4TH DAY NOVENA: April 25
PATRONAGE: persons suffering from cancer, AIDS, foot ailments and other life-threatening illnesses
O good St. Peregrine, patron of those suffering from foot ailments, cancer, and incurable diseases, grant, we beseech you, relief from suffering to (name the names of the persons who are ill).
In your compassion, we beg you to intercede with Our Lord Jesus Christ that mankind may soon find a cure for the dread disease of physical cancer as well as for the moral cancer which grips so much of our world today. Amen.
Daily Prayer
St. Peregrine, you became a model priest and eloquent preacher. Grant us more vocations in these troubled times. Amen. St. Peregrine, inspire more young men and women to follow in the footsteps of Christ just as you did.
Fourth Day: TRUST OF FAITH
Scripture Reading:
"When he went to Capernaum a centurion came up and pleaded with him. "Sir" he said, "my servant is lying at home paralyzed, and in great pain". I will come myself and cure him," said Jesus. The centurion replied, "Sir, I am not worthy to have you under my roof; just give the word and my servant will be cured." Matthew 8:5-8
4th Day Prayer:
St. Peregrine, you trusted in God so completely and used well the gift He gave you to heal His people, help me to trust God completely as did the centurion. Hear the petition I bring before you and present, with our Blessed Lady, to Jesus for a healing of (here make your request).
You sought to please God in all things on earth, help me to understand that it does not matter what has been taken away but what I do with what is left.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be….
Prayer to Saint Peregrine
O great St. Peregrine, you have been called 'The Mighty, ' 'The Wonder-Worker, ' because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.
For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.
(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying)
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen.
St. Peregrine, patron of the sick, pray for me and obtain from Jesus what I ask of you!
