  • Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór by Turlough O'Carolan for beginner harp.
The harp is a Marion 34 by Stoney End Harps in Red Wing, Minnesota.
This arrangement for lever harp is my own.

This tune is the first that comes to mind whenever I think of the harp.

I hadn't realized that the title 'Si Bheag Si Mhor' referred to fairies!

It's Irish for 'Big Fairy, Little Fairy', and has possible mythical reference to a battle between 'Big Fairy Hill' and 'Little Fairy Hill'. It's thought to be the first harp composition of O'Carolan.

I hadn't realized that either, until I looked up the piece after recording it!
