Time to make cat poop perfume
I use dryer/ fabric softener sheets. They are cheep and stay fragrant for months.
Those 2GR engines seem to be real rat magnets. There is a perfect warm place under the engine cover between the cylinder head's they always move into. Ive had to replace all the fuel injector wiring as they chewed it all down to nothing, copper and all! Thanks for tip.

Still going strong. My last Walmart car battery lasted for over 8 years. It all comes down to how you treat it.
I mean, I guess it worked, I'm not sure I follow the logic of getting rid of poop under your hood by putting poop under your hood though 🤷♂️.
Rat poop/pee is extremely toxic. It carries deadly virus/bacteria and parasites. It can kill you if you don't handle it carefully. Rats also chew up your electrical/plumbing systems in your car. Sometimes it cost thousands of dollars to repair. Knowing this, would you like to trade cat poop for rat poop?

ive seen in Germany they use an ultrasonic device that uses little power that keeps rodents out, not sure if it really works
My mom bought one after mice made a home in her 2014 RAV4's heater ducting. I don't think it works either, but like Homer's tiger rock, it's hooked up and the mice never returned... 🤣
@@fun_ghoul I bought one, tried it but it never worked. I took that thing out, disassembled it and it looked like April's fool inside: a simple circuit board with a speaker.

There was an older lady nearly drove has a new van. I mowed my yard took the dead grass and some wire I found and layed it up in the van engine and told her the van destroyed can I buy it as is. She said yes.

I mean, as long as a cat can't fit in the engine bay, it's OK. My grampa once befriended a neighbourhood stray; one night, unbenknownst to him, the cat hopped into the vee of his Buick V-8 to keep warm on a cold winter night. Like I said, Grampa didn't know, so he started the car and the cat jumped into the rad fan. Grampa was so distraught after that, he couldn't even tell my grandmother where he buried the poor bugger. From that day on, he'd always bang on the hood of his car every morning before leaving. 😿
Did gramma ask him why he banged on the hood before leaving every morning or she just looked at him like a crazy man? :D
@@vuaeco Everyone knew why. I presume he would have encouraged others to do the same. I do now too, albeit more gently; newer cars won't take the same knock a 1965 LeSabre would.

Excellent idea for the engine bay. To keep the poop hydrated enough to smell, maybe you could design a PMS (Poop Management System), maybe use a 555 timer circuit to sprits the poop periodically to keep it moist and fragrant. My problem is they get into the ventilation system and make a nest on top of the cabin filter. Dried hot red chili peppers seems to work with no smell in the cabin.
Same happened to my mum during COVID, when her RAV4 was immobile for several weeks at her fiancé's place in the Laurentians (rural area). Over three years later, her fan started making a horrible noise; turns out one of the little SOBs hadn't been cleaned out, and turned to mouse jerky in there. She kept saying she could still smell it for years...turns out she wasn't crazy after all! 😂
I love that PMS idea! Right on! Oh yeah, the cabin filter rat nest actually happened on this van. They actually pooped and peed down to my glove box compartment. It was so disgusting when I found out what was inside my glove box. It was a scene I never forgot. I had to throw away everything inside my glove box. Hence the urge to find a way to repel these rats was more urgent than ever.
@@vuaeco I think your actions were justifiable: I wouldn't wanna wear them gloves no more either ! Mouse poop smell in the engine compartment is qualitatively different... until, that is, you go to check your oil level...
@@fun_ghoul Ya, I would imagine mouse jerky scent would likely last long, especially along with the urine residu accents. But although we have an assignable cause for the smells, she coulda still been crazy.
