It has been much cooler in central Louisiana this July than I expected and I saw temps in the 60s at night a couple of times and 70s during the day when the tropical storm passed through Texas and NW Louisiana. My vegetable garden and fruit trees are looking like mutant kudzu this year.
I wish we could have gotten some of that hurricane weather but went right past us. So hot here in West Texas. Thank goodness for a cool down. And hopefully my pumpkins get some rain water. 😅
We hope your power stabilizes very soon. We've had ours back for several days now but it's gone off and on a lot since then. Yesterday it was mostly power spikes as they repaired more and people popped back onto the grid. We are in suburban Houston near where the eye went through.
Battery backups are great! There have been a couple times in the past year we have had our system we had no idea our power was out for a couple hours. Only way we found out is through the neighborhood Facebook group!

I have 12 solar batteries not counting the small power bricks I charge with portable panels to run fans when the power fails. By mid August my window AC should be solar powered during the day and most of the night in case we get slammed again. I also got a larger plug-in charger to use with a generator to top it off faster when needed to be able to sleep soundly.
How much was it? I'm on disability so I can't afford a normal generator so I need to figure out everything is to do all that so we can hopefully at least be semi cool if electricity ever goes out in the summer at least
@@peachxtaehyung You can get a 60 watt portable folding solar panel with USB ports, USB extension cables, and a couple of USB fans. The panel can directly power the fan during the day even if it`s cloudy. Get the largest size panel you can afford and also some "phone charger" power bricks to run the fan at night. That was how I got started. I didn`t get my SSI back pay or stimulus until November 2020 so I got a camper and most of my batteries with that. My bills are low and I grow food so I save up to get more stuff over time. I couldn`t survive if I had a car or rent. But I`m not supposed to drive with my conditions.

@@peachxtaehyung There are also some 300 watt solar power stations now going for 150 dollars. You can charge them with the panel I mentioned. Save up and get these individually over time. The Golabs 300 is a great one that will last many years but there are lots of others and all of them are good. Mine are going strong after 4 years.
