Just one piece of advice I found on UA-cam recently is when people clean out the cassette they like to put their cleaning products in it and then shake the hell out of it which is apparently a bad idea because the float is quite brittle and can be damaged by doing this. Makes sense

Thank you matey 😊👍. Yeah I've heard / seen that too mate, it can knock off the magnet too, mines missing so the switch isn't seeing it. But that was probably due to the accident🤔, the toilet was mounted right where the impact was! It was jettisoned right to the front of the caravan and was in 3 bits😬 luckily I've managed to salvage it, but I had to buy quite a few parts from ebay in doing so, but over looked the float at the time, I'll sort that out in the near future bud 😉👍👍👍
Hi mark love the vids keep it up. I would steer clear from gripfill it gets very brittle after a couple of years hence why it’s a quid a tube. We also fit hygiene board at work and would highly recommend putting 5mm ply up first as the hygiene boards not really meant for structure then stick it up with the proper contact adhesive. Just my ten pence but superb work non the less 👍🏻
Cheers Alex for the heads up bud, I've used expanding foam on the toilet door area wall, I suppose I could do the same with the other walls as insurance for the future to keep it place and to give it more strength 🤔, yes it is a little thin this pastic stuff, agree with you there, but light weight I suppose bud 🤔. Hi Mark! From the clothing I would guess that you were a soldier. Respect for tackling all of the neglected maintenance items and the extent of your build. I'm building out a Sprinter here in Pennsylvania and I just happen to be working on the bathroom. Our approaches are very different but in the end we will have accomplished the thing. BTW, enjoy your sense of humor. If you get to the states, we would love to show you our project. Best of luck and...watch out for those fingers!!

They really do deserve respect👍. I let you into a little secret bud😉. It's far easier for me, and for continuity of editing pieces together that have been filmed days even weeks apart! If I have the same outfit on matey 😉.....I do have 5 of the same trousers and 4 of the same tops (winter wardrobe) the summer will bring the desert wardrobe 😅😉👍..... Trying to find a suitable van was probably the most frustrating part, as the ones we wanted were either, already sold, miles away, or like in our case suspiciously broken down before even viewing, this van we have now was our second choice, but had all the electric pack, and aircon as the first one. 😁👍👍👍

Im gonna use sikaflex ebt+ in small circles to bond my vinyl walls to the ply backing wall and brace it overnight 🤞
Your best using sikaflex 521 as I found EBT+ didn't last when I used it to seal the edging, it doesn't bond to the pvc sheets well at all bud. Here's a link what sikaflex products is best to use within a campervan environment 👌👍👉gbr.sika.com/en/industry/transportation/caravan-and-motorhomes.html
@@Iveavan Im not using pvc walls I'm using vinyl waterproof flooring material, couldn't afford the panels, fingers crossed 🤞

The build is coming on great! Very posh... We wash in the sink and pee in a bucket lmao! So much work gone into the editing too! (I saw your Instagram post, 16hrs OMG!) Was just saying to Purdie we'll have to pop through on our way south once the vans fixed (AGAIN) and have a cuppa and a nosey :D

Thank you guys 😉👍, errm, no it wont be ready for camp quirky, but probably will take it next year I think🤔, 16hrs aprox, I always make them way too long, then go through it again to make sure it tells a story ( chop out the tat that dont make it flow ). Then I go through it again for over lays, they hide (or try to in some cases ) 😉🤫😁👍👍👍

DUDE! 😂, I know😅, I probably should gone for the MWB model just for Dawn and myself, but then again...... I'd probably wished I had gone for the LWB one bud 🤔. Yes I probably will go down the duck board route mate due to the toilet being on a plinth, what with Dawn's short legs 😉👍👍👍

the pvc sheet to a ply board first?
Ideally yes. But trying to save weight as I only have a 1255kg load limit, I have filled the cavities with expandable foam, which has made more ridged bud 😉👍👍👍.

Hi, do you find that the pvc panels have some flex in them where they are not supported between the battens or are they solid? we're at the stage of building our shower room now and thought we'd need more timber in the walls to bond it to than you have used? cheers
No, mine have been holding up well bud, around the toilet area I did use spray foam so the toilet cistern had something solid to mount against, other then that what you see within the video has been left with no further improvement matey 😉👍👍👍...
What are the measurements width by length of your bathroom?
Roughly 900mm by 400mm I think bud 😉👍

How is the glue for the pvc walls holding up? I'm about to build my shower, but am wondering if I should put a sheet of ply up first so the pvc panel has more surface area to glue to.
Hi there, so far no issues with it, I did filling in the voids with expandable foam, which has made it more ridged, but I made sure I only placed a small amount each time, and left to cure 😉👌👍👍👍.

Mark, how did you fix the shower waste to the floor? Adhesive, or just sealant?
From memory I used flex pipe from the plug hole down pipe, I sealed those parts with plumbing adhesive and jubilee clip 😉👍👍👍.
