Hi brother Colton! Great question. The year 1844 AD and the beginning of the judgment is based on the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14. I have a detailed presentation on this important time prophecy which is connected to the 70 week prophecy of Daniel 9 if you are interested. Hi brother! Thanks for your excellent question. You are correct that Caesar Augustus ruled for a long time. In fact, he was the longest ruling Roman emperor, ruling for about 40 years. As you are probably aware the Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the original word translated as "few" in English is a word that has several meanings obviously depending on the context. One of those meanings is simply "a certain amount" which I think would be a much better translation. In an earlier part of Daniel (chapter 4) God had already revealed to Nebuchadnezzar His sovereignty over the earth, "the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will." (Daniel 4:17) So just like Nebuchadnezzar was given power to rule for a certain period of time so also God gave Caesar Augustus a certain period of time to rule. This would be clearer if the fact that the priesthood of Babylon that fled Babylon brought and eventually gave their practice and title to the Roman Caesars then this pagan religious practice was taken up by the papacy and continues to this day. I believe it is that of Mithraism, and came with the fish-god vestments and miter head wear. Which we see today on the various orders of papal priest, cardinals, etc
Excellent point! When I presented this several years ago I was not aware that the Chaldean priesthood fled from Babylon when Cyrus the Great invaded and continued their sun worship in what later became part of the Roman Empire. There is indeed a direct historical and prophetic link between Babylon and Rome and the papal Rome we see today. Great wonderful teaching until we get to 1:29:02. Michael is Michael and Jesus is referred to as Messiah.. if the writer wanted to say Michael is Messiah, then they would have said so as these have been properly identified in the Book Already. Michael did not get cut off for the people not Michael. It was great until that point.

There is a great explanation for this in Louis Were's book "The King of the North at Jersualem" on page 89 where he explains the following in relation to Daniel 11: "In the study of the prophecies it is advisable to heed the sequence of events, but there will be seen a looping back in connection with the CLIMAX... Bible students do not think it strange for the prophet, as he proceeds with his advance sketch of history, to break the chronological sequence or continuity of his narrative, and to step back into the past in order to record other interesting facts connected with the rise of the Roman power. This he does for the purpose of providing additional points of identification. Numerous instances of this practice will occur to the minds of all who are acquainted with sacred or secular literature." So the prophet Daniel is looping back to provide further details to identify the power of Rome in these verses. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for your comment and question. "Caesar" actually comes from the Bible, not a family name: Melchizedek, Melchisedech, Melkisetek, or Malki Tzedek, Hebrew: מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶֿק malkī-ṣeḏeq, "king of righteousness". Tzedek eventually came to mean "prince", and was translated to caesar, kaiser, czar/tsar, and also the name Carl and Charles come from this word, as in Charlemagne/Carloman, of the Carolingian Franks. The Germanic karls, the Earls of nobility and the Viking Jarls also come from this word. "Sar" means prince, just as the name Sarah means princess. Kings and priests in the Order of Melchizedek. "A Tzaddik is one who embodies the religious ideals of Judaism. In the Bible, a tzaddiq is a just or righteous man (Genesis 6:9), who, if a ruler, rules justly or righteously (II Samuel 23:3) and who takes joy in justice (Proverbs 21:15)."
Michael standing up simply means he rises. Michael is an angel that protects God's people and when he rises, he'll take his protection power from the earth and the devil will have no restraining entity to prevent him from decimating the world. Check out 2nd Thessalonians. Michael is "he who now letteth will let until he be taken out of the way " It coincides seamlessly with Dan 12:1
Hi Mr. Black! There has been a lot of debate as to who Michael is. I believe the key is to let the Bible interpret itself. The word "angel" simply means "messenger" and is applied to both supernatural beings as well as people in Scripture. For example, John the Baptist is called a "messenger" and the exact same Greek word for angel is used. (See Matthew 11:10) The name "Michael" means "who is like God." I believe it is a statement describing the divine character of Michael and another name for Jesus Christ. The Bible has many names for Jesus that speak to His different attributes. In the book of Jude Michael is called the "archangel" which means He is the commander of the angels, not necessarily and angel Himself. And in Revelation 12 before Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven he fought with his angels against Michael and His angels. Satan was fighting against Jesus and the loyal angels. But the clearest, and most simple interpretation comes from comparing 2 Bible passages, John 5:28,29 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16. In John 5:28 Jesus says that all of those who have died and are in their graves when He comes back the second time will be resurrected by His voice. In 1 Thessalonians 4:16 it says the voice of the archangel calls forth the dead from their graves. Therefore the voice of the archangel, who is Michael, is none other than the voice of Jesus Himself. The book of Daniel is perhaps the most difficult of the prophecies. In it there are many things "hard to be understood." Many who study Daniel 11 mistakenly think that it is a narrative of historical events beginning from the leopard kingdom, Greece, through the history of pagan Rome, and then to papal Rome. They overlook a very important key verse: Daniel 8:19. Daniel 11:1-5 picks up from, and expands Daniel 8:19-22. Gabriel says very explicitly that he has come to make Daniel to understand events that are to take place in the LAST END of the indignation. The "LAST END" is clearly explained in the same verse to be "The time appointed." Daniel 11:19. The "LAST END" and the "time appointed" are the same as The "end of years" 11:6 "After certain years" 11:13 "The end" at the "time appointed" 11:27 "The time appointed" 11:29 "The time of the end" 11:35 "The time of the end" 11:40 "At THAT time" 12:1. The "time of the end" is the "time appointed" is the "LAST END." We cannot go outside of Gabriel's words: to make Daniel, and us, to understand events from "The LAST END." Daniel 11 from verse 6 is NOT a narrative of secular, historical events involving pagan Rome, and Antiochus Epiphanies, or Cambyses, or some other historical figure, or the making of a so called agreement with the Jews. The entire book of Daniel 11, from verse 6 onwards, is about the papacy and the United States, or the false prophet; false Protestantism uniting with the papacy. Daniel 11 is very strangely repetitive; almost every other verse repeating and adding to the previous verse, and calls for a very careful line upon line comparison in order to put the pieces together. Otherwise one will misunderstand the entire book, thinking that a narrative of past, consecutive, sequential, historical events is being outlined. For example, 11:19-21 gives the impression that you are dealing with three distinct entities arising one after the other, the last being the "vile person." But, Daniel 11:19 "and he shall stumble and fall, and not be found" is of the same order as, or saying the same thing as, "And he shall be broken without hand." 8:25; Or, "Yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him." 11:45, Or, "But the Judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto THE END " Daniel 11:19,20 are of the same order: the destruction of the papacy, as it were, in a nutshell; a very precise SUMMARY. The "LEAGUE" in verse 23 has absolutely nothing to do with any treaty between the Jews and the Romans in the historical past, but to the union of Church and State, the image of the beast, in the future. "LEAGUE" is the same as "INTELLIGENCE" in verse 30, Which is the same as "AGREEMENT" in verse 6, and is the same as "FLATTERIES" in verse 32, and "PEACEABLY" in verses 24 and 21. The "LEAGUE" "INTELLIGENCE" "AGREEMENT" "FLATTERIES" "PEACE" is the "LIES" that they shall speak "At one table." 11:27. "Devising deceitful matters" against them that are quiet in the land," the righteous. "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing..." Psalms 2:1-3. Psalms 28:3 "Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of INIQUITY, which speak PEACE to their neighbours, but MISCHIEF is in their hearts." Psalms 35:20 "For they speak not PEACE: but they DEVISE (forecast devices, Daniel 11:25) deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land." "Speak lies at one TABLE" This "Table" is explained in 1 Corinthians 10:20,21. The Eucharist. Those that "forsake the holy Covenant" 11:30,32, are the "upright ones" that are with him in verse 17, which is the same as "a small people" 11:23. When Deuteronomy 7:7 is compared, "small people" clearly refers to God's people, the "fewest of ALL people" who "forsake the holy Covenant." 11:23 is clearly those who have "forsaken the holy Covenant" The "falling away" apostate Protestantism. The "falling away" spoken of by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2, and 1 Timothy 4:1. Apostate Protestant America; the false prophet. Verse 35 is the same as 12:10. The "Tidings out of the east and out of the north" 11:44, is explained by verse 33, and Revelation 7:1-3; 14:6-12. The Tidings out of the east and north are the Three Angels' Messages of Revelation 14:6-12. "And they that UNDERSTAND among the people shall instruct many" Daniel 11:33,44. refers to Revelation 14:6-12 and is connected to Daniel 12:10. Many misinterpret Daniel 11 because they ignore Gabriel's clear direction: "I will make thee (and us who are living in last days) know what shall be the LAST END of the indignation." Daniel 8:19. You, too, have stumbled at the same point. Daniel 11 from verse 6 begins "At the time of the end", the "time appointed." You cannot therefore begin with an historical narrative of the secular events of the Roman Empire. The "king of the north" is the papacy. The "king of the south" is the United States of America, apostate Protestant America; SPIRITUAL EGYPT in the last days; the LAST END of the indignation. "And both these kings' hearts shall be to do MISCHIEF..." 11:27. Your explanation is totally incorrect. The Scriptures defines "mischief" as, Perverting "The right ways of the LORD." Acts 13:10. Proverbs 4:16 For they sleep not, except they have done MISCHIEF; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to FALL (AWAY)." Proverbs 6:14, referring to the Evil man, the man of sin, "Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth MISCHIEF continually; he soweth discord." "Both these kings..." are, (1) The papacy, and, (2) the United States of America, false Protestantism. Revelation 13:11. "But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over ALL the precious things of Egypt, so that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the Mark...." Daniel 11:43; Revelation 13:17. America, the king of the south, "pushes" at the king of the north, the papacy, with the "two horns" like a lamb; but eventually speaks "as a dragon." Your understanding of Daniel 11 is flawed; it is a literal, secular, and not what is called for - a spiritual, understanding.

I'm sorry I'm not sure I'm following... Daniel 11 provides a historical series of events from the time of Darius the Mede (c. 539 B.C.) all the way to the second coming of Jesus, alluded to in vs. 45. It could be helpful to see that true science and history are always in perfect harmony with God's word and Bible prophecy. Bible prophecy is really just history in advance before it happens. There is a lot that has been missed... Before the Roman empire rose to great power there was one more wicked King from the Seleucid Empire. According to Daniel 8 there was another horn that spawned off another horn.. It said at the latter times of the four kingdoms of Greece.. His name was Antiochus IV Epiphanies...
The problem with this view is that the Seleucid dynasty consisted of a line of more than 20 kings who ruled from 311 to 65 B.C., and Antiochus IV was the eighth in line of those kings (he ruled from 175 to 164/3 B.C.). Because more than a dozen Seleucids ruled after him, and fewer than a dozen ruled before him, he hardly arose “at the latter end of their rule.”

He is DEFINITELY (not most likely!) putting the occurrence of this in the future (thus invalidating Antiochus IV Epiphanies) In addition to this, @Brian Hindman has already clearly invalidated the point concerning the "latter end of their rule". It cannot apply to Antiochus IV Epiphanies. This is why Jesus is calling for anyone who reads this to UNDERSTAND because He knew interpretations were going to come which will try to obscure who the little horn is.
True, to date no historical evidence has been found. But Luke's gospel has been proven accurate in references to 32 countries, 54 cities, and 9 islands and a host of other historical details. Personally, I don't think the absence of a historical record alone proves Luke and the chronology of Bible prophecy in Daniel 9 is in error.
The scriptural account indicates "And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria." which puts secular history at odds with the Biblical record by nearly 10 years.
Hi mcgeorgerl! Thanks for your comment. Although the KJV is my favorite translation, I don’t think they got it quite right in the verse you cited. The word “governor” (hegemoneuo) is a generic term and archaeological evidence has shown that in some sense Quirinius was twice a ruler in Syria, the first of which can be reconciled with Luke 2:2. Some translations pick up on this distinction such as the NKJV and CSB. The NET Bible has a translator note that says: “This term could refer to an administrative role Quirinius held as opposed to being governor.” Considering all of the other accurate historical markers in Luke (such as 5 alone in Luke 3:1) I think he is very trustworthy. @@UNCHindman When secular history and the Biblical record are at odds, I side with the scripture. I'm not a stranger to how languages work and how words and meanings change over time and how we, quite often, call up specific definitions when a more general definition is required. The word 'governor' bothers me not in the least. I'll just assume he was doing precisely what is written. Otherwise, I'd have to understand why we was being a mechanical device used to limit the the speed of an engine. Let me tell you a story about languages and lesson that I learned. Of all places, I was standing in front of the toilet in the men's room at work. While doing what was necessary I could not help but to notice that the seat protector dispenser was broken and the cardboard holder from which the tissue protectors would be torn was exposed. I started reading (I read everything... it's a curse) the instructions to load the dispenser in all three languages (English, Spanish and French). I had to laugh. The word for the bundle of tear-off tissues was 'pad' in English, 'bloque' in Spanish and ''paquet' in French. Now you'll probably see that those words 'bloque' and 'paquet' also come back to us as 'block' and 'packet' in translation. So I started, later of course, creating sentences using those words in ways not related to ANY of the meanings on the instructions. "I walked down the block quickly from the store to get to my pad because I was very hungry and had just bought a packet of new soup mix I wanted to try." Sometimes it's best to understand the concept of the word rather than what the lexicons suggest. Have a good weekend, sir.
Wow, thank you for sharing a personal story and application! I agree people can sometimes miss the forest for the trees by wrangling over word meanings. I may even be guilty of this myself at times. 😳 I also heartily agree that if there appears to be a discrepancy with secular history and the Biblical record I always side with Scripture. The Bible wasn't written to be a history book but it is inspired by God and is not "cunningly devised fables." Speaking of history recorded in the Bible I find it fascinating that entire civilizations like the ancient Assyrians were thought to be in question until just (relatively) recently Austen Layard "rediscovered" them in the 1840's. The more archaeologists dig up the past the more evidence for the validity and accuracy of the Bible is found. God bless you my friend. 🙏

Hi brother Ross! While I don't agree with all of the historical interpretation of this chart I will leave the link up for a reference. One critical piece lacking is the Biblical shift in focus from literal Israel up to the time of the cross to spiritual Israel (the church) going forward. [See Romans 2:28,29; Romans 9:6-8; Galatians 3:7; 26-29.] This is especially important when interpreting verses 40-45 which are now in process of fulfillment. The King of the North will not enter or invade LITERAL Israel, but rather will enter and invade into the CHURCH. [Compare 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4 and 1 Corinthians 3:16,17] God bless!

Daniel’s book on “The World War.” Brother Uriah Smith laid no claims to “inspiration,” but his view on the king of the North is well established by Sister White in speaking of one occasion when he spoke on the “Eastern Question.” This you can read in Volume 4 of the Testimonies, page 278-279 where she called the discourse “a subject of special interest,” etc. It would bother those holding another view than what he advocated to find a word from her favouring their views. One Brother who had intimated in his writing on the subject that the king of the North might be the pope, told me that Sister White told him he “never should have intimated any such thing, and that his idea would only create confusion.” This was not put in print, but it was what he told me in Autumn 1878. The godly pioneers of the Advent Movement, from their consecrated study of the Word of God, came to the conclusion that the power referred to in the closing verses of Daniel 11 was the papacy. Their belief they expressed in "A Word to the Little Flock," pg. 9. After quoting Daniel 12:1 we read: "This last power that treads the saints is brought to view in Revelation 13:11-18. His number is 666." Interpreting the king of the north as Turkey in the final verses of Daniel 11 violates at least 2 principles of interpretation. The first is the repeat and enlarge principle where Daniel 2, 7, 8 & 9, and 11 all cover the same time period. No where is Turkey to be found in the previous prophetic outlines and to insert it in Daniel 11 is to go contrary to the identification of the papacy as the final power to oppress God's people which is clearly revealed in Daniel 2, 7, and 8. The second principle of interpretation is that after Daniel 9 and the end of the 70-week prophecy, we are no longer dealing with literal Israel and literal Jerusalem in a strictly geographic sense but now spiritual Israel or the church is the people of God and the geographical terms of north and south are to be understood in a global and worldwide spiritual sense.
Hi my friend! Thanks for your comment. God called Abraham to be an example of faith to the world, and promised to bless him and his posterity. Literal Israel was chosen and highly favored of God to represent His character and His plan to redeem and save all who would accept Him by faith (Genesis 12:3). The Bible has never taught that salvation is by DNA or lineage but rather by faith. Although by the time Jesus came to earth many of the Jews incorrectly believed they were saved and better than others because they were descendants of Abraham. Jesus makes clear that only those (both Jews & Gentiles) who accept Him as their Savior by faith are the true "descendants" or children of Abraham. To understand this Bible principle I invite you to examine the following passages of Scripture: --Romans 9:6,7 "For they are NOT all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children:" --Romans 2:28,29 "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly." --Galatians 3:7, "Know ye therefore that they which are of FAITH, the SAME are the children of Abraham." --Galatians 3:29, "And if ye be Christ's, THEN are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." I hope you will take the time to read over these verses and see that the true Israel of God includes everyone who accepts Jesus by faith, which includes both literal Jews and non-Jews. Hebrews 11:6 makes clear that with faith, it is impossible to please God. Since the fall of Adam & Eve this is the only condition on which salvation is possible to all humanity. Hi brother Ralph! I agree with you that Antiochus Epiphanes did defile or desecrate the Temple in 164 B.C. This is the popular view that he is the one who "took away the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination that maketh desolate" (Daniel 11:31). However, can you explain why Jesus (who lived 164+ years after Antiochus) pointed forward to the abomination of desolation?? "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)" (Mattew 24:15) If you would have watched the first part of the video you would have known that the events in Daniel 11 before the cross relate to literal Israel and the literal geographic enemies around Israel. But after the cross the events of Daniel 11 apply to spiritual Israel (the church) and the spiritual enemies of the church, typified in symbols. The Biblical basis for this is found in Daniel 9 and the 70-week prophecy and the clear teaching of New Testament authors. See for example Romans 2:28,29; Romans 9:6; Galatians 3:7,29; Galatians 6:16. One final advice of caution, it was the "fathers of the Church" that crucified Jesus Christ. We must be careful to respect the leaders God has placed in His church while at the same time studying for ourselves to know what is truth and what is error. Hi brother Colton! Great question. The year 1844 AD and the beginning of the judgment is based on the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14. I have a detailed presentation on this important time prophecy which is connected to the 70 week prophecy of Daniel 9 if you are interested. I'm confused about Daniel 11:20. How do you interpret "but within few days he shall be destroyed" since Caesar Augustus ruled for a long time?
Hi brother! Thanks for your excellent question. You are correct that Caesar Augustus ruled for a long time. In fact, he was the longest ruling Roman emperor, ruling for about 40 years. As you are probably aware the Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the original word translated as "few" in English is a word that has several meanings obviously depending on the context. One of those meanings is simply "a certain amount" which I think would be a much better translation. In an earlier part of Daniel (chapter 4) God had already revealed to Nebuchadnezzar His sovereignty over the earth, "the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will." (Daniel 4:17) So just like Nebuchadnezzar was given power to rule for a certain period of time so also God gave Caesar Augustus a certain period of time to rule. This would be clearer if the fact that the priesthood of Babylon that fled Babylon brought and eventually gave their practice and title to the Roman Caesars then this pagan religious practice was taken up by the papacy and continues to this day. I believe it is that of Mithraism, and came with the fish-god vestments and miter head wear. Which we see today on the various orders of papal priest, cardinals, etc

When I presented this several years ago I was not aware that the Chaldean priesthood fled from Babylon when Cyrus the Great invaded and continued their sun worship in what later became part of the Roman Empire. Michael is Michael and Jesus is referred to as Messiah.. if the writer wanted to say Michael is Messiah, then they would have said so as these have been properly identified in the Book Already. Greetings, my friend! Very sorry for the delay in responding to your excellent question. There is a great explanation for this in Louis Were's book "The King of the North at Jersualem" on page 89 where he explains the following in relation to Daniel 11:
"In the study of the prophecies it is advisable to heed the sequence of events, but there will be seen a looping back in connection with the CLIMAX... Bible students do not think it strange for the prophet, as he proceeds with his advance sketch of history, to break the chronological sequence or continuity of his narrative, and to step back into the past in order to record other interesting facts connected with the rise of the Roman power. This he does for the purpose of providing additional points of identification. Numerous instances of this practice will occur to the minds of all who are acquainted with sacred or secular literature."

"Caesar" actually comes from the Bible, not a family name: Melchizedek, Melchisedech, Melkisetek, or Malki Tzedek, Hebrew: מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶֿק malkī-ṣeḏeq, "king of righteousness". Tzedek eventually came to mean "prince", and was translated to caesar, kaiser, czar/tsar, and also the name Carl and Charles come from this word, as in Charlemagne/Carloman, of the Carolingian Franks. The Germanic karls, the Earls of nobility and the Viking Jarls also come from this word. "Sar" means prince, just as the name Sarah means princess. Kings and priests in the Order of Melchizedek. "A Tzaddik is one who embodies the religious ideals of Judaism. In the Bible, a tzaddiq is a just or righteous man (Genesis 6:9), who, if a ruler, rules justly or righteously (II Samuel 23:3) and who takes joy in justice (Proverbs 21:15)."
Michael standing up simply means he rises. Michael is an angel that protects God's people and when he rises, he'll take his protection power from the earth and the devil will have no restraining entity to prevent him from decimating the world. Check out 2nd Thessalonians. Michael is "he who now letteth will let until he be taken out of the way " It coincides seamlessly with Dan 12:1
Hi Mr. Black! There has been a lot of debate as to who Michael is. I believe the key is to let the Bible interpret itself. The word "angel" simply means "messenger" and is applied to both supernatural beings as well as people in Scripture. For example, John the Baptist is called a "messenger" and the exact same Greek word for angel is used. (See Matthew 11:10) The name "Michael" means "who is like God." I believe it is a statement describing the divine character of Michael and another name for Jesus Christ. The Bible has many names for Jesus that speak to His different attributes.
In the book of Jude Michael is called the "archangel" which means He is the commander of the angels, not necessarily and angel Himself. And in Revelation 12 before Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven he fought with his angels against Michael and His angels. Satan was fighting against Jesus and the loyal angels.
But the clearest, and most simple interpretation comes from comparing 2 Bible passages, John 5:28,29 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16. In John 5:28 Jesus says that all of those who have died and are in their graves when He comes back the second time will be resurrected by His voice. In 1 Thessalonians 4:16 it says the voice of the archangel calls forth the dead from their graves. Therefore the voice of the archangel, who is Michael, is none other than the voice of Jesus Himself. The book of Daniel is perhaps the most difficult of the prophecies. In it there are many things "hard to be understood."
Many who study Daniel 11 mistakenly think that it is a narrative of historical events beginning from the leopard kingdom, Greece, through the history of pagan Rome, and then to papal Rome.
They overlook a very important key verse: Daniel 8:19.
Daniel 11:1-5 picks up from, and expands Daniel 8:19-22.
Gabriel says very explicitly that he has come to make Daniel to understand events that are to take place in the LAST END of the indignation.
The "LAST END" is clearly explained in the same verse to be
"The time appointed." Daniel 11:19.
The "LAST END" and the "time appointed" are the same as
The "end of years" 11:6
"After certain years" 11:13
"The end" at the "time appointed" 11:27
"The time appointed" 11:29
"The time of the end" 11:35
"The time of the end" 11:40
"At THAT time" 12:1.
The "time of the end" is the "time appointed" is the "LAST END."
We cannot go outside of Gabriel's words: to make Daniel, and us, to understand events from "The LAST END."
Daniel 11 from verse 6 is NOT a narrative of secular, historical events involving pagan Rome, and Antiochus Epiphanies, or Cambyses, or some other historical figure, or the making of a so called agreement with the Jews.
The entire book of Daniel 11, from verse 6 onwards, is about the papacy and the United States, or the false prophet; false Protestantism uniting with the papacy.
Daniel 11 is very strangely repetitive; almost every other verse repeating and adding to the previous verse, and calls for a very careful line upon line comparison in order to put the pieces together.
Otherwise one will misunderstand the entire book, thinking that a narrative of past, consecutive, sequential, historical events is being outlined. For example,
11:19-21 gives the impression that you are dealing with three distinct entities arising one after the other, the last being the "vile person."
But,
Daniel 11:19 "and he shall stumble and fall, and not be found" is of the same order as, or saying the same thing as,
"And he shall be broken without hand." 8:25;
Or,
"Yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him." 11:45,
Or,
"But the Judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto THE END "
Daniel 11:19,20 are of the same order: the destruction of the papacy, as it were, in a nutshell; a very precise SUMMARY.
The "LEAGUE" in verse 23 has absolutely nothing to do with any treaty between the Jews and the Romans in the historical past, but to the union of Church and State, the image of the beast, in the future.
"LEAGUE" is the same as "INTELLIGENCE" in verse 30, Which is the same as "AGREEMENT" in verse 6, and is the same as "FLATTERIES" in verse 32, and "PEACEABLY" in verses 24 and 21.
The "LEAGUE" "INTELLIGENCE" "AGREEMENT" "FLATTERIES" "PEACE" is the "LIES" that they shall speak "At one table." 11:27.
"Devising deceitful matters" against them that are quiet in the land," the righteous.
"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing..." Psalms 2:1-3.
Psalms 28:3
"Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of INIQUITY, which speak PEACE to their neighbours, but MISCHIEF is in their hearts."
Psalms 35:20
"For they speak not PEACE: but they DEVISE (forecast devices, Daniel 11:25) deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land."
"Speak lies at one TABLE"
This "Table" is explained in 1 Corinthians 10:20,21. The Eucharist.
Those that "forsake the holy Covenant" 11:30,32, are the "upright ones" that are with him in verse 17, which is the same as "a small people" 11:23.
When Deuteronomy 7:7 is compared, "small people" clearly refers to God's people, the "fewest of ALL people" who "forsake the holy Covenant."
11:23 is clearly those who have "forsaken the holy Covenant" The "falling away" apostate Protestantism.
The "falling away" spoken of by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2, and 1 Timothy 4:1.
Apostate Protestant America; the false prophet.
Verse 35 is the same as 12:10.
The "Tidings out of the east and out of the north" 11:44, is explained by verse 33, and Revelation 7:1-3; 14:6-12.
The Tidings out of the east and north are the Three Angels' Messages of Revelation 14:6-12.
"And they that UNDERSTAND among the people shall instruct many" Daniel 11:33,44.
refers to Revelation 14:6-12 and is connected to Daniel 12:10.
Many misinterpret Daniel 11 because they ignore Gabriel's clear direction:
"I will make thee (and us who are living in last days) know what shall be the LAST END of the indignation." Daniel 8:19.
You, too, have stumbled at the same point.
Daniel 11 from verse 6 begins "At the time of the end", the "time appointed."
You cannot therefore begin with an historical narrative of the secular events of the Roman Empire.
The "king of the north" is the papacy.
The "king of the south" is the United States of America, apostate Protestant America; SPIRITUAL EGYPT in the last days; the LAST END of the indignation.
"And both these kings' hearts shall be to do MISCHIEF..." 11:27. Your explanation is totally incorrect.
The Scriptures defines "mischief" as,
Perverting "The right ways of the LORD." Acts 13:10.
Proverbs 4:16
For they sleep not, except they have done MISCHIEF; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to FALL (AWAY)."
Proverbs 6:14, referring to the Evil man, the man of sin,
"Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth MISCHIEF continually; he soweth discord."
"Both these kings..." are, (1) The papacy, and, (2) the United States of America, false Protestantism. Revelation 13:11.

America, the king of the south, "pushes" at the king of the north, the papacy, with the "two horns" like a lamb; but eventually speaks "as a dragon."
Your understanding of Daniel 11 is flawed; it is a literal, secular, and not what is called for - a spiritual, understanding.

The 11th chapter of the book of Daniel is not a departure from the prophetic chain, from that which is taught in the 2nd, the 7th, and the 8th chapters.

I'm sorry I'm not sure I'm following... Daniel 11 provides a historical series of events from the time of Darius the Mede (c. 539 B.C.) all the way to the second coming of Jesus, alluded to in vs. 45. It could be helpful to see that true science and history are always in perfect harmony with God's word and Bible prophecy. Bible prophecy is really just history in advance before it happens. There is a lot that has been missed... Before the Roman empire rose to great power there was one more wicked King from the Seleucid Empire. According to Daniel 8 there was another horn that spawned off another horn.. It said at the latter times of the four kingdoms of Greece.. His name was Antiochus IV Epiphanies...
The problem with this view is that the Seleucid dynasty consisted of a line of more than 20 kings who ruled from 311 to 65 B.C., and Antiochus IV was the eighth in line of those kings (he ruled from 175 to 164/3 B.C.). Because more than a dozen Seleucids ruled after him, and fewer than a dozen ruled before him, he hardly arose “at the latter end of their rule.”

True, to date no historical evidence has been found. But Luke's gospel has been proven accurate in references to 32 countries, 54 cities, and 9 islands and a host of other historical details. Personally, I don't think the absence of a historical record alone proves Luke and the chronology of Bible prophecy in Daniel 9 is in error.
The scriptural account indicates "And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria." which puts secular history at odds with the Biblical record by nearly 10 years.
Hi mcgeorgerl! Thanks for your comment. Although the KJV is my favorite translation, I don’t think they got it quite right in the verse you cited. The word “governor” (hegemoneuo) is a generic term and archaeological evidence has shown that in some sense Quirinius was twice a ruler in Syria, the first of which can be reconciled with Luke 2:2. Some translations pick up on this distinction such as the NKJV and CSB. The NET Bible has a translator note that says: “This term could refer to an administrative role Quirinius held as opposed to being governor.” Considering all of the other accurate historical markers in Luke (such as 5 alone in Luke 3:1) I think he is very trustworthy. I'm not a stranger to how languages work and how words and meanings change over time and how we, quite often, call up specific definitions when a more general definition is required. The word 'governor' bothers me not in the least. I'll just assume he was doing precisely what is written. Otherwise, I'd have to understand why we was being a mechanical device used to limit the the speed of an engine.
Let me tell you a story about languages and lesson that I learned. Of all places, I was standing in front of the toilet in the men's room at work. While doing what was necessary I could not help but to notice that the seat protector dispenser was broken and the cardboard holder from which the tissue protectors would be torn was exposed. I started reading (I read everything... it's a curse) the instructions to load the dispenser in all three languages (English, Spanish and French). I had to laugh. The word for the bundle of tear-off tissues was 'pad' in English, 'bloque' in Spanish and ''paquet' in French. Now you'll probably see that those words 'bloque' and 'paquet' also come back to us as 'block' and 'packet' in translation. So I started, later of course, creating sentences using those words in ways not related to ANY of the meanings on the instructions.
"I walked down the block quickly from the store to get to my pad because I was very hungry and had just bought a packet of new soup mix I wanted to try."
Sometimes it's best to understand the concept of the word rather than what the lexicons suggest. Have a good weekend, sir.

I may even be guilty of this myself at times. 😳 I also heartily agree that if there appears to be a discrepancy with secular history and the Biblical record I always side with Scripture. The Bible wasn't written to be a history book but it is inspired by God and is not "cunningly devised fables." Speaking of history recorded in the Bible I find it fascinating that entire civilizations like the ancient Assyrians were thought to be in question until just (relatively) recently Austen Layard "rediscovered" them in the 1840's. Hi brother Ross! While I don't agree with all of the historical interpretation of this chart I will leave the link up for a reference. One critical piece lacking is the Biblical shift in focus from literal Israel up to the time of the cross to spiritual Israel (the church) going forward. [See Romans 2:28,29; Romans 9:6-8; Galatians 3:7; 26-29.] This is especially important when interpreting verses 40-45 which are now in process of fulfillment. The King of the North will not enter or invade LITERAL Israel, but rather will enter and invade into the CHURCH. [Compare 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4 and 1 Corinthians 3:16,17] God bless!

The godly pioneers of the Advent Movement, from their consecrated study of the Word of God, came to the conclusion that the power referred to in the closing verses of Daniel 11 was the papacy. Their belief they expressed in "A Word to the Little Flock," pg. 9. After quoting Daniel 12:1 we read: "This last power that treads the saints is brought to view in Revelation 13:11-18. His number is 666."
Interpreting the king of the north as Turkey in the final verses of Daniel 11 violates at least 2 principles of interpretation. The first is the repeat and enlarge principle where Daniel 2, 7, 8 & 9, and 11 all cover the same time period. No where is Turkey to be found in the previous prophetic outlines and to insert it in Daniel 11 is to go contrary to the identification of the papacy as the final power to oppress God's people which is clearly revealed in Daniel 2, 7, and 8.
The second principle of interpretation is that after Daniel 9 and the end of the 70-week prophecy, we are no longer dealing with literal Israel and literal Jerusalem in a strictly geographic sense but now spiritual Israel or the church is the people of God and the geographical terms of north and south are to be understood in a global and worldwide spiritual sense.

Hi my friend! Thanks for your comment. God called Abraham to be an example of faith to the world, and promised to bless him and his posterity. Literal Israel was chosen and highly favored of God to represent His character and His plan to redeem and save all who would accept Him by faith (Genesis 12:3). The Bible has never taught that salvation is by DNA or lineage but rather by faith. Although by the time Jesus came to earth many of the Jews incorrectly believed they were saved and better than others because they were descendants of Abraham. Jesus makes clear that only those (both Jews & Gentiles) who accept Him as their Savior by faith are the true "descendants" or children of Abraham. To understand this Bible principle I invite you to examine the following passages of Scripture:
--Romans 9:6,7 "For they are NOT all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children:"
--Romans 2:28,29 "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly."
--Galatians 3:7, "Know ye therefore that they which are of FAITH, the SAME are the children of Abraham."
--Galatians 3:29, "And if ye be Christ's, THEN are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
I hope you will take the time to read over these verses and see that the true Israel of God includes everyone who accepts Jesus by faith, which includes both literal Jews and non-Jews. Hebrews 11:6 makes clear that with faith, it is impossible to please God. Since the fall of Adam & Eve this is the only condition on which salvation is possible to all humanity. Till verse 35 and Antiochus Epiphanes who desecrates the Temple, its all about Sirian wars, Egypt and Syria. Its all wrong, go home, these things are known since the fathers of the Church.
Hi brother Ralph! I agree with you that Antiochus Epiphanes did defile or desecrate the Temple in 164 B.C. This is the popular view that he is the one who "took away the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination that maketh desolate" (Daniel 11:31). However, can you explain why Jesus (who lived 164+ years after Antiochus) pointed forward to the abomination of desolation?? "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)" (Mattew 24:15)
If you would have watched the first part of the video you would have known that the events in Daniel 11 before the cross relate to literal Israel and the literal geographic enemies around Israel. But after the cross the events of Daniel 11 apply to spiritual Israel (the church) and the spiritual enemies of the church, typified in symbols. The Biblical basis for this is found in Daniel 9 and the 70-week prophecy and the clear teaching of New Testament authors. See for example Romans 2:28,29; Romans 9:6; Galatians 3:7,29; Galatians 6:16.
One final advice of caution, it was the "fathers of the Church" that crucified Jesus Christ. We must be careful to respect the leaders God has placed in His church while at the same time studying for ourselves to know what is truth and what is error.
