- Here is my footage from BarNone auction on October 10, 2020. That time, there was the last ten Orion VII 40ft hybrids, eight SamTrans NABI 436.10s and a 1987 Thomas WestcostER. I uploaded footage of the buses that started up. I'll consider uploading the walkaround video but I don't full confidence on uploading it. I find it a little embarrassing and my dirty lens was annoying me lol. Here is a list of the buses:

Too bad these are gone, I live in Toronto but I honestly think that these were San Francesco best buses in their fleet!
They were very unique. Unfortunately the maintenance situation was a nightmare
@@updownacross38 That is really sad, and they became retired so quietly that nobody was aware of their retirement!
@@muniadventureswithantonmor8058 Why keep these around when there are the Gillig BRT CNGs, New Flyers and Novabuses.
@@zythr9999 because muni is not ordering NovaBuses and Gillig BRT CNGs
@@xde6010 Oh okay.
I heard Woods Division is keeping the 30fts I'm so happy they didn't retire them.
Because their replacements will come in 2022.
I'm gonna miss these...
Sadly I have never gotten a chance to go on 8420 at all.
That bus has the highest pitch kneeler/ramp sound ever.
I got to! I even have a video of it on UA-cam! You can watch it and count as if you have ridden it!
Gillig CNG BRTs are much better.
R.I.P. Muni Orions! 😢
Indeed
Not all of them. We still have 30 more Orions!
just curious why did SF MUNI retire their 40 ft OG HEVs? surprisingly here in Toronto, we are still operating them, while our Next Generation Orion VIIs from 2008-2009 are dying lol
I think the maintenance on these were hit or miss. The majority of the MUNI employees didn’t like them which is a shame.
Well, you guys refurbished them which is nice. Not to crazy about the paint job but glad to see them still running :). NGs are pure junk lol
@@updownacross38 Ah I see. Toronto's OG HEVs actually got refurbished twice, the first refurbished was like a general one while the second one was the new livery, which I personally not a fan of. The OG HEVs are all currently in one division, and the maintenance in that division personally doesn't do a good job. Over half the OG HEVs sound so mediocre lately.
The earlier NG HEVs (2007- early 2008) operate quite fine and only few have retired due to budget cuts. The only reason why this batch isn't fully retiring is that they have an older propulsion system which is more reliable than the later ones.
I personally prefer the NG HEVs over the OG HEVs just because of the specs. However the OG is a far better model than the NG
@@martingr0ve64 Ahhhh ok. Damn that’s a shame.
How could they treat our 40-ft Orions like that?! Nobody wanted to refurbish them and they all died at such an early age (13 years old)!!!
@@muniadventureswithantonmor8058 LOL
These were still functional? Our local transit agency disables or removes the engine from retired coaches before auction.
Tbh, there is no point in taking out the engines since there are none left
@@updownacross38 In GCRTA's case there is. They can either scrap them, or keep them around with the transmission for those buses still on the road. I think it will still be a little time before the whole system will be Gilligs and NFIs. The ones with the DD50, up for auction, they're putting a hole in the block.
@@zythr9999 ahhhh ok. You guys still got the NABIs?
I love the Orion buses the most and the neoplans the 2nd most.
They were wonderful!
Good morning Beast Mississauga Transit UA-cam Canada Ontario 🇨🇦 🇨🇦🍀🍀🍀🍃🍃🍃
The Orion Old Generations are also being taken out of service in New York City
The hybrids right? I recall someone telling me the CNGs are all dead
The CNGs were taken out of service in 2017 now they are taking the hybrids out of service
@@GreenAppLuv Ahhh ok
@@GreenAppLuv Novabus has a factory in New York state, so makes sense to go with them for buses, as well as NFI.
Did you buy any bus from the auction yet for nearest offer
nope lol. Can’t
@@updownacross38 dude why
@@transitfan2000 I can’t buy a bus yet😂😂😂

Thank you!
@@updownacross38 I am always glad to help you!
@@muniadventureswithantonmor8058 appreciate it lol
Orion is retired
All 56 of them are since August 8, 2020. A sad scene, right?
@@muniadventureswithantonmor8058 In what way?
