    "I knew when I saw him as a young man, he'd be successful and everything" - you would have to be blessed to live old enough to be able to address someone in their eighties this way. God has really blessed Judge Caprio

    • @akhilkenning1769
      @akhilkenning1769 2 роки тому +9

      @@greywizard3859 I didn't understand you're question but I assume you are asking what the phrase:
      "I knew when I saw him as a young man, that he would be successful and everything" means.
      The judge here means that the moment he saw the young man he realized that the man was going to be successful in life. It's essentially an appreciation of how far the man has come in life.
      The phrase "I've known when I saw him as a young man, he'd be successful and everything" is grammatically incorrect. I can give you two examples of the grammatically correct version of your phrase:
      1) "I knew when I saw him as a young man, that he'd be successful and everything"
      2) "I've known from the moment I saw him as a young man, that he'd be successful in life"
      The first sentence is more appealing as well as more impactful to the person you are saying it to in my opinion, also the second line could maybe be written as "I've known since I saw him as a young man, that he'd be successful in life" but I am not sure about this so maybe someone else could confirm it. Hope I helped :D

    Wonderful to see Judge Caprio recount is early days- The American way of life , earning per hour and coming up the hard way in life. Add to that the general way in which he deals with defendants - it is a treat to watch everytime.

    Always enjoy hearing the old boys reminisce! Camp Varnim (later Fort Varnim) was named after a Revolutionary War General. Interesting story becig sounds like it should have been for the Coast Guard . Pretty cool!

    The world will change drastically once these old timers perish.
    They demonstrate how to act, speak, and be respectful.
    What you put into,life will determine your,outcome in life.
    Learn it, live it, and hopefully with a little luck you’ll be a good decent person.

    Old school people dress up for anything. My lovely Dad use to get all dressed up, including a beautiful hat, when he flew home to Ireland on the airplane . I'd love to have those days back.
