This is eye opening. I love the part where you said that everyone loves a hero. Someone who rose from the dust and made something out of themselves. Thank you Cynthia!
Thank you for this. I really needed it. Everyone keeps telling me to explote my difficulties and struggle and I really don't want to even talk about those things, I just want to share what I've done. Thanks again.
Hi Cynthia! This video is literally awakening! It's been so long I am writing essays for applications and somehow I have been making all these mistakes you have mentioned in the video. So after a long long time, now I know the track. Though all of your videos are just a complete package of guidance for scholarship aspirants but this one is a torch bearer! Thank you.
Cynthia, you are amazing. You have no idea how my heart melts whenever you post a video. Good job! I think you have mentioned most of the issues when writing. It's time Africans stopped the pity party. We have potential despite our problems and that is what we ought to portray.
Dear Cynthia: I really wanted to thank you for this. Actually, I was not sure if my background was enough for this challenge, but you showed me that anyone has a story to tell. So I guess I will give it a try. Greetings from Venezuela, stay healthy and glowing.
It's funny, but one of the representatives from one of the Russel Universities, told me she doesn't read "sob" essays trying to get pity. And this is just for the entrance exam, not a scholarship. So this was a wonderful reminder of that.
Thank you so much for these insights! I want to do a masters in special education and I'm applying this year for the Chevening. In my essays I've been focusing on the poor quality of the educational system in my country and how I intend to use the knowledge I gained from the master's to improve it. Does that sound like sob story?
The best thing scholarship providers can do is to consider initiating scholarships for third worlds. Most people in the third don't do well coz of poverty. Poverty at it's extreme peak makes people demotivated and some stop thinking critically.
hello, thank you for the amazing video :) I was wondering if you have any tips in regards of the word limit, how to sort out which detail is important and which we can cut out? my essay always exceeds at least 200 words :""""" thank you so much, looking forward to your reply
