That's the way to get all your fieldwork done in one day! Even the old Ford Major and Ford 5000 are gettin' the job done. My father farmed for 40 years with nothing bigger than 3 Ford 5000 with duals, eventually upgrading later to a 7600 (in 1981) and for the final few years, a 7710 (1990). It might have taken 2 weeks to get all of the fields fitted up for planting, but the work always gone done on time and without expensive Bank Payments for newer or bigger equipment. My father attributes much of his long success as a farmer to NOT having bank payments to make. He saved up and paid CASH for pretty much every piece of equipment he ever bought. 90-day Loans is about the only financing my father would ever take on. Meanwhile, most other farms with bigger tractors and equipment went out of business when they could not pay their bankers. I even know the story of one farmer who has spent the past 20 years working as an EMPLOYEE on the farm he once OWNED, but is now owned by the bankers.
What a great gift from liz, Just love the ol' Fords. It is good that we still can look back and see some of our lovely machines of the day. Shame that a hand full of ford owners haven't kept up the maintenance on their machines. When the tractors past the point of no return very sad to see them get driven into the hedge row and lost for good. "Happy video day George".
I drove an 8830 when I was a kid 25 years ago, I remember driving alongside a massive boulder in the yard and being able to push it aside with the front wheels just using my little finger on the steering wheel. The air conditioning was nice too and the automatic mode on the powershift transmission. The most memorable part of the experience for me was filling it up with diesel, it took about an hour! Now I'm a big boy and have my own tractor, an enormous Kubota B4200...
Now that is what you call a dream video to sit back and enjoy just wonderful to a Ford nut. every one gets excited about the big old girls and i can see why but for me the best parts were the 2wd just always drawn to them lots of happy memory's growing up i guess. stunning video pal thank you for sharing this and a very happy birthday to you.
George I wish I had of known about this I would of loved to go along to this. I live a 5 minute drive from Devizes. Glad that you made this video so that I didn't miss out completely.
Happy birthday George , some lovely plant there , enjoy your day and I hope you get over the flu soon , I'm nursing one here myself and it's a bit of a bar steward . 👍🏻😜👴🏻
Happy Birthday, man does that FW-30 run smooth. My faw in the video for sure. I like all of the fords/NH do to my own history with them, I know a lot of people out there and sometimes myself know there are better tractors out there, but there's just something about "the blue paint" that is hard to ignore.
Happy Birthday George and what a lovely present from your lovely wife Liz. Nice to see some older blue power at work and play and I am guessing you had a great day. When are we going to get some more vids of you doing field work in your new Fast Trac?
Ta Ta George and Happy Birthday. Personal favourite for me is the County 1184 TW. Did you get to meet Andrew Collier who helped organise the day? Seems like a nice chap and contributes to Classic Tractor magazine.
What is it with 80's Fords, and the huge profile on the front tyres? Genuine question - I grew up on a farm with them, and no-one could tell me why it was.
Great vid George and Happy Birthday! Some cracking bits of kit there. This might be a bit of a stupid question but what do they do with the land afterwards? Is it just gone over again once everyones gone and then planted up?
Very nice to see those great old Ford's working, these are real tractors! Nice video!
I'll Love Blue till my Dying Day . Thank you George great filming plus music to our Ears .
Regards

It seems quite rare to see an actual ford tractor here in the northeast US, but a family friend does have 3 county tractors, 2 open and 1 cab
Happy birthday George. Looks like a good day, even if they're only Ford's ;-)

Does it have 4 additional tires to increase grip ? Also why are there so many tractors on the same field?
