    You might want to check out a median filter over a Gaussian blur. The idea is that, sample 3 pixels horizontally and replace current pixel value to the median of that values. For example, if the wire is pure white and it's only 1 pixel thick and the shoes have a black colour. The 3 consecutive pixel colours around the wire would be black, white, and black. The middle value of the three is black, so the wire colour would be replaced to the black colour. It's a common computer vision line noise removal technology

    Thank you SO much!!! I thought for sure that as you were teaching it, I was gonna notice the gaussian blur, but sure enough, the moement you zoom back out to full scale, it's barely noticeable! Great advice and great video!

    I remember my first draw mask lol. It took me a solid 5 commercials to finally understand! Good to know you add in the mask after the transforms, that is going to save some time.

    Truly amazing Daniel ! Being a FCP user I truly wish they came out with a proper plugin for scenarios like this as it's still a pain to execute , you nailed it on the head when you said "plan it before filming"as it will help you later in post. Hopefully Apple is watching ... they need to mimic Premier/after effects removal features with a few clicks.

      Simple Wire remover is clutch in aftereffect especially product on skewer on electric turntable.
      With simple wire remove, it would only take me 10 mins compare to mask it manually. It would take 4 hours.

    That was easy : ) For one of my video I created a 25 frames sequence and edited each frame in photoshop, exported back to FCPX and got a 1 sec video without wire )

    Please may I know How would you fill in a gap on an object? I followed your steps as I removed a skewer from a rice cake by masking it. But now I have a little gap in the rice cake and it is obvious with the eye. How do I fill that area in? You are a good teacher, thank you. I am a complete beginner and your vids help a lot. Also at the end once you have done the editing, do you leave all the duplicates there as it is? I noticed when colour correcting afterwards, the colour correction only affected the area I masked, so i think I am missing a step somewhere

      @brunobattaglia9003 8 місяців тому +1

      I do not know about the gap, maybe I did not understand, but regarding the color grading, u should nest all the layers into one sequence and then do the color correction, this will probably solve it.

    dude, it seems to me that it will be better if you take a screenshot, remove the thread in photoshop, and add a mask over the video. adding tracking.

    Couldn't you have just shot the background before you hung the shoe and used that for a layer?

  • @kirkgolembiewski7220
    @kirkgolembiewski7220 10 місяців тому

    Just to make a quick comment about the skate shot. You shot it in a 2D plain so there’s literally no reason to dangle it…you could’ve just laid it down on a table and it would’ve looked the same
