Yes starter emtbs for people who just want to get out but have the potential to go on more interesting tracks and trails who also might want commute in rural areas and haven’t got 4K upwards to spend I actually find bike sellers don’t seem to be willing to let people try one out which is unreal when spending a few grand maybe the channel should rename itself Elite mountain bike channel as most of these bikes they seem obsessed with cost more than most people earn a month and more than most peoples cars
I don't understand why every presenter calls new bosch as a gen4 upgrade and not gen5... if this is only updated gen4 it will be compatible with gen4 bikes / battery etc... absolutely not is compatible, it is completely new generation. They are ashamed to call it new generation because of DJi?
Strange, because Steve constantly corrects this by stating multiple times that the new Bosch is an updated Gen 4 motor, but like you say, if the mounting points are different, how can that be? Very weird.
With bikes having removable and non-removable batteries, would you guys do a video on how a non-removable battery would be effected if you couldn’t store the bike indoors? Eg in a shed or Garage? As I know you should try keep the battery within certain temps etc but seeing how some manufacturers have decided to bring out non-removable batteries what is the advice for storing the bike?
Exactly this, never heard one mention on charging a non-removable battery in the winter. Even in a garage the battery & charger will be too cold to charge??
Congrats you made it all the way through the alphabet. What a great way to present a lot of bikes and content. Would you consider doing another similar video but for the hardtail MTBs for those of us more in the bikepacking / touring side of things?
You were grasping at some straws there Steve but congratulations on working your way through the alphabet 😎. EMTBs have taken massive strides over the last 10 years and now bringing better toys to the party almost on a monthly basis - someone needs to dedicate a UA-cam channel to this! 😆
I think belt drives would get jammed up with mud easier than sprockets and chains not that they couldn't be clogged too but they would be easier to clean off in the field
We must not seen them at any trade shows otherwise we would have taken a look at them for sure! Think we mentioned them on the EMBN Show when they released?
I see you have Canyon on this list for 2025 ironic as they issued a stop ride notice in November, no idea what’s happening, bought after watching the reviews on here .. where are Canyon ?? Very quiet on what they are doing to help !
I criticised you not long ago for not mentioning removable vs non removable batteries enough as I think it's really significant especially given many of your big mountain epics have relied on carrying multiple batteries. But in recent videos you've mentioned it frequently and I expect you'll mention it in future reviews too so credit where credit it due!
Probably could have stopped at “A”. DJI has produced a great frame around an excellent motor and battery, which are leaps and bounds above anything else. Paired with the best components, this bike is the new standard. Maybe a 5 lb frame is the easy part…?
Glad I don’t need to watch this video (thank goodness - eye candy is too much - plus I don’t want to have any regrets 😂) - I just bought the Specialized Turbo Comp Carbon for a steal - couldn’t resist the almost 50% off - granted a new 2022 - but I’ll take it. Rides like a champ. hopefully this is the last mountain bike I need before I hit the dirt - I’m 57. So, I’ll go out with my Trek Slash 9.8 GX AXS (digital shifting has taken time for me to get used to - but I love it)! #2 Trek Top Fuel 9.8 XT (trail riding) / Trek Farley 5 (winter riding in the northeast / and finally to top it all off / the ebike to help with cross training. Amen.
Please please please do a starter bike group test for new riders or people that haven’t ridden for decades that an emtb may open up new horizons for that want an affordable bike not £4K upwards as this channel rarely mentions and bikes with uk product dealer and warranty support please
I hear you 29 inch wheels are not for me either! 27.5's are max and carbon frames are not much lighter! I would rather have aluminum alloy which is much stronger and not that much heavier!
Thanks for your reply I was aware of the issue POLE was experiencing early on. I sure hope they are able to resolve their issues, they have a great ebike.
I wouldn't buy any electric mountain bike with 29-in wheels I like the 27.5 that's the max I would go! 29-in wheels are too big my buddy's 6 ft and a half inch and he couldn't touch the ground on a medium bike with the seat all the way down those wheels are too big 27.5s are much more nimble and most people that ride mountain bikes are not looking to go over rocks easier I mean let's make 35-in wheels! Why stop at 29 let's keep going until they're ridiculous! Not! 27.5 is plenty so now all the bikes have to be reworked to get rid of the 29-in wheels that adds another $1,000 on to all these new bikes along with the derestriction which costs more money! In the US when you own something and buy it you can do whatever you want to it because you own it!
So DJI introduces a bike that weight wise and power wise blows everyone else outta the water! Why? Is everyone else stupid? And Eman keeps talking about other "banger" ebikes. Why? I guess he can't piss off the has been sponsors.😆
Variety is the spice of life! That one bike has definitely had a big impact, but there's a world of others that suit different purposes that can't be ignored 👍
Your videos are UNFORTUNATELY not relevant because none of them show/carry a WATER-BOTTLE, an essential requirement when cycling for more than 60 minutes. Please always show/carry a water bottle on ALL your future bikes videos so it is easier for us to "weed-out" the bikes/manufactures that omit such a essential requirement!!!!
I don’t actually know anyone that doesn’t ride with a hydration pack anymore. Really hard to stay hydrated off of only a water bottle. Water bottles are mostly the space for a range extender.
I don't know what the big deal is when I'm smoking them on a peddle bike too be honest there dangerous for us peddle bike riders an thay can't go as far as us on a charge
Did we miss anything from this list? What would you include?

Yes it's strange how they are referring to it. If your gen4 breaks you can't put the newer motor in as the mounting points are completely different.
Agreed it should definitely be called the gen 5, its a completely different motor
Strange, because Steve constantly corrects this by stating multiple times that the new Bosch is an updated Gen 4 motor, but like you say, if the mounting points are different, how can that be? Very weird.

any ebike with 200mm of travel ?
specialized turbo kenevo anche change the fork from 180 to 200 (a lot of people dome that even if its officially not permitted)
Thanks for another great Review of what we can get.
What about Cube bikes?
supposed to be best.
overpriced and not really known
At least you can ride one unlike the canyon …
With all the chains, cogs & cassettes that e-bikes burn through, I would think the future leans towards belt drives!! 💪🤠🔥
Maybe more will in the future! Time will tell ⏱️
@@embn I think it's inevitable and I also see batteries getting lighter and smaller so that we have the dream bike within the next few years...
