There is two things I want to add. Original CoD 4 and World at War, I don't remember paying for the DLC maps on PC back then. It was before the games were on steam and I think I just downloaded the map packs from gaming sites. I might remember wrong. Also, when it comes from the Battle Pass for MW19: I bought the regular battle pass for season 2 for that game. Since then, I have not needed to pay for another battle pass in any of the seasons for any game after that. Every battle pass gives me enough cod points to buy the next battle pass as long as I played enough. And I would never pay extra for bundles so I accually have not payed Activision anything since I bought MW2, and have still been able to collect all items in the battle pass. I don't defend them at all, but I did not catch you mention it in this video. Keep up the work
Modernwarfare 2019 is the exception. Where loot boxes would require a potential (as you call it “infinite amount of money), loot boxes were removed. Additionally, all maps and major content additions were available to all players for free. MW2019 is one of my favorites. But I might be wrong on this, but to my knowledge at least MOST of the content that requires to pay for (ie, the bundles, camos, skins) they are purely cosmetic. Actual guns that have different stats aren’t locked behind a pay wall but instead are unlocked through gameplay like 3 hip fire kills in 3 matches so on. As long as COD sticks to this formula where paid content is purely cosmetic, (and granted maybe abandon the flashy Neon pink celibrity outfits) I think it is fine. But yes what BO3 and BO6 has done between guns in loot boxes and paying for events those things are atrocious

I’d happily go back to the original mw3 dlc model in a heartbeat. Most player friendly model cod has seen, especially compared to supply drops and fortnite style battle passes as well as cod bundle stores.
modern warfare remastered was the best supply system and ill be honest i wouldnt even be mad if cod went back to this or other games used it, it gave you a goal to complete and work towards and you knew eventually you would get what you wanted and instead of just mindlessly opening drops to never get what you wanted

Yeah, you can technically build the weapons via blueprints. The skins outside of the pure blackones have no real advantage. Outside of the Shinny aspect none of the transactions iN COD are required. Maps back in the day for missing content like zombies was way worse then "I can't afford this shinny skin".

WaW-Bo2 were genuinely terrifying games made with passion that felt like a rated M game. Now we have unicorns farting as finishing moves. Really quite embarrassing.
Both bo3 & bo4 were both used as testing waters to see how much Activision could get away with & their plan completely worked out as now there’s $20-$30 bundles since MW19.
Rather than making random skins, bundles, and crossing over with absurd silly pieces of media they should make skins, bundles and crossover with media that is set during the time period the game is set in and make sense to the theme of the game. Ex: Since BO6 feels like a spy thriller, A Men In Black Crossover; LTM and missions in where you can earn XP to level up a completely "free" event BP, you'd be able to earn an Agent K and Agent J skin, along with blueprints, earn back the CP you used to pay for the pass so you can use them in the next season's BP and event BP. As for a MW game, a Black Hawk Down Crossover would had made sense. It's just food for thought tho, in an alternate universe where Activision, starting with MW went back to being a "mature" franchise but still keep a balance and blend with the skins, bundles and crossovers and just leave the silly ideas for Fortnite. Don't worry about money, just make sure your game actually works and the money will flow in as ppl enjoy it and recommend it to their peers.

Black Ops Cold War started the cross overs, not MW2-2022. There were a bunch of 80’s film crossovers like Rambo and Die Hard. Otherwise you nailed everything else
At this point, they’ve officially turned into freaking rockstar but the difference is that they make updates and Rockstar didn’t make any deals with crossovers like Nikki, Daryl, and others
Definitely a hot take from me, but I actually prefer the new store system. Yes it sucks that a skin can cost $20-$40, but at least all of those are optional and any new maps for both MP and Zombies are given for free. I spent too many years locked out of half the CoD games and most of the Zombies modes because I wasn't old enough to work for or to buy those DLC map packs and explaining how DLC packs worked to my parents at the time was the equivalent of explaining algebra to a dog. By the time I got my first real job, we were already in the Warzone era. I really don't want to go back despite being able to afford it now and I'd hate seeing other young kids being locked out of half the game.
If they do something like they did with BO4, people would start playing the game more. Bring back BO4 Quard and hot pursuit in BO6, the number will increase. Just saying.

Boy has CoD changed. The season pass from mw3 to ghosts was solid. Bo2 being the best since you had a calling card, reticle, emblem and camo for $1.99. CoD is making millions of these bundles and as long as players keep buying them, CoD will primarily focus on them rather than improving the gameplay.

WaW-Bo2 were genuinely terrifying games made with passion that felt like a rated M game. Now we have unicorns farting as finishing moves. Really quite embarrassing.

Both bo3 & bo4 were both used as testing waters to see how much Activision could get away with & their plan completely worked out as now there’s $20-$30 bundles since MW19.
Rather than making random skins, bundles, and crossing over with absurd silly pieces of media they should make skins, bundles and crossover with media that is set during the time period the game is set in and make sense to the theme of the game.
Ex: Since BO6 feels like a spy thriller, A Men In Black Crossover; LTM and missions in where you can earn XP to level up a completely "free" event BP, you'd be able to earn an Agent K and Agent J skin, along with blueprints, earn back the CP you used to pay for the pass so you can use them in the next season's BP and event BP. As for a MW game, a Black Hawk Down Crossover would had made sense.
It's just food for thought tho, in an alternate universe where Activision, starting with MW went back to being a "mature" franchise but still keep a balance and blend with the skins, bundles and crossovers and just leave the silly ideas for Fortnite. Don't worry about money, just make sure your game actually works and the money will flow in as ppl enjoy it and recommend it to their peers.
Best skins are the MILSIM ones from the first warzone where you had Canada Italy marines Iran etc 🔥 skins that's when COD was still some what in touch with reality

15:08 Black Ops 4 had the “Black Ops Pass” for $50 and that was the only way to buy the dlc. It’s an all or nothing approach.

Black Ops Cold War started the cross overs, not MW2-2022. There were a bunch of 80’s film crossovers like Rambo and Die Hard. Otherwise you nailed everything else

At this point, they’ve officially turned into freaking rockstar but the difference is that they make updates and Rockstar didn’t make any deals with crossovers like Nikki, Daryl, and others
Definitely a hot take from me, but I actually prefer the new store system. Yes it sucks that a skin can cost $20-$40, but at least all of those are optional and any new maps for both MP and Zombies are given for free. I spent too many years locked out of half the CoD games and most of the Zombies modes because I wasn't old enough to work for or to buy those DLC map packs and explaining how DLC packs worked to my parents at the time was the equivalent of explaining algebra to a dog. By the time I got my first real job, we were already in the Warzone era. I really don't want to go back despite being able to afford it now and I'd hate seeing other young kids being locked out of half the game.
If they do something like they did with BO4, people would start playing the game more. Bring back BO4 Quard and hot pursuit in BO6, the number will increase. Just saying.

I dont know. As someone who only juat buys the game. And spent a small amount of money. For battle pass years ago. I just made sure to complete it so i get the next battlepass free. Better than potentially spending hundreds of dollars to "roll" for the chance of a gun that you never got

Boy has CoD changed. The season pass from mw3 to ghosts was solid. Bo2 being the best since you had a calling card, reticle, emblem and camo for $1.99. CoD is making millions of these bundles and as long as players keep buying them, CoD will primarily focus on them rather than improving the gameplay.
Stop buying the bundles, and then they'll listen to us. If not, then they'll keep doing the same ish every year. What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting different results...

Basically activision was always building up to where we are now but they played the long game with each cod increasing the amount of micro transactions now it’s ridiculous.
Haven't played this game since Vanguard came out and its the best decision, every game is worse than the last, and with that BS microtransactions make the game unplayable for me plus the other issues. The problem is no matter what all these UA-camrs say people still like to get scammed by buying the game every year and pay for all that.

0:30 I understand the criticism, but saying that you HAVE to buy these things is just wrong. The game is $10 a month (on Xbox and Pc at least) and thats it. You dont have to buy anything. All the new maps guns and gamemodes come for free. The battle pass give you no advantage over other players. The only advantage is double XP tokens, but still the rewards you get from prestige are just cosmetic and give zero advantage. So no. You dont have to buy anything.

@ I pay $10 a month and I get black ops 6 and over 100 other games both on Pc and Xbox plus all the online features and I get exclusive discounts. I love the video. I just have to say one thing. I didn't mind paying for map packs back in the day because the games were good and addictive. The problem what we have today is, the games are not very good. I just think they need to change the whole engine they're using and start from scratch. Ever since MW2019 the franchise was on a serious decline.

Well people are clearly buying them, just play and see them everywhere. And with all that money rolling in… all they care about is that money rolling in. They don’t focus on the major points the community brings up. SBMM is stronger than ever, cheating is more popular than ever, every update creates bugs in other places. The devs don’t play the game because they’re so busy working on it so they only listen to the big boss CEO who ONLY cares about the cash flow, NOT what the community thinks.

Bo2 2$ camos were a really good idea and they warent too expensive. Bo3-4 I’ve never spent any CP and got what I wanted. Bo4 was the best as you could use reserves to get dlc guns
