I appreciate you commenting back I’m just trying to find out I’m not a big traveler but physically I can’t be in a cold state .country .city .area .I prefer the warmth it helps my body work better Currently I’m in New York and the cold weather really hinders my activity
I'm sorry I'm not sure gingy oh honey I'm sorry I don't know how to say her name
Love your videos! Kathleen in Russellville, Kentucky USA
No not at all they are setup for individuals as well 😀
Well in robert grant I understand that just have no choice right now I live up in mountains new hampshire I have rare nerve deasie called RSD can't use my left hand the use a ax cutting a log for the wood stoveax came out and my slide in between the log crushed it life took the wrong way in life that why I enjoy watch the utubers cause give something when am up can't sleep it's to watch great video watching the barn come alive and watching call home steading
Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy watching your videos. I lost my husband to suicide in late 2019. We used to work on projects together and had a hobby farm with a few cows and a small flock of hens. I get a little envious of you, Bea, but I’m truly happy for you both. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Hoping that Gingee will fully recover and be back to her old self soon.
Thank you!
Central Portugal is a beautiful place. I totally agree with keeping your location under wraps. Privacy of Life is important. I surely hope Little Gingy will be up and running around soon. We love watching your off grid Life in Portugal. It is our favorite show to watch on Sunday's!
Thank you!
I also agree that keeping your location to yourself is up to you, but can I suggest you visit/contact your local Bombeiros and give them your location exactly so if wild fires head your way they know somebody is there and can focus help in your area. In the past people have set up 'house' off grid in the middle of no ware and have died in forest fires because "nobody" knew they were there. Be safe take care all.
Another thing I like about you is your unity and also your funny antics and sense of humour, so refreshing in the midst of all the bad news circulating! Thanks again!
Yes! Please go on day trips. I would love to see Central Portugal.
Yeah I would really love to see too
Road trips would be cool.
Agree
Poor little Ginjey Bear. I sincerely hope that she is not badly ill or injured and that she will soon be well again.
Now that I know where you both live, I can understand even better why you chose Portugal as your new home. It's a beautiful country and a beautiful environment to live in.
You have chosen a really beautiful wood for your house. I can't wait to see how it will look in the end when the loft is finished. And once the skylights are installed and the house has natural light inside, I'm sure it will be gorgeous.
All the best to you both and your animals.
Oh, I hope Gingey is ok, she's such a sweet cat. Really concerned that she might have an injury. What challenging times you all face. Thanks for bringing us along for the challenges.
I only have 6 channels I follow and you guys are my favorite. ❤ You are great at combing and delivering your thoughts. And I always enjoy learning simething. I can't wait to see the barn finished and you living comfortably in it. Thanks, I look forward to your progression on everything.
I’m a little sad that you gave up your bangs, aka fringe. I know feedback was not universally positive but some people don’t like change. I thought you looked great and it brought out eyes and smile.
Yes. I loved the bangs. Don't listen to. STUPID people.
I agree.. Really suited you Bea in my honest opinion xxx
Eh sometimes when you're not use to bangs you just want them off of your face for a while.
why do you call them bangs ? i never got that at all , we call it a fringe , that i get a bang is a loud noise
@@jitaamesuluma9730 fringe undoubtedly makes more sense. I wish I could explain “bangs”. It’s just an American thing that started long before I was born. There doesn’t seem to be any logical reference or a historical one for that matter.
Good morning from from Campbellsville Kentucky in United States. I've enjoyed your episode of building your home is such a pleasure to watch you're so kind and soft-spoken and easy to listen to a good cup of coffee in a muffin and a sit down and watch you is been my pleasure every Sunday thank you so much. It's nice to have something good in your life to watch the all the turmoil going on you are a blessing. Lord bless you and have a wonderful week your friend from United States Linda Curry
Thank you Linda!
Linda I agree with you. Love my cup of coffee and my Sunday visit with Theo and Bea. Then I visit with Emon and Bec in Canada.
@@suedorfman7138. love them to they are one I watch the most and u too it good to smile god know we all need it pray you 😺 kitty will be ok . look forward to Sunday .🍵 and prayers from ky USA .
I really hope Gingey Bear is back to her beautiful healthy self soon! And yes please- when lockdown is done I would LOVE to see you explore the length and breadth of Portugal. I’ve only been to the Algarve but your area I am sure has a lot to offer. Very intrigued indeed.
I do hope Gingie is ok. Timber is lovely & thanks for sharing your lives with us 🙏🏼
Thanks for your videos.. it’s a highlight of my UA-cam watching week! Your friendly smiles and attitude help lift me up!
Thank you David!
Hey you guys. Glad to see you're both well. I did give a little smile when you said about the weather. It's been so gusty here in our area (Bedfordshire, UK) this last few days. We thought the marquee at our pub was going to take off. The wood looks great Bea, well done. Am glad you got the rotten stuff back to the wood yard. You both achieved a lot this week. I do hope Gingy Bear is ok and she has a speedy recovery. Take care of yourselves xx
I’ve been really loving the background music lately!! I also hope Gingey gets better soon
It warms my heart to see you two working together toward your goal of a beautiful tiny home! BTW, your chickens are so beautifull! It’s so rewarding working together to achieve your heart’s goal! Kinda different but the same, my hubby and I just got a 1973 MGB that we are working on together to restore, and are having soooooo much fun together!
I live is the USA and will never get to Europe so I would love to see some of the surrounding areas where you live. You two deserve your privacy and people need to respect that. I have loved your travel vlogs and also the build vlogs. You guys have done such a wonderful job on your home and can’t wait until you start the inside of your home. Love you two and Jingee and Fernando and the chickens. Here’s hoping that it’s nothing serious with Jingee.
No matter what comes your way, you always have smiles on your faces! So refreshing!
Thoroughly enjoyed every part of the video. Bea, you have the best looking Roosters on youtube, 🏅🏅🏅
Handsome boys!
Bea your amazing, the way you pushed the truck you go girl!!!
God bless Gingey Bear, praying she has a quick recovery.
Bee is such a trooper. You take everything in stride and run with it. Such patience. Keep up with the great attitude. It will get you through a lot of problems. Love this video!
Thank you for sharing your life. We all have journeys and yours is spectacular 😊
Thank you ❤️
Hope Gingie is ok. Love your attitude towards challenges just so positive. 🇬🇧❤
From what I've seen of the landscape in your videos, I always thought you were somewhere around that area. It's a beautiful part of the country and very slow paced. Good for living without much stress.
It is the slow pace and quietness we love ❤️
You have the most beautiful chickens!!! I've been around many different breeds and am just in awe each time I see your flock!!! I really enjoy your videos!!! Your cabin is already beautiful and is going to be gorgeous when finished!!! Glad Gingy is on the mend!!!! Stay safe and best wishes from Kentucky!!!!!
Guys, make sure you never give your exact location. Actually, only giving the approximate location.... I'm not sure it's very wise.... There are all kinds (mostly good, I'm sure) of people who watch you. It's just not safe or wise for everyone to know your whereabouts. Take care! You are precious people! Hard working, diligent, kind, and really on-the-ball, a good sample of a nice couple who knows where they want to go.
Poor Gingee! Hope everthing is going to be ok it her. Get well soon Gingee. That part of world Castelo Branco . I know it very well. My Mom's Family is from Cardigos small Village. But lovely . Thank you for sharing with us. Be safe!.. see next week.
Get well soon Gingey Bear ❤ It would be fun to see a bit more of the sights in Portugal...
Thank you!
I hope poor Gingy is feeling better soon! And. I miss the fringe - I loved it. Looked so good on you! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your lives with us and your journey. Would love to see pics of Portugal through your eyes. Stay safe and God Bless:)
Yeees Castelo Branco!! There's so much to explore there, the little villages, so unique and full of character. Hope you have the opportunity to go and see them.
do hope that gingy is okay. I have such a soft spot for animals especially cats. your place is really coming along nicely. Give a big kiss to both kitties
I hope Ginjey Bear is okay. I do enjoy your channel so much. Thanks for sharing your home and the work it is taking.
I’ve been to this area and it’s beautiful! There are the Aldeias Históricas and one in particular is very peculiar: Monsanto. Check them all when you can. And in the summer, look for the Praias Fluviais. Keep up with the great work!!!
So glad you purchased hard hat with ear defenders and visor... Better safe than sorry is the phrase that springs to mind! Thank you for sharing your project very inspiring... 🙂👍
I’d love to see Portugal and maybe a backstory on what drew you to choose it as your place to call home. If you’ve already done that and I missed it, sorry. Prayers for Gingey Bear, please don’t leave us hanging on how she is doing.
Hope everything works out well for the kitty. Things rarely go as planned. This is life. Happy week ahead guys.
Hi guys yeah thats the trouble with older cars/vans, I had the same go on two cars, no fun pushing them to start. Poor Gingie hope she is okay and feeling better soon. Keep well and safe and keep smiling from the very Windy & Cold Midlands xx
Thank you 😊
It would be very interesting to see a video about your grocery supplies, where you are able to purchase day to day produce and longer term staples.
Hi guys I hope Gingie is on the mend to a full recovery. I would like to see more of the surrounding areas as I am not familiar with central Portugal. ty
Keep on staying positive, all your work is going to be beautiful ❤️💙🙏
Let us know asap how Gingiebear gets on. Hope she's fighting fit soonest. x
She’s had a bumpy ride but I can say she’s on the mend now!
Your day is like everyone's. Things come up. Hope the truck is fixed and runs well for a long time. Glad you are happy with the wood shipment. Poor Gingey. Hope she didn't get bitten by something in her hunting expedition. Can't wait to see the next steps.
Would love to see some vids of the local area. Me and my Portuguese wife are looking to move to Pedrógão Grande when we can get over and start looking at houses.
Hi, I have been following you two/3 now 4 for most of your journey, I love what you have done, be proud of yourselves.
I love that you both are able to keep such a positive attitude during challenging times. 💜
❤️
Poor Gingey Bear. Wishing her the best and speedy recovery. I would love to see more sights when lockdown is over. Congratulations on your successes with Barn conversion. It’s been a journey but well worth it. I look forward to seeing your videos every Sunday. It’s my Sunday morning routine.
Really love seeing the area you guys are in. I can't believe people would invade your privacy like that & try to find you.
Love your kitties!!!
You guys are always so positive no matter what bad things happen.
You’re an inspiration, keep up the good work.
Good to see you finally got your wood replaced and can get on with the house again. Hope Gingey Bear is ok 👍☹️
Thanks!
Trusting that your privacy will still be yours.....it is a lovely property and we have such a good time watching you put it together......
Day trips! Yes
Here’s hoping Gingy Bear is on the road to recovery already. Update?
Stay strong. The chestnut is gorgeous & love the idea of black lag bolts
Thank you, she’s doing better now ❤️
I've been watching your videos for a while now, the way you guys deal with things makes me feel so positive. I'm portuguese but I live in Porto and it's lovely to see Castelo Branco I never been there. I wish you guys all the best and hope Gingie will recover quickly, so she can go back to exploring the land!
O my you guys surely do not act like city bums! You can do anything you out your mind to. Such a great example. Stay safe.
Aw thank you!
It IS perfectly ok to protect your privacy. You share whatever you feel comfortable sharing and your followers should respect that. I love your project, your enthusiasm and honesty. Keep it up and best wishes to you!♥️
For some reason I just noticed the stain on Theo’s gorgeous yellow hoodie. It made me wonder how you do laundry. Probably just me being a Mum of 3 boys.😸 So sad to see Gingee in pain. I hope you get a chance to update us during the week. All the best.
That stain won’t come out!!! I took it to a launderette and it wouldn’t budge 😂
I wondered exactly the same thing for exactly the same reason! 😆
@@theindieprojects Shout Triple Action (hopefully you have that there) . Pretreat for 20 minutes wash and repeat until the stain comes out. That stuff is amazing.
@@littlemontanalady well, if its paint of some sorts- forget it!
There are more essential things to life than care about a stain!
@@carolinemaja2199 No doubt but it's nice to get a stain out of your husbands fav hoodie. If it's paint you have to use some alcohol before you wash it and gently work it out with an agitator like your finger nail. Haha my husband is handy and gets many a stain in his fav cloths.
Really worried about Gingy bear. Please keeps updated You guys are so driven and patient and just never give up attitude. Praying for u guys and gingy bear
You two are so precious! I so admire what you are doing with your beautiful stone cottage. You are wonderful parents to gingie bear And Fernando. Let’s hope Gingie is going to be OK.
One thing I really admire about you is the way you always rise above every frustrating event that is part of living far from a city and that is just part of life on Earth, actually. You just have a great "bounce back" attitude and don't let frustration phase you. Thanks for the good sample!
Theo, you probably have already thought of this: for the ridge pockets, I would create a pocket template out of scrap wood that you can clamp or temporarily screw into the beam to guide your router. Then all you have to do is control the router depth when you are cutting the pocket out and they will be tight and identical. After you have the positioning of them all figured out, this should make the actual creation on the joist pockets much easier.
Hope gengie gets well soon and little tip if your belts clogg up with sawdust while using belt sander fold up a plastic bag I normally use black bin liner fold up set it going and quickly touch belt will clean up sand paper
Love following your adventure
You should have still kept it a secret where you live, now we know. However we would like to see more of central Portugal. That would be great please.
I have to admit that I have a ritual with your early morning video's. I tend to the cats and dogs, make my coffee and find a quiet place as not to be interrupted. Its like getting updates on family far away. Did I mention I'm 66? Lol. I checked out your town and the photos are amazing...so clean and pretty. Directions stated that "You can't get there from here." (Alabama) Prayers for Gingie.
You guys ever visited piódão? That’s north of Castelo Branco amazing place. Also the estrela mountain! Central Portugal is my favourite place.
No not visited Piódão will have to check it out! The Estrela is gorgeous
Its105km from Castelo Branco
Your innocent ignorance is absolutely adorable. I just enjoy all of your different terminology for just about everything. You two are just the coolest. Y’all need to keep it going, because your content is second to none
Can’t tell if that’s a compliment or an insult 😂
Yes please would love to see more of surrounding areas. Love Portugal been many times albeit to very touristy parts, would be good to see Portugal as it is for those living there. Great video hope Gingey recovers soon 🙏🌈🧡
Thank you! There is so much to see here 😍
Hi there I'm from Lisbon and into car business. Like you said those pick up vans are quite popular in the Country side. Couse you hit it with the hammer and it goes... Locks real like its the brushes from the starter. Make sure the guys from the workshop don't try to reap you off with a complete new starter... Those brushes are easy to get and fast to replace... I also notice that when the engine starts make some white smoke and lot of engine noise... It can be those glow plugs... One or more broken... That is cheap also... What you can invest is a diesel service to the injectors, that will be a bit more expensive but you will feel the smotheness on the engine running... Hope it helped... All the best for Ginger too... Keep up with the great content and we (Portuguese people) are real greatfull to You...
I’d be satisfied just watching that gorgeous rooster scratch around all day! I’m in agreement with the others, I’d feel better if you’ll ‘vaguely’ showed us around. But not to where folks could find your property. Most folks have the character to know not to just show up on your door step but you’ve got those ‘unauthorized’ folks who think they are entitled to disrespect the rules of common curtesy!
Yes please show us more of Portugal. Loved the video. Feel better Gingey Bear.
I think it is absolutely terrible for people to try to impose on you, than you for sharing your journey!
Thats what careless 'fans' do....
@@carolinemaja2199 sad, they should sit back and enjoy the project and not intrude on the people.
We have an old Nissan van...same problem...had to smile at your tricks to park up a hill! We put the reconditioned startermotor in today...I danced a little jiggle in the road...was so glad it's fixed!
Hey Bee, you'll be on the QVC shopping channel next! 😀. 💕🇬🇧 From Dudley, West Mids.
😂
Your videos are getting better each time. Keep up the good work!
Awe poor Ginger bear,l hope she's ok💖
A nice episode and well life is what it is. Sending healing power to gingee bear that she will be well soon. Be well till next sunday
Hi guys,
I’ve been a subscriber for a while, always thought that the soil and surrounding vegetation in your property were really familiar but I never really paid too much attention. Turns out, I live in Castelo Branco really close to the veterinarian where you were in this video!!! Small world I guess :)
Just Don't go an announce yourself at their home, maybe they could meet you for coffee?
I am not going to show up, nor do I know where they live just because I recognize a couple of places in the video, that was not the purpose of my comment. I just wanted to express some joy and appreciation to them because they chose this part of the world and let them know they have a local follower/fan (among many more local followers I am sure).
That was a interesting & enjoyable vlog......showing you your real life going on......them sanded beams look beautiful........stay safe........thanks for sharing
At first glance that timber looks so much healthier. Furrnando doing an inspection of course just to be safe.
Inspector Furrnando
Thanks for posting and sharing. I am glad to see the new beams.
The truck probably needs brushes in the starter, or a solenoid, but first clean all the connections between the battery and starter, and also the earth lead between the battery and chassis and the chassis and engine block. Sandpaper until shiney, little dab of vaseline and reassemble 😊
Now there's some useful advice!
My husband will often seal the connections to the battery with a bit of wax. Those connections look sketch though.
Thinking more about this, what the garage man did was to short the two big terminals on the starter, mimicking the operation of the solenoid. If you run a cable from the small terminal on the starter and touch it to the positive of the battery the starter should operate, and if the key is in the run position (the one before crank) the engine should start. If this is the case the fault is in the low current side.
I replaced the brushes once on my starter, for my old 68 VW Van if an old girl like me, can do it, You can too, but VW's are the easiest vehicle to work on
Hope Gingie Bear is feeling better soon.....its very worrying when they are hurt and unwell. Sending love ❤
Happy thoughts
I hope Gingie is okay? It will be an awfully long week waiting to find out. Great to be part of your amazing life in Portugal. Best wishes.
Hi Guys, you can't check a battery with a Voltmeter, you need a proper drop test on the battery. That being said, with the screeching from the flywheel end, that indicates that the bush has worn out in the drive end of the starter. Then if the bush is worn out, the motor will probably need a new set of brushes, which are probably soldered into the motor.
Actually turning the key with the voltmeter connected is a reasonably good test. If the battery is knackered, the voltage will drop rapidly once you turn the key. If the voltage stays the same, the starter isn't drawing any current, so starter solenoid, starter or maybe ignition switch (you could rule out the latter by jumping the respective posts on the solenoid). If the starter is clicking, the key and solenoid are probably fine and the starter motor is broken.
From a New Mexico kitty lover to your kitties in Portugal.....get well sweet Gingey Bear♡♡♡ Love your channel!
Reality is part of life, isn’t it? Plans are fine, but one must be flexible, right? I highly respect your privacy, and hope all works out for our lovely girl. 🤞😻

Life happens. Hope you can get the truck, and especially Ginge sorted. Good to see the chestnut was sorted to your satisfaction.
Yes, be very careful with your location. It might be an idea to actually mis-direct. I occasionaly follow The Nomadic Movement channel with a couple setting up in Panama. They've had a lot of people turn up on their doorstep unanounced. Recently they made a video about it, but unfortunately I can't see it on their video page. They may have taken it down or it's buried in a video of another subject which doesn't show up as watched by me. Perhaps some followers, who were guilty of "visiting" took offence. They are almost the same size channel as yours. Perhaps you could contact them to find out to what extent they kept their location secret. Determined people may need only little info. It certainly isn't cool.
❤️
Hope Gingey Bear is okay.
Yes, look forward to day trip around where you are.
Great job on everything, keep it up.
Sounds like a diesel it won't have spark plugs.. Think it's the solenoid on the starter motor, try hitting it with a hammer.
Maybe newer models. My pickup is 23 years old and has spark plugs. It's diesel. So easy and cheap to fix. Everything is accessible, my mechanic loves to work on it. I usually watch him do it, since this type of things have always bewildered me.
If its the solenoid thats sticking just put the vehicle in gear and rock it, dip the clutch and it should then start👍
@@carmenmariacortesmarin2664 Doesn’t matter how old it is. Diesels are compression engines. No spark plugs. Maybe you’re thinking of glow plugs?
Can't stress the importance of knowing the difference between a diesel engine and a petrol engine, that's not got spark plugs it's a diesel engine.
@@carmenmariacortesmarin2664 🤣🤣🤣
