Thanks so much for subscribing!! I believe you were 1001! And thank you! Yes the amount of solar is amazing. It's almost double what we had on top of our camper so we're loving it!
We use it when we are not driving and it uses diesel directly from our fuel tank to heat the bus. If we need heat in the bus, we use the heat from the mini split when plugged in, and we use the diesel heater when we are off grid (which is usually the case). We used it when the evenings in CO got below freezing and it worked very well. It doesn't have the cute ambiance that our cubic mini wood stove had in our camper, but it heats the bus MUCH better.
@@OutsideAndOffgrid Excellent! The mini split is better at cooling, thus you mounted it high. Amazed at the "yacht-like quality" of your systems, their "invisible" wiring/plumbing, and finishes.

Thank you so much for the compliments! Especially for the fur babies 🐕🦺🐕🦺! We are loving the mini split as well as all the other decisions/changes based on what we had in our camper. I was a teacher so I will apply to teach fully online, and Hunter did electronics/solar/batteries and all that professionally so we are throwing around the idea of him doing that for other people on their builds. We are also hoping if we keep working on UA-cam videos that we can eventually get some income that way.

First of all I love your beautiful pups and would love to hear about the homemade dog food. The inside is perfect...I love the indirect lighting and the air conditioning unit, it reminds me when I lived in Bahrain because that was the first time I had ever seen that type of unit. The bus is really long 36ft is that a typical school bus length also did you need a specific drivers license? Love all the storage, the wood is beautiful. This is by far my favorite skoolie home.
Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments about the bus and especially our fur babies! We really appreciate you taking the time to write something so kind. Yes 36ft is a normal school bus length, and in most states in the US you do not need a special driver's license to drive one.
Thank you! Yes we have heard that from a few people and will definitely keep it in mind when making future videos. We appreciate the feedback! People may have to turn on closed captioning for this video but it won't be a issue in the future now that we know!

Nope, doesn't have to be your home state. Vermont is an easy state to register a bus as a motorhome in. Our home state in Maryland had lots of hoops to jump through. With Vermont you just have to send the bus info and a check. We found instructions this simple process on skoolie.net forums and it worked out perfectly.
We spent 60k total. There are definitely plenty of areas where cost can be brought down lower when doing a bus build, but we decided we would put everything we wanted into it since it would be our full time home. The initial cost of the bus itself was $2500. We plan on making a video breaking down the cost and what it was spent on like building materials (built during peak lumber prices), electronics, and big ticket items the bus needed like new tires and lights. (Replacing the tires cost us more than buying the bus did!).
southern-bytes.com/how-to-make-easy-homemade-dog-food/ Above is the recipe we use. We rotate the meat from ground chicken to ground beef to ground turkey with each batch. Our dogs love it WAY more than the different kibble brands we tried before hand. We are doing some research now to see what/if we should be adding any supplements to the recipe.
Super build. Kudos. I'm just getting started on my build and I can see that from the choices you've made concerning your build, we obviously think alike. Would you mind telling me what brand and model your 12 volt fridge is? Also, I'd love to know if you installed the mini split yourselves.

Wow, such a beautifully well done conversion! You guys have worked so hard and it has definitely payed off. My word, this is so impressive, every single detail. Amazing! Please don’t take this the wrong way, but the pop -ups on the left towards the end of your videos are very large and obstruct the video a great deal and I have accidentally clicked on them a quite a few times before getting to finish the videos. I don’t know if you care about likes, but this problem will certainly affect that because I think most people likely wait towards the end to like videos. I love the rope handle's , they don't hurt when you bump into them. I thought you had to live in a state that you registered your RV in?
Nope, doesn't have to be your home state. Vermont is an easy state to register a bus as a motorhome in. Our home state in Maryland had lots of hoops to jump through. With Vermont you just have to send the bus info and a check. We found instructions this simple process on skoolie.net forums and it worked out perfectly.
Question about the security of your bike and ramp. Is it secure from theft? I'd worry that someone would take it if I wasn't with the bus.
We rarely leave the bus for long, but if someone did mess with it we have security cameras on the exterior of the bus that would catch it happening.
I'd love to know where you got the caution sticker
We made it ourselves with our vinyl cutter!
How much would you say this whole build has cost you thus far? And How much did you get the bus for initially?

@@OutsideAndOffgrid such a small world!!! And such an awesome build... Always wanted to do the same with a flat nose bus or a cab over semi and extend the cab deleting the fifth wheel and now wanna go on with the project even more now....
Great Skoolie❤️ #DMV
Thank you!!
I’m really not trying to criticize, but it’s frustrating.
Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment and the feedback! It is incredibly helpful. We will take a look at this and edit accordingly.
