My favorite book of 2023 was The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I read 52 so it is very hard to pick but that one seemed to stick with me the longest after I read it.
My fav book in 2023 has to be the library of the dead series (n1 and 2) , Agatha Christie’s poirot’s xmas, and the Marlos murder club series … they are def the top of my year! Will see what 2024 has to offer.🥰🐉🌲

💚🦚 I listened to Guy Gavriel Kay's Sarantine Mosaic. I read those books quite a few years ago for the first time and very much enjoyed listening to them this year. I'm not a huge fan of audio books because I always feel that the act of reading and the choices the reader makes edit a book and take away from my own interactions with it. But I do enjoy listening once I've read it. I highly recommend this series, btw. Also your spreads are beautiful, Hedda! Thank you for sharing!
💚🟢💚🟢I enjoyed the flip through of 2023. My favorite read of 2023 would be impossible to pick, but I really enjoyed both of the Becky Chambers books you mentioned, I found a little underhyped series Crowns of Nyxia, that I absolutely loved, Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller was an early favorite in 2023. My favorite characters were Romily and Fox from the series "Murder Sprees and Mute Decrees." I loved them so much I ended up reading the series twice last year.
My favourite book I read in 2023 is The Perks of Being and Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I loved it so much. It's so different from the movie but still very much the same. Great read for those awkward peeps out there (like me)

My favorite of 2023 was The Starless Sea, it gripped me from the beginning. In Dec of 2022 I read Nettle and Bone and that topped Starless for me. I guess I’ve always been a fan of fairytales. 📗

My favourite book in 2023 was actually The Book of the Ancestor trilogy by Mark Laurence. It has strong female characters and I found their actions and development through the 3 books quite believable and true to life. The non-linear bits of the story were confusing at first but make sense fairly quickly (don’t want to say more because…spoilers).✅ Thanks again, I am really enjoying your aesthetic in both your reading journal and planner.

I think my favorite book was 2023 was, and yes you are free to laugh, Ice Planet Barbarians. 2023 was a hard year for me and I picked this book up because the description sounded ridiculous. It ended up being exactly what I needed to get me though that time, something so strange I could lose myself, laugh, and just ignore the real world for a little while 💙
