My daughter also read the book and however she already went on vacation to Crete once, we decided to go for 1 week together so we will be able to visit Spinalonga ourselves. We will walk there ourselves within 1 month!!!
Hi,me too,i just finished reading today,came home and logged on to see how accurate it was,amazing really.especially the tunnel,i can just imagine Kyria and then Maria walking through there to meet their loved ones.
As I saw the tunnel it felt as if I had been there. But I only read the book..."The Island" of Victoria Hislop. It was amazing how it was written and I became curious about the island... Terrible history...

I went to thia island a few years ago. Been to elounda 6 times. Love it and crete

Just read the book,as many others here,and had to see the reality of primitive quarantine to protect others

i went with my family last year while on hoilday in crete and my mum and dad were shocked that it was open during his life it closed in the 60s
