2019 BREEF Sea Camp Eleuthera

  • B.R.E.E.F. held a five day Sea Camp themed "Fish for the Future" at The Haynes Library. Campers increased their knowledege of how to identify 25 common reef fish, in addition invasive species and key species (Nassau grouper, conch and crawfish) and commercially important species of The Bahamas. Camper's also increased their knowledge and understanding of current fisheries regulations. They held discussions on local fishing methods, and the importance of respecting marine protected areas and they also discussed ways Bahamians can reduce single-use plastics. In addition, all campers improved their swimming and snorkeling abilities!
