I used to be a over the road truck driver from 1992 until 2020 this song feels like he was talking to us truckers, I always felt like a cowboy always on the road a different city every day family always waiting for you to get back home, driving all night Cross country to make it back home for 7 days off with family then back on road for another 21 days. My son would cry every time I hade to leave. My First 20 miles leaving home was the hardest 😢
This song uses Old West cowboy imagery to describe the lonely life of a rock star. At the time, starting with their debut album in 1984, Bon Jovi played about 300 shows a year, using the remaining time to work on albums. When it came time to write for their third album, Slippery When Wet, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora wrote this song about what they knew: performing to lots of people who all blended together after a while.
My sister would have been happy with this one. Bon Jovi was her favorite band. I never was a big fan. There are a couple of songs I like. This is one of them.
I remember buying the Slippery When Wet album when it came out on cassette back in 1989. 1989 was also the year I saw Bon Jovi and Skid Row in concert in Pensacola Florida. It was February 4th, 1989.
Blast from the past..lol I live in Dayton Ohio and every concert I been to was here an only once in Cincinnati and that was zztop and lynyrd skynyrd but yea see bon Jovi warm up for Ratt. 80s was rocked times
This what going to real concert looks and feels like..I'm telling yall I always out front and it's so crazy loud plus feel every note vibrate thru your bones
I have a big two weeks comin up, I'm old, so I need the inspiration. I'm still proud to be an American, and I'm wanted, dead or alive....and I ride....
I'M SO GLAD YOU DID THIS IT WAS MY FAVORITE BON JOVI SONG AND STILL IS. I FEEL LIKE THEY DIDN'T GET ENOUGH LOVE AS THEY SHOULD HAVE CAUSE THEY APEALED TO WOMAN MORE THAN THE GUYS. BUT I ROCKED THE ZAMBORA HAT BACK IN THE 80'S UNTIL METALLICA SHOWED ON THE SCENE THEN IT WAS GOODBY TO THE HAIR BAND AND HELLO THRASH METAL THANK YOU AGAIN FOR TAKING ME BACK
to be quite honest, I don’t mind a couple Bon Jovi songs, but I wouldn’t call myself a fan. however, this song has always been a guilty pleasure and I figured it would be a really fun video to put together. glad you enjoyed it, Marie. 🤘🏻😁
@@shotaholic1 YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB. AND YOU ALSO DID MY FAVORITE RAPPER TOM MACDONALD THAT WAS SPECIAL FOR ME THANK YOU VERY MUCH I LOVE YOU'RE WORK AND HOW YOU COMPILE THE REACTORS SO AWESOME.
Sometimes i forget my age, because it still shocks me that there's people who don't know Bon Jovi. They were the first album (yes album) I owned when I got my first stereo the Christmas Slippery When Wet hit the stores.
I absolutely loved this song as a 17 yr old when released and is on my top 5 to this day...unfortunately to my disappointment the one chance to see it live was not a good experience..its a studio song for sure...I remember thinking Cinderella as far as a live band blew them away and they were definitely no Motley Crue live
Not sure if I've gone done a rabbit whole here... but I subscribed to this compilation... mind you.. I already have subscribed to most of ya'll already... I'm just scared what thiis means..
sorry I didn’t see this sooner…but thank you for the sub! I truly appreciate it. also, hope you enjoyed diving through the rabbit hole here?? just an fyi, you may have noticed, my music tastes are literally all over the board. you may not enjoy them all, but hopefully you enjoy a good amount. thanks again, Michelle -Shot
Steel horse I ride is at the time it came out was A Harley 💜 A good movie with this song 🎵is Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man With Don Johnson and Mickey Rourke 🙋♀️☮️💜🇺🇸
I do have them on my “to get to” list. just takes time and I have a lot going on IRL at the moment. please give me a little time and I will gladly do up some more MegaDave.
We rock fans always dismissed the Bon Jovis of this world out of hand. It was considered chick rock. That is not to say that we changed the station when one of his songs came on.
Im amazed when i see reactors older then my kids say they never heard these songs. Didnt your parents ever play music from their generation? My kids are mid 20s, know all these songs. Thats sad
My parents loved this song, and my mom is south Indian and father Iraqi. I remember my parents taking long drives from Jacksonville Florida to see family in ft myers. My parents would get us rowled up and sing this song together😂
I thought of doing a reaction channel, but I’ve literally heard and grown up with every song on these channels. Guess I’m stuck watching others. Another thing Gen X is excluded from lol

I saw Bon Jovi in 89 in Pensacola Florida and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Skid Row opened up for them. Awesome concert.
Saw that same show my senior year of HS and Skid Row blew them off the stage
This song reminds me of what I used to be, what once was, and what could have been. It's a very inspiring tune, and one of their best.

i was a senior in high school in 1986 when this song/ album came out. still listen to them today.
oh man, the slow build to the energetic middle of this video (and song) is off the charts! I remember this was EVERYWHERE, way back when.
🤘🏻😁
Bon Jovi and Billy Idol have aged so well. Im in love with them
Great memories of the concerts I’ve seen in my life and glad Bon Jovi was one of them.

This is a great song which never got enough credit. I saw them live in August 87' Donnington Monsters of Rock ! xx
Nobody can deny. Bon Jovi is cool. Still love them.❤ Nice compilation.
Absolutely
Seen it live back in the day. Cinderella opened and it was sick.
I was never ever a fan of bon jovi i thought he was just for teeny boppers but this one song is one of my all time favorites
These people are like family. Every one of them. Much love.
They've shared so much culture and vice versa.

oh wow, that’s pretty cool.
Richie play the stuffing out that guitar.
Lets introduce Richie Samboro!?!!
Richie Sambora carries this song, he makes them all look good.
Ride to live live to ride
Apart from one Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, this here Richie Sambora was as good a lead guitarist as anyone in the 80's.
A poor man’s Axl Rose. Movie band.
The Harley Davison theme song nothing like it just ride

Great mashup, but this version of the song leaves a chunk of lyrics off at the end of the song.
