The fact that you can knock yourself out by running and tripping in order to sleep is both a very intuitive game mechanic and also hilarious
Wish I had watched all of this before deciding to do it. Instead I ran in circles for 30 minutes only to teleport back to the gate and find my base with props thrown everywhere.
10/10 amazing easter egg.
31:24 I havent seen anybody mention this yet, but for a split second, in that "blackfog", you can see what looks like 2 red eyes (if you can't see the frame, try finding it using the "," and "." keys)
@digpan Could be. At first I tought it was just a glitch from the red lights in the satellites but I decided to mention it cause when I compared frame by frame, I realized the red lights don't align with the other 2 dots
But then again, like you said, could have been graphic artifacts all along
@@Eye-Of-The-Beholder the perspective of the camera is probably the reason that it doesn't line up with the satellite's light.

This is seriously giving me SCP-087-B flashbacks
I just found your channel and it gave me insight on several things I have missed.
This one I already experienced myself, but it was still interesting to see another take on it.
However this video was extremely dark and I could barely make out anything, so I wanted to say that next time you visit a dark place, it might be worth bringing a lantern from the Hole as it gives off more light and can be held in the hand.
There's also the spotlight head, but I haven't got experience with using that as a portable light source.

i went down this staircase myself, gave me very scp 087-b vibes, and kinda like scp-087 and -b, it just sort of ends very abruptly. i honestly wish it would have crashed your game or something of the sorts

It was a very specific set of circumstances, but after a while a lot of people realised that there was a universal "witching hour" that triggered certain paranormal things in the world if done at that time and this was one of them. The only hint to fall down the basement ladder was the diary journal down there from the former worker who fell down there one day.
The dev probably added 3:33 to scare Joel lol

did this myself after the mess the whoever made i mostly fixed i went to sleep and i got a message on the right corner it said the following i only managed to get two words out i will not sure if its attached to the event or not i was playing infinite
I pressed c at the very bottom and… it teleported me above the world box
for some reason instead of being teleported back to the gate, i fell through the stairs and landed on the upper barrier of the world somehow?
So how did you get out of the "end" of the staircase? Was that just you glitching outside of the wall & oob resetting your position, or was it a scripted event?
My guess is that once you pass out from the lack of sleep it teleports you to the surface. To test this you could try going there (The first time in a save) with about 50% stamina and see if you make it to the point with the invisible wall or if you just stand up again after fainting. Bring coffee so you can quickly continue to the end if it does not teleport you. Also interesting to know if you actually have to be at the end. Maybe it just throws you out after a certain time.
Once you get down to the "bottom" I couldn't go any further down and I assume that the game teleports you back into bounds if you are considered out of bounds.
I have been trying to get this to work with no luck. Do I need the gray edition or something?
Hello, the Grey edition is a joke build and doesn't have anything to do with this easter egg.
Are you doing this in Story or Sandbox/Infinite? Most events like these are only available in the Story mode. Sandbox mode disables these events as they would be discovered too easily and ruin the mysteriousness. This event can be done on any day and repeatedly in Story.
@@thevoicesnetwork I am on story, maybe I'm just doing it wrong, hell maybe I did something that prevent's you from actually doing it at all. I will give it another go tomorrow and see what happen's. BTW I love your channel, using it as a guide for finding the mysteries in this game, on my third playthrough and have just realized I have only seen a small chunk of what this game offer's. Great content, keep up the good work!
@@EpicSmileyMan64 Thank you for the kind words, I really do appreciate hearing that! Definitely do keep on trying. You have to fall down at exactly 3:33, otherwise it won't activate the staircase. It's a narrow hole so it can be difficult to purposely fall down it.
@@thevoicesnetwork So I got it to work and got all the same result's you did, one thing you didn't bring up is how the door stay's open after this event, so you can go down there freely once you have done it once. Wonder what this will lead to if anything.

yeah it had serious potential but IMO the weakest secret I've found so far in the game, but it can be easily tweaked to make it more scary so hopefully nose revisits it
My guess at the end is that you missed the graviton event while underground
Same thing happened to me when I tried it, so I don't think it was the gravity event.
unfortunately, that's not it, as the base being ransacked occurs every time you go through it. what I wish to know is when this occurs. is it when you hear the wolf howl? or when you reach the "end" of the staircase?

@@jesusramirezromo2037 You can't view cameras without being at the laptop in the base, and they don't exactly record like real security cameras so unfortunately that wouldn't work
