A useful video prior to taking PPL exam. Class F airspace was removed in 2014 and reallocated as either E or G as appropriate. Also, there is currently no Class B in the UK.

For info: ref difference between 'Class G' and 'Class F', both of which are 'Open FIR'. Class F is marked just as a simple center line on the aviation maps (think of 'F' as a main road that ANY 'vehicle' can use NOT motorway/learner driver prohibited) indicating that this is a ROUTE used by aircraft (mainly airliners) BUT a route that is NOT busy enough to require 'controlled' protection of Class E or D (or A).... So a Handy Hint for paraglider pilots flying in the 'Open FIR' but within 5nm of the Class F center line and thermaling above the 'transition altitude' can use the 'quadrant rule' to INCREASE their visual scan in the appropriate direction for the 'Quadrant' that airliners would be coming from AT THAT ALTITUDE.... NB as Class F is a line only TWO (of the 4) quadrants will be used by aircraft actively utilizing 'F'..... this giving 'conflicting' powered aircraft a 1,000ft VERTICAL separation (roughly speaking a airliner heading NE will be at a 'odd flight level) say 5,000ft, 7,000ft, 9,000ft etc nominally... while airliners flying SW will be at an EVEN FL, i.e. FL 40, 60, 80 etc. :-)

please be aware that bhpa qualifications dont mean shit. they are not an official body and have no more international recognition than a reiki practitioner

Other organisations copied and adapted the BHPA syllabus and as thanks look for ways to slate the organisation. Insecure!
