  • With support from the Pulitzer Center, Military.com worked with veterans and scientists to investigate health risks among America’s nuclear missile workers, which hadn’t been studied since the early 2000s. What they found was troubling. Bill Burich, director of the Torchlight Initiative, and Military.com reporter Thomas Novelly discussed the health system challenges that veterans who worked with ICBMs face and possible solutions. Pulitzer Center Senior Editor Susan Ferriss moderated.

It was frustrating at first to hear the enlisted core was getting put on the back burner for studies. Glad to hear that, along with LCCS that LFs will be studied. After 21 yrs of being a 2M0X2 mostly at Minot AFB, I hope the enlisted get the deep dive investigation also.

That’s a fact! PPE for cleaning isn’t a one time use.

Thank you all for talking about this and the work you're doing. I can 100% relate to the feeling of becoming a hypochondriac. I was a missilier 20 years ago. Everytime I start to not feel right I think "this is it, they're going to tell me I have cancer".

Chromate is also another thing that isn’t taken serious. It’s very common to get chromate on your skin on a daily basis. At least once in your career you’re bound to get it in your mouth or open cuts/wounds.

The petspective that was omnipotent--turned into a viable, impmementef Perspective. This is a very technical Governmental Term.
Maybe, that is why 'it" was implemented...spend money now at a comparativy low cost vis-a-vis a much higher price later and NOT be prepared for known/ unknown events.
Planning is best. That was agreed 50vyears ago.
Planning And Budgeting Office-holderd might have something to ask of American's opinions NOW!
    (as in...WE told you so!)
Oh...thank you, ladies abd gentlemen for tour science and diligence.
Money well spent then, i'd say!
