I succeeded on the 3rd attempt and the sense of achievement was the best I've had for well, a long time - the wife said anyone would think I had discovered a new planet, until I asked if she wanted to have a go. She continued with the cooking but I made sure to praise the casserole and trifle which took much longer than the parcel knot!
