I just bought a Mamiya C220 plus 55mm, 80 mm, 135 mm and 250 mm lenses at the biggest photoshop of Europe. The body and lenses had their CLA. The shutter of the 55 does not fire. The rest of the lenses have rotten apertures. What to do ......?
My aunt supposedly got this camera cleaned, and seeing me interested in cameras she gifted it to me. I was trying to learn all the dials, and then opened up the back, there was film in it. I closed it immediately, but I had been dry-firing maybe twice. I'm not sure if there are any shots left, how safe do you think the film is?
Great video. I was just wondering when you're close to a subject, the compensation shows where the top is. But where is the bottom is it the bottom of the frame, and do you squeeze in the image from the sides of do you just guess how much will be at the bottom. I guess it will be the amount cropped at the top?
Hi, i have a mamiya c33, and I would love to use it... Unfortunately something is blocking my exposure knob. Is there maybe a button i forgot to push to unlock? I can go in with a smal screwdriver, push away the blockage and the exposure button will go down... Maybe i can send you a photo or video explaining more accurately.
Could it be the knob on the opposite side of the canera? It says lock and unlock and if it is on the unlock setting it won't let you take a picture. Could you also have a dent in the side? I used to have that issue that would block it
@@seafire820 hi, just had a look... No, knob was on unlock, turned it a couple of times to see if it made a difference on the thingy that is in the way... It didn't move... Do you know if there is a way to pm in yt? So i can maybe send you a pic of the problem? 🤔
Hi there - great video! I just got one secondhand, but it’s missing the pop up hood/viewfinder that goes over top of the viewfinder screen on top. Is it possible to purchase these separately? I have searched but not sure what exactly to call it..
Yes, but they're quite hard to find. That said, there are a few about. Expect to pay around £85-£150 (or the equivalent in your currency). They sometimes come up on eBay but you will probably find them easier at vintage camera sellers. Alternatively buy any old C series camera that for sale as parts and take one from that.
i just bought this camera and im still unsure about the lock and unlock feature... is the film exposed while its on lock or unlock? i cant press down the shutter when its on unlock but it works perfectly fine on lock, which just seems the wrong way or maby bad wording.
I agree it is confusing! But think of it this way: you're locking or unlocking the lens attaching. So when it's locked the lens stays on and you can take pictures. But unlock is allowing the lens to be taken off, and blocking the film from light. Hope that helps
I was wondering about the same. I already shot two rolls that way and after seing the video just wonder if i was doing it the right way. Thanks for answering Nathaniel.
I have a question for anyone that feel they may help I’m having trouble with my camera, unfortunately I’m not getting exposures, at times maybe just one or two exposures, then the rest of my reel is blank
Nice camera. This was the exact model camera Diane Arbus used for most of her images.
Good overview of this beautiful camera.
Very, very, very good video. Great explanations. Thank you.

Just got one for my first medium format, thanks for the video!
can I connect a shutter release cable to this camera?
@@simensez2155 did you find out? I didn't find anything about it!
@@albapetrichor4664 you can,it screws into the plug above the shutter release bracket
Thank you for this. I have one, wasn't sure. FYI, the flash sync is on the viewfinder lens. Also put the thing on X for flash. That's all.
I just got the elder brother of this fella today, the C3. Mine has the cheaper 80mm, the f/3.7 one, but I got a discount because of that.
It will be good to learn for many people
Great tutorial ,stunning camera!
Great video! What sync chord would you recommend?

Great Video..was black the only colour available or was a silver type also available?
Are c330 lenses compatible with c33?
Thanks for the overview
Just picked up a c33 gonna take her out for a test run

Thank you so much for the detailed video! I just had one question. What is the iso range for the Mamiya c33?
Thank you! ISO is determined by what film you buy, not the camera.
It has sport viewfinder build in, right?
Correct.

I have the same issue. Did you check the shutter Of the Lens without a Film?
Coukd be that your shutter needs servicing, they are very old so the grease dries out. I had the same issue untill i fixed mine
