I would love a vlog series where you get one of these boxes and then pick 5 to read and then talk about if the box was worth it or not (even though from this reaction it seems like it really is!)
I just recently read my first historical romance (The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare) because you recommended it and I absolutely loved it! Thank you for all your recommendation videos, they are great and I can’t wait to read more from them! Lots of love ❤️
YAY! You got so many good books, I am living for all the stepbacks. I am so glad you liked the mystery box, I ordered two from this shop already lol 😂 I totally agree, they absolutely nail it with the books and really do read the notes you put. You can tell they package it with love 🥰
I just got that Jennifer Ashley Pirate novel too!!! We should buddy read it, Jess!! I am obsessed with her books. I am totally doing this book box. ASAP!!!! HOW FREAKING FUN!!
OH MY GOSH YESSSSS! I got so excited when I saw this video in my feed. 🙌 and this is one of the stores I used for the mystery box as well (there are SO MANY on eBay) okay okay now I have to finish watching and I’m probably gonna buy more books too lol
I love Jess being so excited doin unboxing Historical romances 🤗. Before I couldn't careless reading historical romances but now I'm so obsessed! 😍 Thanks for another HR video Jessica! 👍
I’m always terrified to read Scottish romance (even though the blurbs often interest me) because I’m Scottish and I’ve been burned before. It’s always immediately apparent when the author isn’t Scottish (or hasn’t even been to Scotland...) but honestly this is making me want to try some again.
A historical romance was my first ever eBay purchase (bid) over twenty-two years ago. It was a Rosemary Rogers novel. And it was already one that was published way before that. I’m so happy you’re checking out two of my favorite authors, Hannah Howell and Jennifer Ashley. I rarely hear anyone talk about them. Another favorite historical romance author to check out if you haven’t is, Michelle Willingham. I’ve read Donna Grant too. I wished I kept up with her highlander books. Now I can’t remember which ones I’ve read. lol Thanks for the unboxing.
I’ve started reading more historical romances because of you before I really only read college aged new adult and sports romances. Yay for trying new things
So glad you reviewed them, I've been eyeing their listing unsure of how much customization they'd actually do. I'm with you on the Zebra books, and was afraid I'd end up with 20 of them lol I found a lot of 32 historicals for $15 on eBay! It was a one off seller but I'm on the prowl for the OG cover of Gentle Rogue. Excited to see your reading vlogs of these!
Ahhh I was just about to a video like this because I kept hearing how eBay is a go-to for books 💜 You got a GREAT haul! They were really thoughtful with keeping your preferences in mind! 🙌🏽
I am an August baby as well!!!! I will be the big 50, on the 22nd!!!!! Awesome mystery bookhaul!!!!! I can't wait to see how you feel about the books you got!!!!!!
Oooo I really want to do this because I only own 2 Johanna Lindsey books. That’s all for my historical romance collection lol. I love how excited you were 🤣🥰. Love your shirt I always love your clothes 💕💕💕
my local used book store does mystery bundles of 10 books for $1.50 (clipped corners of course), this makes me want to pick up one of the romance ones and give it a shot ^^
Gah, now I wanna buy one of these so badly! I'm so glad they got you some amazing ones that you don't own! I used to read quite a few Connie Brockway historicals when I was younger and I remember really enjoying them!
What a wonderful book haul! Lynsay Sands books are the best. You should read Love is Blind set in Regency era. Also the Perfect Wife is during the medieval time and the heroine is a curvy woman.
I've read four Connie Brockway's historicals. (I'm pretty sure she also writes contemporaries.) Happily, one of them I've read was Bridal Season. What I enjoyed about it is that it's one of those rare historicals where not everyone has a title. The heroine is a music hall performer and the hero is a "Sir" but he's also a magistrate. So, Brockway does really write about more regular people.
Connie Brockway was one of my faves! I highly recommend "My Dearest Enemy" which is one of her best and in my top 10 romances of all time and was in many top romance lists the year it was released. Her earlier books were much better, anything before 2005.
Your excitment on the covers oozes out of this video. I love it. Good box. Also, I have my Dearest Enemy by Connie Brockway. I have not read it yet, but if you read Brockway before I do...let me know how she is.
I love Amanda Ashley books! One of my favorites is As Twilight Falls. There are two more focusing on side characters with a little more info on the main characters from the first book. Have you read them?
Omg I'm jumping on eBay right now, do you have any recommendations of any bully historical romance , where the hero had bullied the heroine but then changes but in a historical setting not contemp,I've been searching for that. Awesome vid !☺☺
Taming the Highland Bride by Sands is good as is the Amanda Scott highlander romance. Connie Bricklayer is good. She's OG like Kathleen Woodweiss and Tanya Anne Crosby. Karen Rainey is really good -she wrote a lot of highlander romances. Super box. 😍
I don't think we get step backs in the UK because the new books I bought don't have any. Or is it just the older copies of romance novels that have them?. I'm new to romance so I don't know how it works.
Shield of Roses is a fun book. Based on the life of Strongbow and Aoife and the invasion of Ireland. Not exactly the most accurate...It has several sequels.
What would you recommend for someone who wants to read a romance book but doesn't know what best to begin with. I love love love historical settings speally Victorian and Regency and high society stuff but i hate love tringes i think there really bad. What would you say based on those preferences should i start cos i I know theres a lot thank you
I read Do You Want to Start a Scandal by Tessa Dare and loved the action in it! The hero is a former spy for the Crown, so I'm putting Lady Valiant on my TBR. If anyone knows any spy/secret agents in historical romance, recommend me some please
re Karen Ranney -- she died back in June, 2020. I saw the notification from Avon Books and went looking only to find that I had blocked her on twitter. I can safely cross her off of my TBR list.
Does anyone know if you have to read the books in the "Girl Meets Duke" series by Tessa Dare in order to not get any spoilers or are they unrelated enough to where you can go out of order?
I read them out of order! I read book three and then book one! I don’t remember there being spoilers for anything other than what couples get together!
I do not usually read historical romance but the way Jessica is so excited makes me want to start reading historical romance
lyndene gelderbloem same! I’ve been thinking of trying to read some of her favourites, now that libraries have reopened.
its a slippery slope! Just do it. You won't regret it.
It will be the best decision of your life. Definitely check out Stephanie Laurens. She's my favourite Regency Romance author
I would love a vlog series where you get one of these boxes and then pick 5 to read and then talk about if the box was worth it or not (even though from this reaction it seems like it really is!)
I'm a man. I have never read a romance in my life. But I was transfixed by the enthusiasm of our host. Well done.
Welcome romance is very important for men and woman no romance No real love maybe is one of reason that so many divorces in these days.😍😍😍😍
This makes me want to go to the used book store on the corner of my street and do a deep dive into all of thier historicals
I just recently read my first historical romance (The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare) because you recommended it and I absolutely loved it! Thank you for all your recommendation videos, they are great and I can’t wait to read more from them! Lots of love ❤️
Me too!!!

I love this video idea Jess but what I love most is the fact that you got a whole box of books HAHAHA
What a fun idea! They all look like they are in great shape too! Love how excited you were :)

OH MY GOSH YESSSSS! I got so excited when I saw this video in my feed. 🙌 and this is one of the stores I used for the mystery box as well (there are SO MANY on eBay) okay okay now I have to finish watching and I’m probably gonna buy more books too lol
This would be so fun to do! But I feel like I’d be so disappointed if I got books I already had which with my luck would totally happen 😂
I'm finally listening to my first historical since you love them so much!! more mystery box hauls, please!!
I am so impressed with how accurate they got your taste! Hoping I can find a similar service in Australia 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I love Jess being so excited doin unboxing Historical romances 🤗. Before I couldn't careless reading historical romances but now I'm so obsessed! 😍 Thanks for another HR video Jessica! 👍

I’ve started reading more historical romances because of you before I really only read college aged new adult and sports romances. Yay for trying new things
This seems so fun. The older step backs are so gorgeous.
That's a wonderful birthday present to yourself. I would love a box like that.

Gah, now I wanna buy one of these so badly! I'm so glad they got you some amazing ones that you don't own! I used to read quite a few Connie Brockway historicals when I was younger and I remember really enjoying them!
Ohh yay!!! I definitely want to try this out soon. I've always been wary of doing it.

I’d love to hear your review of The Madness of Lord Ian McKenzie and the rest of the series!
One of my favorite books!
I love this idea! This was so fun to watch and now I need to hold myself back because I’m so close to ordering one of these boxes 😂
I’m currently re-reading an Amanda Scott historical romance called Border Fire. 😁
That is so cool! The books look like they are in amazing shape!
Such a good deal!! Mystery boxes are awesome
I'm very tempted to get those Ebay random books.also. Where would we be without books

What an amazing box 😊
Did you ever read or review of Jennifer Ashley the care and feeding of pirates I just got it from the library book sale 😅
I'm trying so hard to resist buying a box. I really shouldn't be buying anymore books but they looked like they did a good job with it.

Omg wow this was actually so cool!!!!!

Taming the Highland Bride by Sands is good as is the Amanda Scott highlander romance. Connie Bricklayer is good. She's OG like Kathleen Woodweiss and Tanya Anne Crosby. Karen Rainey is really good -she wrote a lot of highlander romances. Super box. 😍
Now I really want to do this myself, despite having no more room 😅
Amanda scott is a great author
I'm assuming you've read Kathleen Woddiwiss, but if not, you have to read her books! A Rose in Winter is one of my all-time favorite romances.
Happy Early Birthday!
This was cool! I need to check out eBay for books now lol
I've never read those kinds of books but now I want to lol
Those goodies are the best 1970 thru 1995
Please make a video reading them!! 😊
Don't miss out on Sandy Blair's Highlander romances. I recommend A Rogue in a Kilt and A Thief in a Kilt.
I don't think we get step backs in the UK because the new books I bought don't have any. Or is it just the older copies of romance novels that have them?. I'm new to romance so I don't know how it works.
OMG I want to order one, now!
Commenting at the beginning.
Super nervous for you and crossing my fingers!!
Love Is Blind by Lynsay Sands Sands is great!
Do you know any places to get book inspired decor or accessories type things? Mugs, bookmarks, pins? X ☺️
omg this was so so cool and now i have to hide my credit card so i don't order a box for myself 😭
Shield of Roses is a fun book. Based on the life of Strongbow and Aoife and the invasion of Ireland. Not exactly the most accurate...It has several sequels.
I love books
