I know, that's the first time I saw her, when they did the "super secret duo", and this is the first time I've seen it all the way through. I was transfixed by Kalani. Usually I can't take my eyes off Maddie... Then Kalani arrived. I do love it when they dance together, such precision and grace.

Same! She’s a gorgeous dancer! It just a makes me think of an episode when she sees her old dance teacher and her teacher is disappointed at how much her technique had changed. This is when she first comes to ALDC, maybe she should have stayed training with her old teacher? Either way her feet are flawless! Every move is on point

I know Kalani had a lot more serious dance training and better technique, but honestly Maddie looked better in this duet. Maybe Kalani didn't have a great performance this one time, maybe it's just that Maddie is more used to doing Abby's choreography, maybe it's just that this was (iirc?) their first time competing it on stage. But Maddie's rhythm, flow, extension, timing, are all impeccable.
@@princeofdatnyyes exactly Maddie is a good dancer but she rushes alot and never let the moves finish but when Kalani does it you can see her emotions through the moves not saying Maddie doesn’t have emotion she does but kalani shows it through the dance moves maddie shows it with her face
maddie rushed the hellll out of this dance. count the music and down beats- kalani was accurate 99% of the time especially with the turns. maddie rushed all sets of them
I have to say, this duet is well choreographed and executed perfectly but there’s no emotion between them. There’s no connection like Chlo and maddie had.
@@bigshotbabe yeah i like wishbone more but what i mean is that in my opinion this was set up to win against wishbone because this choreography shows off more their technique and the costumes are prettier than the wishbones costumes (only my opinion sorry if I offended u) :(
It really sucks the other girls didn’t get to perform in this competition. It also makes it nastier what she did to Paige and Chloe!! Beautiful dance tho
kalani's technique is better, but maddie's leaps and jumps are soooo beautiful (as usual)😍😍😍 and i think her turns may be better than kalanies (especially the last two)? but they're both soooo beautiful
Honestly this duet was not as good as everyone kept saying, there was barely any emotional connection between them and the steps kinda seemed thrown together like they put steps Maddie could do better like the turns whereas Kalani does the extensions and back layout better than Maddie and overall their musicality is too fast for how slow this song is. Their technique and costumes were pretty, I’m not a huge fan of the choreography however. No hate.
They had a reason to be upset. Wishbone would’ve won without Two Sapphires. They were upset because they knew that duet was gonna win even tho wishbone wouldve been first

I heard someone’s opinion saying it wasn’t really about the duet why Kelly and Abby fought.. sure it was a reason but they’re technically fighting about the group dance ironically entitles “beautiful revenge” the whole fight started because something with Brooke and then discussing it Kalani knew the group, which got Kelly upset saying she clearly wanted her kids replaced. (There’s a video of the summer before season 4 where Kalani and other girls were filling in for the group dance when taught at booty camp) which is why they it was more of a deal cause Kalani sorta knew the group. Loooong paragraph but yeah .. just cause I hear a lot about this duet being the catalyst for the fight .. but really it was about the group
it’s a very beautiful duet. it is not maddie or kalanis fault what happened to the hylands. it’s the producers and abbys, everyone makes two sapphires a big problem but it’s really not. and it didn’t ruin dance moms either
After watching both duets, it’s very clear that Chloe and Kalani have a better emotional connection and maturity with their emotions than Maddie does. Chloe and Kalanis duet was incredible. They both emulate the same level of Grace and control…Maddie has just gotten harder for me to watch over the years because I’m noticing how much she really rushes things and lacks true emotional connection to the dance. Abby really tried to make us think otherwise. Chloe was always that girl

Maddie was Abby's favorite. It doesn't mean she was the best dancer on the team. Kalani's dancing definitely looks more elegant and effortless here
