Hello, i saw your comment and wanted to inform you about religion vs homosexuality. Its probably the hardest topic to be sure about but from what i understand from religion and being gay i would sum it up like this: For various reasons, homosexuality is forbidden in 3 big religions but it isnt forbidden to BE a homosexual as it makes NO sense, rather it is treated as other feelings that one needs to be careful about like being thief, being killer, being bully, being cheater... All humans have an inner thief, for example. If we scale it from 0 to 100, some have 0 level thiefness some have 1 level thiefness some have 5 level thiefness some have 20 level thiefness some have 100, but at the end, no matter what, we should fight this inner feeling of wanting to steal. So religion doesnt hate on homosexuals, it hates on the act. It is the people that commit crimes against homosexuals which is not approved by religion. So our discussion comes to this point: Is homosexual act bad? I believe it is so i live my life according to it, if you dont believe it u will live your life differently. At this point, as my humble advise, i suggest u to do some "unbiased" research on religion so that "IF" religion is true and there is a court afterlife, you dont feel bad.
yo, im a muslim, and there is this idea that all muslims hate gay or lesbians. Hi! I’m Jewish and just wanted to say that I think it’s terrible how judgemental people can be regarding homosexuality. Like, it’s nobody’s business who you can or can’t love,
Everyone who is not a Native Indian is not from originally from America, in fact, if you want to look at terrorism, genocide and even xenophobia, look at the European settlers (removing the notion of the plague) of which the current America is made of. Black, Indian, Asian, Puerto Rican, etc people did not willing come to America, they were brought there through slavery, thus they worked to make the land, and it is rightfully theirs to share. Stop saying, certain people should leave America, because they are not American, I believe that if one has the right values and morals, that they should be allowed to contribute to a country whether they are from it or not. What Zak Ebrahim is doing is trying to save American lives by convincing or reaching out to those who are growing up in situations where they are convinced that they have to follow certain people, and carry out terror attacks against the American citizens(or anyone for that matter). If he leaves America, who knows how many people will not hear his wisdom and thus commit themselves to these unforgivable acts of terrorism. I do understand that you are angry towards certain people ( based on fear) but to say that every one is the same is ludicrous.

+jason abasi since science started to grow up they do have the right to believe that the world was made randomly...but when I got deeper I knew that a lot of scientific info were mentioned in the Quran before it was even discovered that was one reason I didn't think about being an atheist.... although everyone has his beliefs and I fully respect that as long as they don't abuse others for their beliefs
+jason abasi Muslims are allowed to kill only when they are in danger to simplify it self defense only....about scientific proofs at the times of Muhammad the prophet the earth was yet unknown to be flat or circular so at 79:30 allah says "walartga bad thaleka dahaha" which means and then he circulated the earth the dah is a kind of eggs that looks pretty familiar to the earth and at 55:19 I'll take a shortcut it says as two seas meet(a pure one and a salty one) a dam is between them they don't merge into each other...78:7 and we made the mountains aotads which means something that you use to keep it stable such as the legs of the tint sorry i don't know how to describe them in English the point is it's later proved that mountains keeps the earth stable from shaking and by shaking I don't mean earthquakes I mean like earth moving in multiple degrees and etc...hope that's good for you and BTW here's this one about killing: 4:32 and who kills a human for no reason or for the bad of earth is like he killed the whole humanity and who saves one's life is like he saved the whole humanity...

I am Turkish and Muslim. And I love "every human being who has a good heart" in the world. I know there are many people reasons for your bad prejudices. But there are also many who are not dark-hearted. Yours sincerely to you all, wishing a world without prejudice.
Please use your energy and good intentions to influence the thousands of Muslims (like Boko Haram in Nigeria) who hate and kill daily. Also, Turkey has never admitted to the Armemian Holocaust, which someone needs to deal with.
The main message I got from this talk was that if you treat bigoted people with kindness, they'll realize that the hatred they felt towards you was unfounded. When this man was growing up, all he know was bigotry, and if it wasn't for the kindness of others plus his own empathy and willingness to change and be honest with himself, he might also have become a terrorist. There's no way to imprison every terrorist or prevent every terrorist from teaching bigotry to their children. So the only way to overcome terrorism is through kindness, acceptance and understanding.
Why wont you guys understand that when a muslim does something bad hes a terrorist, and when a non-muslim does a bad deed its an "accident." Life is a test and maybe you guys waste your time on such nonsense maybe the guy was mental, maybe he had problems, that doesnt give you a reason to hate. Cause hate is worse then being a terrorist. Even IF this happened why cant you see whats going on in this world right now? People are calling Islam Terrorist Religion even though they dont see the peaceful side of it. It hurts me to know you all think hes a nice man when HE HIMSELF cant stop hate. If he really meant this speech he wouldn't have mentioned about hate cause then he would be a hypocrite on hating muslims. So when you have nothing good to say, remain silent. That sentence is from the Quran.
I wonder how his father would have reacted if he saw this. Seeing how his son is able to get so much fame and respect because of heart would certainly shook him

How can you judge someone for not being a Muslim Mouna? Only God can do that fool! Secondly people like you are ones that cause hate, by accusing others of being "fake" followers. GJ hateful religious person
As I human being, I thank this man for his bravery and his choices, and hope he and his family will be safe and happy forever. As a Christian, because I am, I pray he will be blessed, and that many more will also be blessed by him, no matter who they are.
woobiesftw Hey, since you at it, can you also pray for a new PS4 for me, i really want one. or do you think i should steal one and then pray for forgiveness..
As a Christian, me too. Incredible courage. First and foremost we are all human, and virtues such as honesty, courage, integrity, dignity, kindness and love can be found in all people.
Remember: extremists have no religion. They claim that they do, but they have their own stupid logic. There is no religion in this world that tells you to hate people. I'm Muslim and I respect all religions, and I have nothing against gay people. They don't bother me last time I checked. Mind your business people, and stop being judgmental. Period.
Tears full of my eyes after watching this. My family hold strongly believe that they hate people from different race, country, sexual orientation, and different political party. I am tired of hearing all their negative thoughts when I went back home. Thank you for speaking on Ted! ❤
Let's be honest.. every religion teaches that it's the true path..and only it's pious followers will make it to the hevean..all teaches hatred towards others
I'm sorry to break the bubble for u... But I myself have read many religious scriptures and no religion teaches u to hate other religions... Its the wrong interpretations that some of the followers make... Which end up in hatred and violence
Have you ever read the Koran? It demands violence against Infidels. I appreciate this man's turn away from that. But any attempt to deny the daily blood letting of Muslims somewhere against their neighbors just cheapens their deaths and rationalizes it, so none of these 'peaceful' Muslims need to do anything about it.
This is basically what America did decades ago with black people and centuries ago with the Indians. They themselves came to the country and killed the natives there and then won't let other people come here. Now it's Muslims, but instead of them being killed, they are gonna be deported if Trump becomes the President.
I was severely bullied as a child into my adulthood and when you speak of being kind to others as if you'd wanted to be treated bc knowing the struggle from being bullied you personally know the feeling of being mistreated as each hurtful word strikes a memory from our past is what many others who haven't been bullied needs to learn from. Being in the position I am constantly in by being judged/bullied I've always asked god why? With years of thought I've got my answer bc god wanted me to be a blessing to those who aren't understood and to be their voice when I couldn't be my own
That was a great talk! One of the few proofs that violence and in this case more specificly terrorism is not inherited. Happy to see the son going against his father and trying to reclaim peace! Once again great talk.
Ouji San I don't know who you're talking to, but if you're referring to the disrespect of religion than you better not be Christian or Muslim, because if you are, your religion is far more disrespectful and offensive than anything I can say, lest I start saying things such as "rape is a mild offense; everyone who doesn't think what I think should die", because that and more is said all over those two religions. By the way: You're* a* disrespectful person(.)
Dudesgotagun1 hmm yes i m muslim can u plz explain me why u hate islam u might misunderstood islam cuz of how media portray islam in bad way tell me your points plz ^.^ and i forgot to say i didn't talk to u i talked to the main commenter but it's ok lets talk u might convince me or the opposite
Ouji San If you're legitimately asking both of your Bibles condone mass murder and rape, and in Saudi Arabia it's used to control people. Not to mention your Messiah he who is "closest to god" was a child molester. If you're being polite I don't mean to be rude, at this point I have only mentioned things that are true. I assume you've heard of the Charlie Hebdo massacre, about the child shot in the face for saying women deserve an education, the lashes and imprisonment Atheists get in Saudi Arabia just for being Atheist, if you're being honest with yourself is that actually AGAINST your religion? Or is it actually the closer means by which to follow it? As I said, I believe these violent religions are offensive.
Ouji San The fact you defend Muslims without a care for the victims tells me everything I need to know. Its a common thread with Muslims, not being concerned with the actions of your fellow Muslims but your own own well being.
cf delhi well there are. There are practising and non-practising muslims. There are educated muslims and uneducated muslims (in topic Islam) There are the sunna and then there is the rest. With good I mean someone who is practising the religion in the right way and is educated about it and educated in generell. His behaviour/charakter is like a muslims should be ect.
cf delhi naw there is no truth in what you're saying. And what does this have to do with homophobia? The Quran. How much knowledge do you have about it? What is it, why did it come down, how? If you find out why it came down we can talk.
cf delhi that's Not true in the slightest. The book is the equivalent to the christian bible and muslims are not evil or bad, they are humans like you and me. Start a conversation and stop spewing out your opinion without listening to the opinion of others. Again, conversation is the key word here.
A fantastic example to those who seek to change the world by violent means. Remember, when you look at this man, that there is always a different way, a better way. A great man, thank you

I'm a Muslim and I'm 14 y/o and I'm very thankfully that I wasn't raised this way I was raised to be not judgmental and that everyone has his way of thinking...when I knew that Israel conquered palestine I used to think that all Jewish people are bad people when I said this my parents got angry on me...I have a Christian friend and we never talk about religion we just live our life...I'm really happy that I wasn't raised by an Isis member or a terrorist..when I think of how I judged Jewish people by Israel I remember what's happening now I used to think so because of media and just like before everyone is judging Muslims because of the media again...deja vu that'll keep on going until the last day of this earth...i wish that earth can enjoy peace for a week at least
*This comment is a proof, that not all muslims are bad*
If that wasn't obvious already
+Кэтишкэт sadly it is not that obvious
+jason abasi since science started to grow up they do have the right to believe that the world was made randomly...but when I got deeper I knew that a lot of scientific info were mentioned in the Quran before it was even discovered that was one reason I didn't think about being an atheist.... although everyone has his beliefs and I fully respect that as long as they don't abuse others for their beliefs
+jason abasi Muslims are allowed to kill only when they are in danger to simplify it self defense only....about scientific proofs at the times of Muhammad the prophet the earth was yet unknown to be flat or circular so at 79:30 allah says "walartga bad thaleka dahaha" which means and then he circulated the earth the dah is a kind of eggs that looks pretty familiar to the earth and at 55:19 I'll take a shortcut it says as two seas meet(a pure one and a salty one) a dam is between them they don't merge into each other...78:7 and we made the mountains aotads which means something that you use to keep it stable such as the legs of the tint sorry i don't know how to describe them in English the point is it's later proved that mountains keeps the earth stable from shaking and by shaking I don't mean earthquakes I mean like earth moving in multiple degrees and etc...hope that's good for you and BTW here's this one about killing: 4:32 and who kills a human for no reason or for the bad of earth is like he killed the whole humanity and who saves one's life is like he saved the whole humanity...
azzoozzgamer3 im 13 and muslim...im raised the same way as you..haha
When his mother says " I'm tired of hating people ",that got me. It takes more effort & energy to hate someone than to love...Loved that video. Thanks a lot.❤
Well put by you, sir.
It might sound untrue or corny to some people but I Totally agree.

I am Turkish and Muslim. And I love "every human being who has a good heart" in the world. I know there are many people reasons for your bad prejudices. But there are also many who are not dark-hearted. Yours sincerely to you all, wishing a world without prejudice.
Güzel
We Jews, including all the ones living in Israel, have good hearts. so i wonder if you like them and would never do them any harm
Please use your energy and good intentions to influence the thousands of Muslims (like Boko Haram in Nigeria) who hate and kill daily. Also, Turkey has never admitted to the Armemian Holocaust, which someone needs to deal with.
He's a good man.
"I am not my father" that got me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
You sir, are a wonderful human being. I only wish more people had you wisdom, strength & good conscious. The world would truly be a better place.
Very good speaker. PLUS
Glad to see a gamer and son of a bad man be so calm and awesome. There you go media. You've been beat

I watch ur vids
Jimmy is Promo hi
I consistently had chills throughout the entire video
kewl
no other words than just beautiful to describe this talk
The main message I got from this talk was that if you treat bigoted people with kindness, they'll realize that the hatred they felt towards you was unfounded. When this man was growing up, all he know was bigotry, and if it wasn't for the kindness of others plus his own empathy and willingness to change and be honest with himself, he might also have become a terrorist. There's no way to imprison every terrorist or prevent every terrorist from teaching bigotry to their children. So the only way to overcome terrorism is through kindness, acceptance and understanding.
So true!
that's what Gandhi always preached. His weapon of non-violence is still important.
Zak ibrahim you are a true hero and a true human being
Why wont you guys understand that when a muslim does something bad hes a terrorist, and when a non-muslim does a bad deed its an "accident." Life is a test and maybe you guys waste your time on such nonsense maybe the guy was mental, maybe he had problems, that doesnt give you a reason to hate.
I can't believe there isn't a wiki page of this guy.
I admire the courage Zak is showing and the wisdom he is sharing with the world.
I wonder how his father would have reacted if he saw this. Seeing how his son is able to get so much fame and respect because of heart would certainly shook him
*I'm not my father.*
_And, I'm not a terrorist._
These videos are so interesting.
i know right
Check out your local areas and see if there's a TEDx in your area. I was surprised to find that in my prejudiced little town there's a yearly TEDx that's been going strong and growing for the last 5 years and I only heard about it yesterday! Support your local TED conferences and go or volunteer if you can. Supporting TED means more interesting talks by fascinating people :)
+Hoang Duong Do we know each other ??
Laurent Pham Do we? I can't tell from just your user name.
the podcast is awesome. i usually listen to them on my way to work, or when im sitting in traffic yelling at people!
very inspirational and indeed courageous man.
Hate make us forget that we all are human... This was indeed very beautiful and an example for both type of people

UA-cam: ight we will give it them now
At the risk of sounding patronizing, I'm proud of you son. You are a gentle soul.
This is a very beautiful speech
I love TED talks, but this one moved me in so many more ways than most talks do. I think this talk is exactly what people need to watch.
His speech has left me speechless...in a good way of course. Mad respect to you man!
You are not your father also your father is not all muslims.
YES
mmmnnnoorr however, that man's father was a Muslim
Ben Hoang a non-practesing one
How can you judge someone for not being a Muslim Mouna? Only God can do that fool! Secondly people like you are ones that cause hate, by accusing others of being "fake" followers. GJ hateful religious person
Simply because you're not allowed to kill someone in islam yet this dude father did
As I human being, I thank this man for his bravery and his choices, and hope he and his family will be safe and happy forever.
As a Christian, because I am, I pray he will be blessed, and that many more will also be blessed by him, no matter who they are.
woobiesftw beautiful
woobiesftw Hey, since you at it, can you also pray for a new PS4 for me, i really want one. or do you think i should steal one and then pray for forgiveness..
Reza AP I pray you will find a world of happiness and free of annoyance, one way or another. I myself am saving for an Xbox One. We all have desires.
I asked for PS4, not world of happiness. Your God doesn't listen. Geez...
VERY ELOQUENT SPEAKER AND VERY POWERFUL MESSAGE... I DON'T KNOW HOW ANYONE COULD DISLIKE THIS VIDEO...
we must protect this man at all costs
as a muslim i am really proud of this guy
As a Christian, me too. Incredible courage. First and foremost we are all human, and virtues such as honesty, courage, integrity, dignity, kindness and love can be found in all people.
You must be proud of Osama Bin laden too
@@hattorikanzo2793 One person does not represent his entire community.
@@hattorikanzo2793 shut up kid
@@akmaldanial67 but one religion represent his entire community.✌️
Remember: extremists have no religion. They claim that they do, but they have their own stupid logic. There is no religion in this world that tells you to hate people. I'm Muslim and I respect all religions, and I have nothing against gay people. They don't bother me last time I checked. Mind your business people, and stop being judgmental. Period.
Extremist just claim to be whatever religion they think they are representing
Ye they claim to be a religion to make that religion look bad even tho they’re not actually part of that religion
@N. Sy Well spoken dude. Blessings and peace to you and yours
So true but it’s what the media doesn’t understand
You spoke well my brother!
Okay but why do I wanna give him a hug ?
Thats called empathy
Its good
Pretty sure he needs one, that's not an easy life
Tears full of my eyes after watching this. My family hold strongly believe that they hate people from different race, country, sexual orientation, and different political party. I am tired of hearing all their negative thoughts when I went back home. Thank you for speaking on Ted! ❤
sexual orientation isnt a thing
Good luck!
You are so clearly a gentle and kind soul. Thank you for telling your story
I absolutely love how calm yet smart and powerful he sounds.
"Violence isn't inherent in one's religion or race"... The best line... Much respect for you.. The world deserves people like you ❤️🙏
But there's religions which only spreading through lies and violence 🙄
The calmness in him touched me.He proved once again Life is all about the choices we make..........
As a Muslim I know how hard this was to him
This is basically what America did decades ago with black people and centuries ago with the Indians.
"I am not my father." Wow. Forever in awe of this speech.
"Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it."
-Danny, American History X
Much love to him. Bring peace to this world
One of my favorite TED Talks
I am absolutely amazed that Zac had the courage to come over and face the reality of days we are living.
This is a true Muslim!!

Always happy to hear a story in which religion fails to brainwash.
your disrespectful person
Ouji San
The fact you defend Muslims without a care for the victims tells me everything I need to know.
Its a common thread with Muslims, not being concerned with the actions of your fellow Muslims but your own own well being.
Touching..

cf delhi well there are. There are practising and non-practising muslims. There are educated muslims and uneducated muslims (in topic Islam)
There are the sunna and then there is the rest.
I know Islam and it's history
so plz. stop fooling me and yourself too.
I am proud of you that you didn't let your Family's lifestyle stop you from becoming a great man! God bless you, Zak!
A fantastic example to those who seek to change the world by violent means. Remember, when you look at this man, that there is always a different way, a better way.
A great man, thank you
You are incredible. I wish there were much more people like you on Earth. Cannot find words to congratulate you!
