This is crazy high production for less than 5k subbies. Can't wait to watch this channel grow.

This gave me all sorts of good feels about the beautiful symphony of cooperation that it takes to live in our modern world. Good job capturing this particularly wet and slimy part of the symphony, SHORELUNHCH crew!

Ive seen a good number of hatchery coverages, even been to my local one, it's always cool to see different operations and techniques just for different species and goals. Good show. Thanks for not kissing the dead, spawned out salmon 😂

This is a great video to sum up the process of salmon hatchery work! Im in my first year of working at a Tribal salmon hatchery in Suquamish Washington where we spawn Chum, Chinook, and Coho. Its awesome to see the parallels and slight differences in our processes compared to other hatcheries.

Thank you! I’d be interested in checking out some other hatcheries to see the difference.

Always great to see what some of humankind does to help the natural world instead of hurt it. Thanks for sharing.

Holy shit you guys this one is so good. The overhead shots where you can see how the whole facility kind of works are MIND BLOWING.

Day 1 of asking for an image of Nate fertilizing chum eggs with his bare hands on a Valentine’s Day card. Splendid work again boys 💗

I enjoyed this little light lunch on the Clochumbia River in Oregon with an ice cream sandwich. It only would’ve been improved by two ice cream sandwiches. Or if the first one was just like really big.

I'd absolutely love to work there. I couldn't afford the drive from beaverton though. I really wish i could though.

Nice. If you really want to get creative, the Nehalem River is over 100 miles long and basically goes in a giant circle through multiple counties and under freeways before hitting the ocean ;-) I've long wanted to just drift the entire 100+ miles of river but haven't been able to just yet. 😀

In my opinion Chum are horrible tasting. FACT Even my cats will not eat them. We should just spend our money Hatchery raising the great tasting Salmon like Chinook/King and Silver/Coho and Sockeye.

Chum are way more important to the eco-system than just human food. They feed everything from sharks & orcas to the trees lining the creeks they die in. They found chum salmon dna in tree tops! A pretty cool fish indeed!

Talk about habitat loss- that weir cuts off miles of upstream habitat. A few still make it over, but not many. It's not necessary for fish collection as not all hatcheries have them.
