    Hi, thank you for sharing this type of videos. My daughter just started walking at 26 months. She doesn’t have any special condition, she is just a lake walker.
    Just keep on practicing with your child. Everything will be ok.

      29 months here. twins they stand on their own for short periods, when they throw tantrums and kick i can tell their leg strength is strong. i take their hands and walk them throughout the day. hopefully they start walking soon! i’m a bit worried.

    Thanks! My son just turned 18 months and not walking. I live overseas and accidentally sent a video of him doing something cute to my mom but all she could focus on was him not walking. It really hit me because before I was kind of the mindset that he’ll do it when he’s ready. This helps a lot! Thanks again!!

    My little boy is 20 months and still not walking yet, this video has really helped, it really hit me the other day when I took him to my friends babys first birthday and all the toddlers there were younger than him and they were all toddleing around while my little one the oldest and tallest of the lot was still crawling, I know he'll get there eventually but it really hit me then more than usual

      I have been told to look into early intervention because my son is 17 months and not walking. The kicker is I am not and have not been concerned because he is climbing steps, crouching, standing, crawling, etc. but everyone around me is feeling as though he needs intervention.

    My son is 17.5 months and not walking and I am starting to become discouraged. He has taken a few steps on his own, but often when I try to practice with him, he throws a tantrum and just wants to resume crawling. He seems to be doing well developmentally when it comes to talking and other milestones, but this one has been tough! Glad to see there are many others in the same boat. It's hard to see kids who are much younger than him running around, or constantly having to answer to people who ask if he can walk yet 🙃

    Thank you, my grand daughter just turned 2 but refuses to walk. She will bear walk, she will squat down for long periods of time. She will stand and dance. I will walk with her down the hall and abuot 15 steps she will drop and say up lol.... Thank you for making this video because i really thought there was a problem and we are missing it. My daughter will not take her out because she feels everyone is judging her. Even family members state something, to make her feel she is not a good mom. I try to research and i explain to my daughter "this baby is going to be a runner... She just doesnt want to walk yet".. I really try to encourage my daughter that all children are different.

    We started early getting help because he wouldn’t put weight on his legs. We thought it was odd but kept an eye on it but noticed he wouldn’t ever put weight on his feet. He was very sensory oriented too. We did find out he isn’t hearing well due to fluid and will get tubes placed in his ears. He’s 18 months but 16 adjusted. His twin brother is running but we struggle with this idea that maybe he really just not ready. It’s hard when I’m out with our twins in public when one is walking and playing and he’s just sitting. I feel so much sadness at times because I feel like he is missing out so much. Our OT has said she is seeing more and more delays in walking and motor delays and wonders if their is any connection to Clovis but who who knows. I don’t know if it’s that but I appreciate you sharing because we are on this same journey and your daughter ls video you shared is exactly how our son is! So it is a relief to see her walking!

    Thank you so much for this video and that provided me with more courage! My daughter is 18 months old and is not walking yet. My intuition told me that she can physically do it but she doesn’t want to for some reason and she has the fear in her. It’s all mental. We had her checked out by a pediatric orthopedist and confirmed there was nothing physical and we started her with PT when she was 17 months old. We definitely see some progress since she started PT, but I still think it’s more mental than needing to strengthen muscles physically. I was wondering what type of progress you observed during PT, and what type of major changes you saw before your daughter just got up and walked? Thank you!

    My 15month old isn’t walking. He has been cruising since about 8 months but hasn’t progressed since, still won’t stand alone etc. I feel like a failure so this is really helpful to know that even a mama with experience in therapy to have a baby that was also delayed. Some kids just do their own thing no matter what we do to help.

    I love how you commented on trusting your mommy intuition. My oldest daughter age 6 asked me recently if I had any superpowers. I told her yes, I have mommy superpowers. She looked at me in disbelief and said, "no really?" I said, "yes I have superpowers as a mommy. My kisses make your boo-boos feel instantly better, I know in certain times exactly how to help you, and even if I'm not in the same room as you, I know when you aren't eating your food. Don't worry, when you grow up and become a mommy, you get these superpowers too!" Though I was teasing her, it is true that mommy intuition is no joke!

      Most of the focus was on building the proper foundation (strength and motor coordination) to be able to walk. So sitting to stand, weight shifting while standing, play that strengthens her core, etc.. when she was close to walking we gave her a couple of toys like a shopping cart on four wheels to encourage her to walk assisted. But that was only after she really had a strong enough foundation to do it on her own.

    Thank you for this video! My son is almost 20 months old now. He’s not walking yet but making a lot of progress. Did you notice any other things that would develop more slowly with your daughter because of the late walking? For example, building a tower with blocks.
    My son just recently started building with blocks and his talking isnt really taking off yet. He’s talking a lot of gibberish though, and I hear a couple of words in between but it’s not much. I do see a physical therapist once every few weeks and overal his progress is amazing. But the stressful thoughts do pop up in my head sometimes..

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  Рік тому +2

      Hey Kimberly!!
      Language was the only related delay we noticed. And they are linked since core stability and breath control is needed for articulation. Once she started walking her language started to progress significantly! That being said, fine motor control can absolutely also be delayed due to a gross motor delay as they need that proximal (center of the body) stability for that fine motor control. Building blocks would likely be a challenge because kids don’t have anywhere to stabilize/rest their shoulders or arms when reaching to place blocks on one another. Whereas, drawing might be fine because they can use the desk or table to support their forearms.
      Hope this is helpful! Xx 🤍
