Most first person shooters begin with exposition but Doom is different it gives the player a gun and let's them start fighting demons right away.

I still find Doom hard to understand. E1 M1, you got a gun. 5 seconds in shit hits the fan, you go from place to place, the shitfest turns into a full-blown shitmissle, then you literally go to hell, it keeps getting harder from there.

I laughed too hard at this. Even more so when the Slayer doesn't need any holy/divine weapons to raise untold carnage (except for the Crucible, even though it's more likely the pinnacle of Argenta tech than the works of a godly being) - he just needs a LOT of heavy military ordnance.

Jesus imagine getting done dealing with a million demons and finally get to sleep, only to wake up 100 years later to do it again. For him it probably felt like he only slept for 5 minutes. No wonder he is pissed off. Can't get any fucking sleep without someone opening the Gates of Hell.
I think he is probably pissed off more because they trapped him in there, unable to complete his one and only task: kill all the demons that exist.

I think he's older than the games let on , like he could be thousands if not millions of years old but because he's a god killer he doesn't age anymore.
I know he's the original doomguy from doom 1. But to clarify the energy of hell can make its residents or users live way longer than their respective ages and that hell could have a time difference where millennia could be a minute or year on earth. And after the fall of argent d nur doomguy went on a rampage that lasted eons before the priest sealed him away. So he killed a warrior class titan, remade his armor, and still kept going until he was sealed.

For most, a demon screaming in your face would scare them. For demons, doomslayer waking up is Thier worst nightmare. He is far worse then any of them. He can only be slowed down, he is rage, he is Brit and mercy no longer belongs to him. If you are demon, he will Rip and tear you. He is literally too angry to stop. He hates you, he hates your friends. He is your doom.

Joseph Joestar the Codex entry says that the coffin is thousands of years old. Doomguy is from a different Earth from a different dimension, I can’t source that but the timelines of this UAC doesn’t match the OG Dooms in terms of the Hell invasion.

the enemies are pretty considerate , just plainly putting the gun near him for idk wat reason that that would be a good idea to do.
They probably were taunting him and then he woke up
I don't think that the enemies left that gun there on purpose, if you look closely, there is a human arm next to the pistol, so probably some scientist used it to defend himself, but was killed by the demons, maybe he was trying to reach the slayer
the gun wasn't entirely needed since you see him literally crunch the demon's brains with his hands before that moment
They were hoping for a more painless death

I never noticed it until now, but the way the doom slayer examines his helmet and brushes it off subtly implies familiarity. The Doom team like always has done a great job with nuance in their games and I can’t wait to see it when I get my hands on Doom Eternal!
