That looks fantastic. I love the straightforward way in which you aged the bones. Nothing like good, authentic dirt when you need something to look old and dirty.
I've found that the best way to achieve an accurate weathering effect on white plastic is to use real mud then use a clear coat to seal it and rough it up with some coarse grit sandpaper. Great videos and your Ender 3 Review really influenced my decision to make it my first 3D Printer!
URGENT NEWS: case of dwarfism has been discovered to have effected the great Tyrannosaurus rex as discovered in the local school playground. Front page after 1 day 😂
I just finished the t-Rex model, original size. I started the stegosaurus.. I think I’ll dirty up my models too. That looks great. Wish I had room to scale them up too.
In Dutch we have "Penseel" and I believe German has "Pinsel". Funny how close those languages are even though they do sound very different (at least to me).
I always wanted to print my own skeletons with glow in the dark filament but since it costs too much , I started collecting miniature versions of them from around the world from smugglers or small toy stores . These things look really fancy in the display case .
That came out really well. One of my 1st large prints was this T-Rex head, I printed it huge like 400% in hatchbox gray came out so good. Thanks for the video!
As always your video was fantastic and I keep wondering how you are able to keep outdoing yourself, its so cool to watch someone with such talent. Keep up the GREAT work.
Awesome print. ..100 hours. impressive. Like the way it turned out. Bury those failed prints somewhere! I'm sure you could find a museum that would like that thing. Or create your own museum.
I'm currently about 40% through printing this, so far so good ! I am finding that a lot of the parts need supports though, which is making the print a lot long. I'm doing mine at 210% - Thanks for the great video!
Cool, great job. There may be a faster way to weather light colored PLA: buy some Potassium permanganate crystals (not a lot, 3 grams will be more than enough for couple of skeletons ), dissolve some in a bucket and put PLA parts in it. In 12 hours - couple of days depending on concentration they will be brown with natural shading, like something from the bog. Rinse, dry and mount. Keep longer for blacker finish. Theoretically it is possible to get them almost black but never tried it. With bucket large enough you can do the whole skeleton in one go. The only drawback of the method is necessity to keep surface grease-free: any glue patch of greasy fingerprint will show as light patch. And remember to check the parts and steer the solution to keep it uniform. Also depending on printing settings and PLA brand it may highlight steps and gaps between layers, so try it on one printed part first. May also work on resin casts. Definitely works great on bone, leather and horn, cause it the same process which colors them in bogs, only greatly accelerated
Awesome Looking print. I've got this one on my 'Todo' list, just waiting to get some space to put it when it's done!! Great paint job to, I'll definitely give that one a go.

I love this one! The quality and the paint makes it look so real!!
That looks fantastic. I love the straightforward way in which you aged the bones. Nothing like good, authentic dirt when you need something to look old and dirty.

Now a life sized one
I wonder if anyone has ever tried 3D printing a whole lifesize T.rex skull. That would be something else. Great video by the way, love the model.

You are setting the bar very high for 3D printing videos now with such excellent work as this. Just amazing. thank you!

Very nice! Besides the pronation of the hands, really cool looking.
I have a 3D printed T-Rex Skull waiting to be painted. This is EXACTLY what I needed.

Pretty Much everything Simon Makes turns out amazing!!!!
Time to get printing one of those! Awesome video

Dude, you stepped up your painting/weathering skills on this one. This build looks great!!!!
2:02 Pencil?
"pensel" meaning "brush" :)
In swedish we call a brush ”pensel” so i kinda get why he Said so..
In Dutch we have "Penseel" and I believe German has "Pinsel". Funny how close those languages are even though they do sound very different (at least to me).
Oh, thanks for the clarifications
Can confirm it is Pinsel in German. So we all agree RCLifeOn said it correctly just the English language is being wrong! :p
Looks absolutely fantastic!
