YAY, A MIKHAIL TAL VIDEO FROM LEVY! You have no idea how excited I was for this. It's currently 11 pm here in the Philippines but as soon as I saw this video, I jumped right at it! Tal is my most favorite historical chess player while you are my most favorite current chess player! Thank you, Levy! I hope you get to make more Mikhail Tal videos, as your analyses are so easy to follow and understand.
Let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Levy remembered a game more than 150 years old from beginning to the end despite probably not seeing it for a few years. This level of memory is NOT common in the slightest. I play chess for nearly two decades now but I will never be able to achieve such a feat. Levy you are amazing and it is a real pleasure to see you both commenting and playing games.
I think he had this planned and he probably studied the game beforehand. Not to sound like Kramnik but at the 27:45 mark it looks like he's maybe studying the last moves from somewhere.
damn, I used to think the bots were just stock fish calibrated to the elo of the bot, but the Paul Murphy one knew one of its own games meaning they actually put thought into this
0:31 I'm watching this in the past not the future. I'm seeing you play the real Tal! Amazing win! Please make a color video version. Black and white won't look good in the present!
One of the greatest videos you’ve done here. I learned so much by watching this video because you’re explaining your moves out loud and it’s good for a 900 blitz like me who started at a 100 elo but because of your courses I took 800 elo on blitz and at my club, I’m beating some 1500 rated fide by still being an 900. I bought 2 courses of you beginner and intermediate as well your book and I can’t wait to get your chessboard available in France. So thank you Levi for your work, you’ve changed my chess life as millions of others. ❤
One thing that drives me crazy about chess sets - not just yours levy, this isn’t an attack - but why do these folding chess sets have these storage slots for pieces when I have to take every single piece out and set them on the table, turn the board over, the. Start setting it up. Piece bags would make a much better user experience. Every single chess set I have ever gotten like this the first thing I did was put ziplock bags in for the pieces. Some nice piece bags would be so much better than these storage slots for each piece! Just a suggestion for when you sell out of this first run! Also, just another thing to put your logo on!
Every vid is enjoyable and entertaining, I hope that GothamChess continues to grow so that many people of all ages will start playing Chess, so thanks for your great channel.
Yes. If I could meet mikhail tal, I would ask or even pay him to play with him. Learning from him is masterpiece. He's the GOAT of chess in terms of tactics, just like a chess IM called LEVY "GOAT" ROZMAN.
There is no universe Morphy would miss that endgame win. When he was 9 years old he could calculate insane combination, while giving simul exibition, while blindfolded.
With the rise of A.I. i think bots will provide a more authentic experience of what it would be like to play the old grandmasters. I still want a Tigran Petrosian bot, as he was a legendary defender.
Levy taught me Vienna, Traxler, and helped me add to my Fried Liver. UA-cam is loaded with chess videos. It just takes time to study. Good to see Levy continue to teach people =)
I'm an 800 and i played Tal after not playing the game in weeks. I genuinely got a performance rating of 2150 on that game with 85.7 accuracy. Best game of my life even though it was short and got destroyed early LOL.
Levy... in all seriousness I belive you will become a gm 100%, and don't pay attention at the people that say you won't be a GM. you will be a GM and we will support you the whole way!
See, if i had to play any chess GM alive or dead, im gonna play some random medieval GM and just ask him questions over the chessboard abt history and stuff

The fun thing with this world championship is that if ding dont come to it, it will be considered ashaming and looser behavior.... while when magnus said he would not defend his title, it was considered a bold move and basicly incredibly cool even if slighlty disapointing. Thats where you see who is the real world champion!
Are the bots actually trained on games by the people they represent? Or even somehow related? To me it feels like the all the bots are just stockfish balanced to some rating and the personality is just a profile picture and some random quotes.
It's pretty much balanced stockfish for the most part just given most common openings for famous players, some lines and sometimes ability to recreate famous games. Granted it's really badly programmed because you can actually beat all of them with premoves if you don't refresh because they will just respond with same move to your same move every time.
Losing to a Tal sacrifice that the engine hates must feel immersive.
The chess engine is always right, especially if it's the Stockfish engine 😏

I hope Kramnik's bot just says "very interesting" every move you make. It'd be so intimidating.
Annoyingly they chose not to troll Kramnik that much. I wish they had though.
Or maybe,Kramnik's bot will say this is ridiculous,he's obviously looking at another monitor!
