Rik Emmett changing his dark sounding stock humbucker to a much lower output Alnico 5 humbucker made the guitar far better. I hope Godin will look at that. I drop the bass side of the stock humbucker as low as possible.
I watched his video too and you are absolutely correct about that humbucker pickup. I don’t know why Godin continues to use that. For the price they are charging now it should be a name brand quality product not the Asian built one with Godin stamped on it. I owned 2 of them and sold both. I didn’t feel comfortable swapping out the neck pickup.
I was disappointed with the sound of my A6. The trouble is that there is a reason why electric and acoustic guitar strings are different gauges and choosing a set of strings, somewhere in between doesn’t work for me. I thought the sound, through pa or guitar amp didn’t match up to either an electric guitar or acoustic. So, I swapped the strings for a set of 11g acoustic strings and now I have the best sounding electro acoustic guitar I have ever owned. I’m still not keen on the neck profile but I can live with that because the plugged in sound is so good.
Love the video guys!!! I just picked up an A6 Ultra baritone. The action is very very high on it. It looks like in your video you have the action set nice and low. How low can i go while using the stock string gauge?

I love the sound when he swells the acoustic volume in the middle of the riff. Sounds really unique

Marc Dufour I think this is an Acousticaster, look at the headstock. But as you said, it’s probably custom made, not a stock colour as far as I know.
Did some research, it’s a limited edition Coral Blue Acousticaster
That is actually a Limited Edition Acousticaster prototype, kind of reminiscent of the first one we ever made back in the late 80's :)
