Take that BC! Tsunami Propagation using Shallow Wave Equations!

  • I'm doing this for a class on concurrency. It is a pretty cool problem to apply concurrency towards.
    This uses shallow wave equations to propagate a huge wave accross the BC coast! Tsunamis are basically always shallow waves, eventhough they are huge.
    It is not a perfect simulation, but it also isn't bad. Water is conserved, nothing explodes and it follows typical tsunami behavior with respect to propagation and ramp up! It moves or land in a destructive manner, but also takes the path of least resistance like rivers and lakes.
    I particularly focused on Vancouver Island, because I have a vested interest in seeing it removed from the face of the earth.
