    A great and honest tribute. The longer he spoke, the more he became himself. Though ill and pushing 80, he can still deliver a word.

    Listen to his words. His story about Aretha experiences with racial injustice is remarkable. No wonder she worked so compassionately to support this cause, she lived through it! Thank you Aretha for holding up the light.

    This stage thing was a place where leaders were bumming head for who has the most influential power. Did you not listen to Areatha Franklin's song RESPECT. Minister deserves RESPECT as well weither you agree with him or not. You still we're suppose to acknowledge him remember the other brothers say what they want to and nothing is done and their race do not turn on them. African Americans need to stand up and fight the good fight of faith and step out of the slave mantality by thinking they will win the oppressors approval. Back up have a sit you will always be a Bigger in their sight. Make them respect you and respect yourself.

    Great tribute! He and Aretha fought through a lot of struggles. He quoted one of my mom's favorite scriptures at the end. Jessie has gotten older, but he's full of wisdom. Thank you Mr. Jackson

    One of his better speeches. His illness has improved his presentation skills. He's more thoughtful and reflective. He's strong and we know he can fight because he's been fighting all his life. He going to give Parkinson's a real battle.

    I Love the "inside jokes" between the Rev. Jesse Jackson, a.k.a. The Good Reverend Doctor, and Greg "Judge" Mathis! This dialogue is appreciated for it's content. Our lives are just a candle in the wind. Aretha Franklin gave so much to her people and the civil rights movement. She was a family woman and a national treasure. REST EASY: "QUEEN" of EVERYTHING, Aretha Franklin.

    Jesse was right. Every African American of voting age should be registered to vote and out voting before every election.People please
    use early voting if you do not have time to vote on election day.If you have to work take some vacation time and VOTE. If you're driving and someone is not then give them a ride to the polls. I remember how those of us like Jesse,Rosa,Martin,Aretha,My father and Mother marched.Some sacrificed their lives for the right to get to the polls and vote. Its critical this coming November." Get your step on".Step up to the ballot box. RIP My Aretha... I'll remember Nessun Dorma 1998!!!!

    Where was Elton John? Aretha was gravely ill and took the time to support his cause for AIDS. You would have thought he would have been respectful enough to show his respects at her funeral.

      rich kemp Why so defensive?😨 That's just
      her opinion/perspective, but you seem to be taking it WAY too personal. It's not like she's encouraging people to boycott Elton John's music because he didn't show up at Aretha's funeral!

    • @Tiffonique
      @Tiffonique 6 років тому

      Because he's an angry Black man who can't contain himself. Aretha didn't mind supporting him at his AIDS benefit so he could have shown his respects by at least acknowledging her funeral. By the way, this person's CLASS HAS BEEN DISMISSED! So defiant and combative. Yes, I do know Aretha personally. My father was one of The Miracles as in Smokey Robinson and Aretha took the time to call our home when my father passed away 8 months ago xoxo

    Jessie Jackson did not look himself.. he was wondering as if he was confused and the speech was lost at a point. He was on the podium like what are we doing ? God bless his heart. Why was he talking about her medical condition for as if we do not know, speech was somewhat slurred too.

    • @angelica3always
      @angelica3always 6 років тому +3

      Hopefully now you know that he has Parkinson's disease. And the slurring of the words are just part of the progression of that disease. I hope we are praying for him he's one of the few black icons left that understands the struggle that we still go through
