  • In February 2023, a group of artists, quiltmakers, paraprofessionals, and clients of a disability social services organization in Tokyo came together to create a community quilt. The clients were involved in all stages of creation, from painting and weaving fabric to cutting and sewing the quilt top. Join the International Quilt Museum's Marin Hanson as she talks with artist Ai Kijima and Saitama University professor Nao Nomura about the recently concluded project, its planning and implementation, and the potential for future collaborative projects of its kind. A special thanks to Japan World Exposition Commemmorative Fund for supporting this project: www.osaka21.or.jp/jecfund/
