Another pointless fail upload as my channel gets nailed. RIP leokimvideo, maybe I need to steal other videos and make Top5 rubbish thats all over the site now.
this brings back so many memories, I used to and still have a whole load of this track and those electric trains. They were so fun. I've got the helicopter that spins around and has magnets on so you can load trains up and then had a restock station. Gave me hours of entertainment, will have to get it out sometime again
When I was little, my father would bring me to a swapmeet every Saturday for a few hours. One day, I found one of these giant Tomy Thomas's and would ask my dad to get it. Surprisingly, it was fairly cheap at around 18 dollars. Now it sits in my room containing all the Tomy and Trackmaster 1 & 2 trains that I have right now.
@@jomspeh9100agreed I told my parents the joke and my mum said “that’s mean >:(“ an my dad said “AAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHEEEEEEEEEEHAHAAHAHAHA*WHEEEEEZEEE* *COUGH*
That Thomas is actually relatively hard to find. See how the boiler bands are painted red, and the eyes are painted white on the original TOMY face? That version was only available in the Chinese Dragon set, I think.
To be fair if nothing was damaged then it's not a big deal. Even the best packaged item can get ripped apart in Australia Post's sorting machines :( You're right about the tape over edges though.
I bought one of these when they were in the shops here in the UK. Why did i EVER give this to a friend with young children. Nice to know that at least three of these have a safe future.
Hey Leo, I had the same clutch problem with one of my Thomas's but it was pretty easy to fix. all you have to do is this. Take off the shell, take out the motor, take off the connecting rods to take out the wheels and add a small drop of super glue in the wheel gear. and put the Thomas back together
Thank you for that Leo, and to give you a bit of hope, your channel has inspired some of the most successful Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends youtube channels: TurtlesandThomas, The Unlucky Tug, Wildnorwester, EnterprisingEngine93, DieselD199, many more, and my own. Your work does have meaning, you produce content that isn't click bait, guttertrash, foul, or uncaring. You haven't sold out and from the limited view that I've seen of you from your videos you seem to be a good person.
Ah, I remember getting this for Christmas when I was about 5! I still have the tracks, the rolling stock, and most of the engines, but not giant Thomas! He definitely fell apart and deteriorated over the years and likely ended up in a goodwill bin or something.
To be honest, I don't want eBay to get killed. You made good points in this video. I'm not defending eBay, but eBay is way cheaper than amazon. I've had good luck on eBay, but it is a little more risky than amazon. Amazon is more professional, and no knockoffs are sold on it. In my opinion, eBay shouldn't get killed, but it's flaws and problems need to be addressed and resolved.
Amazon is about to launch in Australia. Maybe it will give e-bay here a big wake up call. If e-bay sellers can't get the basics right it affects the whole site. I think thats where e-bay will fail. It only takes a few bad apples to ruin the feel of e-bay.
Because that intro wasn't creepy at all O.O Also I completely agree with you, the seller could've taken just a bit more effort to protect the box, that's just completely ridiculous
Love the videos of Thomas the tank you never get over him I love duck and Oliver and Donald and Douglas most pleas make more videos of them😀😌😌😎😇 and those cheap nock of Thomas'🙃🙃🙃 😂😂😂
Very nice idea. My family are still laughing at the comment you left on the spider Vs merc video. One of the best funny comments I have seen for a long time.
First battery powered thomas and friends toy I had was that James 3 piece set on the box. I also liked it better when the tenders were wired to the engine, not coupled.
leokim i had that thomas set as a kid.... i loved the giant thomas. also there was a large battery compartment somewhere under the large thomas. idk what it did though. i wish they made more characters in that giant scale like duck percy mavis bill ben etc.
Hi Leo, i know the seller you purchased that from.. Im glad it ended up being a good purchase for you... i purchased the Thomas Busy Day Set from them for my 7 year old son for Christmas. I was aware the box would be slightly damaged which was fine, when my son opened it Christmas morning the station and 3 track pieces were missing.. have left many messages but have heard nothing back. My son was devastated, that was the only thing he wanted for Christmas......... My son and i enjoy watching your videos together.. keep up the good work!
Please don't disclose the sellers name. Nasty legal calls started to land after the first time I uploaded this video. It's sad they had trouble with your sale. They burnt their bridge with me on this first sale to me. Epic fail by them, such a stupid mistake to use christmas wrapping. I'm hoping they have learned a valuable lesson about packaging correctly to make the best first contact with a e-bay sale. I'm totally scared to use e-bay now. I just don't like the underlying games going on by so many try hard sellers there. E-bay in the early days was amazing, these days it's verging on organized crime. Take a look at how many knockoff Thomas items are for sale there. Where is Mattel to stop this activity, they own Thomas now.
Did you leave any public comments related to your sale and missing parts? I noticed mine were hidden away when the box damage argument started. Lesson to me that sellers can control what's seen. On e-bay you really need to be VERY careful who you deal with. The dodgy sellers get nailed by social media, the reporting system on e-bay is a total joke.
Thanks, i won't be disclosing the seller's name. I have always avoided buying off Ebay, but my son was desperate for this set. Needless to say this was my first and last purchase from Ebay. My son and i have had a look on there and noticed there was quite a lot of knockoffs. (Thanks to you my son can tell a knockoff Thomas straight away)! He likes the older Thomas which makes it hard, he has seen what you have managed to get from garage sales, we might try our luck with them. At least we can see what we will be getting. You are so right, someone should put a stop to it.
I didn't bother to leave a comment because i did notice that any negative review was hidden or taken away. I didn't realise how dodgy the review system was on Ebay until i looked into it.
When I saw the seller could hide away the truth about the problem with my sale my confidence of using e-bay hit rock bottom. In a way this video is a great warning about what can go wrong and how important first impressions are. If this seller did the right thing I could have potentially spent many thousands of dollars buying Thomas stuff. Thats NEVER going to happen now.
Leo! This toy was my childhood, I remember asking for a train set as a kid for Christmas, in my head thinking I wanted a Hornby set, regardless I was more than pleased to receive this masterpiece, ps great videos.. it might not seem like it but your doing a fantastic job
I did see a totally mint in box set of this on e-bay and the seller was hunting for $400. The box was sun affected but the toy inside had never been out. If the box was not damaged it would be worth the $400. The box forms a very important aspect of the price because thats the item that's often not there or heavily damaged.
leokimvideo I don't know to much about collecting or ones desired price for certainty on an item, but I feel as tho I'd love to collect something myself, the passion you have for your Thomas collection is pretty awesome, I only wish I shared a similar passion.
I have no problem getting ur videos in California on UA-cam . So far I have had no problems with e-bay. Next time check the seller to c their ratting. I only use 100 to95% rate. E-bay has its own warranty , check it out I believe u will get ur cost back and the seller gets a bad ratting .
When I send things through ebay especially the old mint in box robot toys i sold i just make a custom cardboard box and i bubble wrap the item and then i fill the remaining space with packing peanuts. As for your channel I check it everyday. I have a question, in your banner who is the super hero in it?
Hi leokim, found a NIB paperface online and like you said it was too good to be true, it was reboxed so I got the seller to refund me and it ended up only costing me $5 for it in the end. it's still in perfect shape, just a shame I was duped into a non-NIB item
I have a wooden railway skarloey, Annie, clarabel, and unknown engine tender that have almost all of their paint missing. They are very very old, and I got them from a family friend. :D
3 years later, but I’d figure I’d tell you something about Ebay. Don’t do auctions. If you’re like me, with incredible bad luck, it’s better to just go Buy it Now. The auctions can really give your bank account a hit, and the only way you’ll win the auction is to come in 5 seconds before the bidding ends with the winning price. You’ll come across the occasional bad shipper, I bought an ertl golf rail Thomas nib for my birthday two years ago, but it came in a postage bag with no pillowing at all. The box was dented and had a hole in it. What made it hurt was I bought it for under 10 USD, a good price for that item. The trick with eBay is to keep trying, the buy it now selections has a better guarantee you’ll get what you want. It’s also a good way to get an idea how much something is worth. Hope this helps
my friend was on eBay to buy a cool Godzilla toy that he saved up for and bought it and you guessed it! IT WAS A SCAM! but its funny because what he got was a piece of paper and it said "Godzilla". LOL
The problem with that Thomas (it came the very rare Chinese dragon by the way) is that the gear on the drive axle is cracked so you have to get him a new wheel set or change the gear
Omg thank you so much for re uploading this, I do agree with you the seller clearly didn't care he only cared about the money you paid him :P such a shame especially since that's the rarest version wit he ultra rare box. Anyway so glad you reuploaded this I remember seeing this like last year and fell in love with the vid
The really sad aspect to e-bay is sellers can hide comments from those they sell to. This stops potential buyers to be aware of real problems with sales.
On the big Thomas there is a white switch, located on the side between the rear and the middle wheel that when in a certain position will either lock the wheels or allow it to free wheel. Kind of like how it on the smaller toys.
Great question. I have a growing collection of bits and bobs of the TOMY dark blue era stuff. I'll admit there is a real charm to it and I love the way it combines with LEGO. I'll be honest here I don't see too many of those era sets for sale. If anything the train toy from that ear I would chase up is the 12v LEGO train sets with metal track. It would cost a bomb but I think it's a really important train set to have under the bed. The LEGO trains of today are lacking that sound and feel of the earlier LEGO train system.
Thats VERY nice but I think the era slightly before that was where the real classic lego train set feel comes from. When I think or model trains I tend to think 12 volt. The other classic Lego bit from the past is that monorail. I would hate to think what money that pulls on e-bay today. In fact I just looked..NEW Lego 9V Space FUTURON # 6990 Monorail Transport System LEGOLAND $3,299.00
My local church Lego display is set up by this lady who collects Lego. She has all the important sets and lots of the monorail. Thats where I saw the classic 80's 12volt train set and fell in love with the way it works. The new stuff is nice but the remote control and battery packs are a fail idea. It's just too flakey to play trains with and gone is the metal rail sounds. The only upside is Lego made the trains more affordable by dumbing them down.
I wonder where you can purchase a whole bunch of second hand Thomas VHS tapes and DVDs. I have a whole bunch of them, stuff I've purchased over the years from the DVD stores back in the day. Classic Thomas shows of course.
wait wasn't this uploaded before? i remember watching this before last year. also leo keep up the good work ive not found one video that you failed to enjoy me.
