires on my Dad's 06 big bear with Badlands Xtr radials (same as what came stock on my '05 arctic cat400) and the Big Bear instantly became more stable and had a nicer, less bouncy ride.

    @zmattos00 I bet what you mean is that it's the best machine your brother has ever owned.....

    I'd opt for some other choices !

    @cdawg4391 Radials are an incredible cure-all for the handling of ATVs!

    Arctic Cat's are a tall and heavy machine. If you are getting it for your girlfriend I'd suggest something in the 400cc - 500cc class.

    Interestingly enough, the Big Bear with the radials (and the single axle rear) is actually more stable now in off camber situations than is my Arctic Cat with IRS! This wasn't the case when the Yammy was equipped with the standard Maxxis bias-plys.

    @bree800 Aren't Arctic Cats more reliable than Can Ams?

  • @bree800
    @bree800 14 років тому +2

    @ATVTVCOM Not that I've ever heard, my buddy's beat the hell out of their CanAms and I hardly ever open my throttle up and their machines work great, I meen comeon, 610 miles in 6 years, what a joke .....

    Ok, I've changed the plugs AGAIN, ran Seafoam through it for about a mile now, readjusted the carbs, out 2 turns from seating and it still backfires through the carbs and the exhaust, will idle for about 2 minutes than stalls, won't restart for about 5 mins. HHHHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP !!!!!

    @ATVTVCOM That's weird, I would think if you didn't ride it much all your parts would be newer and it would operate better, if you run them hard and alot i thought parts would wear out, huh, just me I guess !!!

  • @ATVTVCOM
    @ATVTVCOM  14 років тому +1

    @bree800 Although I was kidding....It is kinda weird that you only have 610 miles on your machine in 6 years! I know people that put that on in a week here on the Paiute Trail!

    @Derek130b The CVT system isn't as efficient and I think it weights considerably more.

    @ATVTVCOM you know we may not know this guy so he could be lying. just a suggestion

  • @ATVTVCOM
    @ATVTVCOM  14 років тому

    @Derek130b Slower. More weight. Less efficient drivetrain.

  • @ATVTVCOM
    @ATVTVCOM  14 років тому

    @zmattos00 That's great, but using an ATV once hardly results in a qualified opinion.
