Made me realize that without any context, it *is* actually kinda creepy how Frosty just spontaneously came into being and started playing with random children.
@@barbieoftheweeksame here. I think it's a toss-up between Frosty and Duck-Duck-Goose for my all-time favorite. So many to choose from though that deserve the brass pineapple.
A new holiday tradition! My wife and I spent last New Year's Eve watching every Harry Potter Pitch Meeting and we plan to do it again. I'm adding this video to our annual Christmas viewing.
If you've never done that at some point of your live its only cause it doesn’t snow where you live. There's no other explanation to not participate in such a beloved winter tradition. And even then, what exactly is stopping you of pretending your imaginary snowman is an imaginary priest? See, anyone can participate if they really want to.
"Why December Is Always Exhausting" is one of my favourite all-time sketches of yours, right alongside "First Guy to Ever Celebrate Christmas", which is the terrifying reveal of your spawn!
You know the first thing that pops in my mind when I think of Christmas is dancing zombies and demons. Oh, and thanks for reminding me child Ryan exists, he had stopped showing up in my nightmares. Merry Christmas, Mr. George.
I think the second-to-last one was supposed to be an actual man if made from gingerbread.... but the last one was straight out of Gray's Anatomy. I dunno, man. Haven't a clue.
This is now officially a part of my Christmas tradition... my grandchildren will watch this compilation with me one day... probably in virtual reality. Also Parson Brown will be there, but still not "physically there"....
These are just awesome, with so many great moments - too many to mention. You just gotta watch and love Ryan's insight into the hidden weirdness of our lives. The months arguing about December is comedy gold, for example.
2:47 Fun fact. The original version of Baby It's Cold Outside had the singers reversed from what we now know, with the man wanting to leave and the woman asking the him to stay. The most popular versions that we know are the gender swapped versions.
It was written as a gender neutral song, where either role could be played by anyone. However, there was no official recording of it until it was performed in Neptune's Daughter where Esther Williams played the role of the person wanting the other to stay, while Ricardo Montalbán played the role of the person planning to leave. So, in the original recording, it was "gender swapped" from what we most commonly think of.@@ThePancakeJedi
@@danielslack9114 I'm still waiting for this "fact" to become "fun". Also, the song isn't about a woman who wants to leave. It's about a woman who doesn't want to look like a trollop, but actually plays coy and wants to stay. I swear to God nobody understands subtly any more....
I can't even imagine the amount of helium Ryan had to go through for that "How Is Santa Still Alive?" sketch. Dude must have a clown hookup or something.
All of these are great sketches! Of course, my favorites are the one with the months having an intervention and the one with the first guy to celebrate Christmas.
Hey, my family *does* have a Christmas soup as our tradition. It's oyster soup along with ham for those who don't like oysters. That's a **big** step up from the previous tradition of lutefisk.
Love all of your stuff! Watching your videos is kinda like comfort food to me, except less calories. When you write your scripts do you name the characters?
The Frosty the Snowman bit should have led DIRECTLY into a segment about the song with mom making out with Santa Claus. Seamless transition for the win.
I really appreciated that first snow man build sketch. Where the hell are people getting coal from, I always wondered? And why would I put perfectly good clothes on the thing, which will invariably get wet, freeze, and then be ruined when the fibers consequently tear? You know what? I think I just realized why I didn't have many friends as a kid. lol
Because coal was a common heating fuel until not that long ago. Definitely during the late 19th and early 20th century when the image was popularized in seasonal popular media. Most of the stuff we think is "traditional" about Christmas doesn't really go much further back than the 1930s or 40s, and it's mostly corrupted traditions from the late 1800s. Coal used to be a cheap and easy thing to find to use, and you didn't just leave a coat out there all winter. Clothes weren't as cheap as they are now, you were pretty lucky to have a coat and some boots until the 1950s. My house was still heated with coal when I was a kid, wood and coal. But I don't remember using it many times for snowmen. It's not a great media actually, and we only tried it after hearing it in the song.
@@justforever96 Appreciate the detailed reply! Re: coal. How was it obtained? Delivered, with perhaps a chute that led into the basement? When I was young, I recall we had an oil tank in the basement for heat, with a hook-up outside for deliveries. I don't recall anyone still using coal, though.

The Frosty sketch is still one of my favorites. The delivery on "he'll be back again someday" makes me lose it every time! 😂

You and me both lol 😂
"Blood!"
Total nightmare fuel.
Ryan is proud of his beautiful baby boy. Show some respect
You're right, it was great until then.

I love pretending my snowman is an imaginary priest named Parson Brown and then talking about my love life.
